If it is true that the game is being pulled from shelves,no company is going to invest in further DLC,upgrades, fixing online etc. It is time consuming and costly. No sales,no one selling the game, bad news. Too bad. It's a great driving game.

Pulling it from shelves doesn't necessarily mean they're going to stop selling it digitally. They'll continue to support it if they're still selling it through the PlayStation store.

Yeah,I agree. I played on PC for years. Don't have as much time anymore. I miss all the mods and tracks from Nascar 2003 buy Seirra Papayrus . It was a phenomenal game.
I moved away from consoles last year, and PC will stay my main gaming platform for the rest of my life i think. Screw the exclusives. So glad i laid down that 300 bucks extra compared to purchasing a PS4 or an Xbone, and having all those artificial restrictions removed and a world of options and extras given to me in return.

If you get the chance to buy a new one or upgrade the existing one for your gaming needs, i can't recommend it enough 👍 , yes you'll have to do the occasional troubleshooting but that shouldn't be a problem as long as you know how to google :P

Do I understand this correctly: Kunos is committed to releasing paid DLC over time? If this is the case, they do have an incentive to continue to support the game, including on console. Unfortunately, I really have no idea how much it costs them to produce new content relative to the income they can generate by selling it.

The traditional model for console games, including racing games, seems to be to put out a new version of the game every two to three years. In the case of racing games, which don't have any kind of narrative content, it would seem to make more sense to build on the existing game, adding new cars & tracks & improving the gameplay features & functionality of the game over time. I would be prepared to pay for that, rather than paying for a "new" game which inevitably has all kinds of problems when it's released.

As far as no more hard copies are concerned, I'm guessing that there may be a near future disc edition with Porsche plastered all over the cover which may give AC a second wind. At that point a good few launch issues will have been resolved and it will be worthy of being re-reviewed by most media outlets.

And with MS making Xbox One exclusives available on Windows 10, there's even less reason to get that last one, so if you need a 'GT-like' fix, you're all set already with games like FH3 and the upcoming FM7.

Not sure how valid this is.. but a person reported on the official forums that a retailer he went to told him that AC on consoles is being discontinued.

There is also an online store stating the same thing..
The physical copy is still available in almost every shop i checked : Game Uk, amazon.de, bol.com, consoleshop.be, game mania. So IMO this is just a decision from a few shops who made this decision themselves.

We don't know anything, maybe having physical copies of the game was always a temporary thing so AC's name could be seen on the shelves and in the display cabinets.

I can't be the only one to be glad that they made AC available on console, without any more delays and in whatever state it would be, as long as the driving is here.

EDIT: if indeed the physical copy is discontinued, we don't even have a confirmation of that.

You're not the only one ;)

I just did a CLEAN sub eight minute lap of the nordschleife in the Ferrari f40, and you know what, I'm pretty gosh darn proud of myself. THAT WAS SLIPPERY
That's one of my favorite combo's, for sure! Unless I'm racing, I will put the Street Tires on. When those turbos kick in...Mama mia! :D

If this is the case then I would expect a full refund, I've shelled out £65 for this and I cant even race my DLC on the (by name alone near enough) online mode
Could you let us know when you receive your refund check?

Stores usually go out of stock if they don't see a reason to stock some item. In this situation they will still be able to order a copy for customers who come asking. Discontinued sounds like the distributor has informed stores that there will be no more deliveries. I guess the only way to possibly confirm this rumor is to see how stock levels pan out over time.

I was thinking this too. It's not unlikely that the physical copy has been intended to also function as an advertisement. The other day I saw AC sitting next to triple A titles in stores having around 50 games on display. AC's budget doesn't come near most of them.

Sorry I brought up the comment about the disc being discontinued. There were only two online stores, (not sure what country) that I saw that had the game listed as discontinued. None of the major stores in the USA have stopped selling it.

Again my bad for bringing it up :dunce:

Anyone else here sick of reading condescending posts from the Fanboys over on the official AC forums?

One guy in particular seems like he's only there to wind console gamers up.

I know some of the things said by people complaining have been completely out of order, but still.

End of rant.

Yeah I have seen a lot of this - "you console guys are just lazy and are not even trying to form a community to race with" - not even knowing the true limitations the console people are given with AC's online system. Thing is there are people trying their best to get groups together online to race.

Does his user name contain a certain orange gourd?

Haha he sounds like a super ace guy! Can't understand why he doesn't accept the console limitations as they stand. Hopefully the whole thread will become redundant if Kunos can sort out the servers.

Who are these us? and why do you need to know? oh, I get it now, you are just being a regular forum frat guy looking for high fives ;)
I need to know about as much as you needed to announce you were going to request a refund. So, you can let 'us', the people in this forum that you've announced your intentions to, know or you can keep the information to yourself. I'll be fine either way.

That's fair enough I suppose, probably just on the back foot listening to all the crap that goes on over in the official forum

So, I have been told by the game shop that I frequent, that AC DLC for region 3 Asian PS4 is still not available for purchase on Asian region PSN store, not sure if this is true yet, anyone with Asian/R3 AC PS4 copies could check, please ? He also said, other region DLC will not work on Reg 3/Asian PS4 AC disc or digital version, and the region lock online make things worse for Asian region players :( He also said AC on PS4 ( he played/owned the game as well ) still has tire pressure vs tire temp issue, where tire pressure have little effect on tire temperature, and suggested to wait until the physics on console is the same / uniform as in PC.

I remembered this was an issue on PC awhile back, not sure which version, so anyone owned/played BOTH AC on PC and console ( PS4 or Xbox ), can you tell which version of PC, AC for PS4/Xbox the physics is from ? Which version of AC in PC that the tire pressure vs tire temp got fixed ? Is the issue tied to the tire model version, like only in V7 ? Which means only in cars with specific tire model ? Anyone have a list of cars+tire version for console ?

It looks like console players might get the Porsche DLC after PC players...but who knows, maybe not. Still 11 days before the 25th. Fingers crossed for you guys. 👍

From Marco Massarutto's Facebook:

Just some quick note for our AC fans, before the official announcement: the Porsche Pack Volume 1 will be released on Steam on October 25th, and on PS4 and XB1 as soon as Sony and Microsoft approve the new build, since the approval process on console is not under our control. I'm glad to confirm that Steam approved our request to provide a Season Pass for the Porsche DLCs, that should be available by next week. The Season Pass will cost 15 Eur and it will allow to get all the 3 Porsche DLCs through a unique purchase, saving 28% of the full price. Each DLC will include 7 Porsche models, and will be available at the price of 6,99 Eur on PC, PS4 and XB1. About the list of cars included in the Porsche program, stay tuned. The cars included in the Vol.1: 911 Carrera S, 935 Moby Dick, 918 Spyder, Cayman GT4 Clubsport, 718 Cayman S, 917/30, 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 1974, to provide a perfect mix between road, racing and historic cars. As bonus free content available in the next update of Assetto Corsa, we'll release Silverstone 60's and the new Porsche Panamera G2.

Then I presume the Red pack for console will be after the porsche pack vol 1....?
My opinion? I think the Red Pack will release for console with very little fan fare. You'll see a notice: Red Pack available Nov 5th! or something like that...but I don't think they'll make a huge deal about it since it's already been out on PC for quite some time. Look at how quiet the Japanese Pack dropped.. I just hope they offer it to you guys soon. Some very nice cars in that pack!
