Thinking about getting the cheap CSR shifter set. Fanatec sells them dirt cheap brand new, and I'm desperate for a H pattern shifter.

I have them and I use them way more than my paddle shifts. Only downside might be the clicking noise when you change gears but if you're wearing headphones you don't even hear that.

Yeah there's some pretty easy mods you can do to remove the loud click, whilst retaining the shift feel. I'd probably look into mods, as the bulk of my sim racing is done late at night whilst the family is asleep lol.

Edit: Love the profile pic BTW ;)

What is peoples view on the Ferrari 599XX EVO? Just had a few first time quick laps. Fun fun fun! Quite a beast though.

Default setup : good
Sound : goooood
Handeling : good
driving : good
brakes : do we brake ?
If you want to buy one : waaaaay to expensive
One of my top cars from the pack .

Well for me:

Default setup :OK
Sounds: amazing in 1.03, very bad in 1.10.. The Exhaust pops it got is now very silent
Handling: severely affected with downshift protection bug...even without throttle in a long straight and in revs that should normally be ok for downshifting you got to activate the paddle 3 up to more times for one downshift.
brakes: what brakes?

I liked this 599XX a lot before, in the 1.03,the sound was much better and more accurate to real car souds...in 1.03 and before there was already the downshift protection quite intrusive, but with the 1.09 and 1.10 Updates it is also whorse..and it lacks in brake power.

Hopefully in the next update we receive the brake pressure setup option like on PC, get the sound fixed and the intrusive downshift protection revised

That is strange as I had never encountered the downshift protection bug? I did experience the downshift problem numerous times in the Escorts last night since they have no ABS. I was like what on earth... these are seriously old cars that wouldn't let me drop a gear quickly under braking.

Keep in mind that you can only lower/reduce brake pressure. You can't increase it (as far as I know).

Ohhh:censored:! You're right! ...
Well... Hopefully they give the car more brakepower then....

Because now the 599XX seems to have the "flintstones naked feet brake power" :D

Thanks mate:cheers:

Give a look good to the 599XX. And you will see that the downshift protection is way to intrusive .. And it's whorse since the 1.09 and 1.10...Thanks to the 599XX i thought my downshift paddle on my wheel was broken:D

Just like the sounds...
Before 1.09 it was a car i quite used a lot, cause it's one of the Ferrari track only cars that i like a lot... But since the last update..don't use it much anymore..

And your not the only person that said that the downshift protection bug is realeted with the ABS... Quite strange..
It's all reported,so let's see in the next update if things get improved and fixed..

@Donnced I get what you're saying.

I never spent a ton of time with the 599XX, but I'll go give it a run to see how the brakes are working on the PC version. I'm not saying that this applies to you, but I remember when we first got the two RUF RT 12 R cars. A lot of people were complaining that the brakes sucked.

The truth was the brakes were fine. The car is just so freakin' powerful & fast and very deceptive...so many people weren't realizing not only were they trying to hit the same exact braking points that they normally do in cars near that caliber (or perceived caliber, I should say) -- they were carrying much more speed into the corner than they normally would and/or some might also be missing their intended braking point, shortening the braking zone, when they should actually be increasing the distance.

I fell victim to those tricks quite a few times when driving the RUF RT 12 R's for the first time. Especially that AWD version. I still can't decide if I like that car or not. Again, I'm not implying that's what's happening in your case -- a lot of people have made complaints about downshifting issues and brakes feeling not so great.

Hi guys! i just opened a thread in the official support forum for requesting car information on the loading screen just like the PC version has!

http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...-on-loading-screen-like-the-pc-version.41274/

When more replies the thread will receive, the more chances there are to be listened and get the attention of the dev team.

Special mention to @ALB123! Thanks for the screenshot aportacion
It would be nice to have more Information right across the board. There is no info about the cars like on PC too, there needs to be info on what each slider does in controllerc settings, Kunos surely can't believe that everyone could possibly know what everything does? These little admissions are starting to bother, more info, more cockpit adjustments. I can't understand the reasons behind their admittance.

Yup...There's a quite huge gap between the PC version and the console version in features and options... I don't understand why they took those decisions... It's a bit sad to have to request things like that..

You're welcome to add your requests also in the tread i opened in the official support forum.. Like i said, how more we are asking the missing features, more "pressure" we put on the development team.

In a near future i will go to PC,but meanwhile i would also like to see Assetto Corsa getting on par with his big bro in the consoles..

The Porsche spyder scares me at Monza. You know how you want to find those last few feet in braking distance but you've went over the limit. STOP!!!!!11111
With the 918, it is not possible to start braking too early. It would need an extra set of tires and brakes (6-wheeler Tyrrell style) or 500 fewer kg to make that speed feel manageable.

I must admit that this is seriously irritating on consoles. http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/online-race-quitters.41251/

Most gamers/casuals want to win now without the hassle/learning curve required to get better (i.e. win = immediate gratification), so if it's obvious at a certain point in a race they won't win, they ragequit.
Most simracers are willing to invest time to improve their skills by learning and practicing until they win (i.e. win = long-term gratification), so they still try to finish a race they can't win, to at least get some more practice in...

No judgement, just differences

Most of the times I quit or go to the pits and wait for the next race, it's due to the fact I'm somewhere from mad to raged, sometimes about myself, sometimes about others.
At that moments I know it's better to calm down than continue racing, because I'm often getting to eager to get back in the group, overtake someone who maybe caused/forced my mistake, or aggressive, which leads to either making more mistakes (getting even more enraged) or fighting to hard against opponents.

Either way, over my recent only experience I got to this point to have a better judgement when it's ok to continue or to take a break.

Though I only got back to online racing through Gunja's servers and do like 99% of my public online racing on his servers.

I don't understand this rage. How can some people be like this as it is just a game. Sure it can be infuriating when someone punts you hard or nudges the corner of your car slowly.

I can only assume these are the same type of gamers you always read that snaps/destroys their controllers are launches it at the TV. If so bizarre individuals. How can some have so much anger like this for a game? It cannot be healthy.

Anytime I go into public lobbies I never try to win but treat it like a survival game as you know the first corner or two is going to be a catastrophy. As you're guaranteed 1 - 4 - 6 will be so late on the brakes you'll be hit even if you brake correctly and stay on course. You get hit you continue and keep your head. There will always be somebody faster or better hardware and faster.

I think it's safe to say that many people who quit prematurely aren't enraged. I don't care about not winning but I can think of examples where the incentive to continue is ruined. I'll seek help the day it escalates beyond a simple sigh.

Ha! The eternal quest for interesting racing on public server, never to be reached but always promise! One as to keep the faith even though the evidence tells us it is never going to happen! Expecting anything else than mayhem is madness, no wonder they rage quit, they Are insane, remember what insanity is?
Doing the same thing again and again hoping for a different result.

I've watched too many quit after the first corner. More followed after the first lap.

Without any reason other than not being in front of the field? Back when I raced online in Gran Turismo, I would typically quit if I was pushed hopelessly into the barrier. Even though damage was off, I didn't feel it was right to continue - voluntary retirement if you will. No longer being part of the race for the win was never a factor. The important thing was to feel the thrill of close and clean racing, so rage didn't come into quitting. Therefore, I tend to give my fellow players the benefit of the doubt instead of simply assuming they are infuriated by things not working out in their favor.

There are exceptions. We have great racing every Friday night in a public server, we get the occasional jack ass but for the most part it's been fine.
