Assetto corsa coming to PS4 and Xbox one

Oh another thing I noticed on ps4 this morning after not being on for a long time... the soft lock is not there on the modern Lotus Formula car. (125?) I can turn my T300 all the way around, but I can see the car's wheels stop moving right around where I would expect the lock to be on a formula car.

Is this known? or did I accidentally take my wheel out of automatic wheel rotation mode?

There is no soft lock on Assetto Corsa.

They actually removed the option for Soft Lock in consoles?! It's not like you put a check in the box asking for Soft Lock but it just doesn't provide it? Kunos actually took out the ability to make a selection to enable it?

No, there wasnt a soft lock on consoles never. He is talking about PC. And in PC, if I dont remember wrong, Stefano said it was difficult to implement and it was working wrong.

If you use a 3-pedal setup, some have found that pumping the clutch a few times seems to improve things. As if there is some calibration issue that interferes with downshifting.
Nope, I have only the stock ones... :(

Never knew of all the little effects like the starry shine and the lights. Though the star light glare you'd expect at night.

That looks absolutely hideous! Way over the top & really badly done. Not seen anything like that on the PS4 & wouldn't want to either.

:(

Well l had soft lock before last 2 updates.
Yup, i also until 1.03 version.. It wasn't a strong "soft lock" but you could feel it enough.
And there still rotation problems..because before the 1.09 and 1.10 Updates i putted my wheel manually on 900 degrees and the DOR system from the game matches the virtual wheel rotation with my wheel 1=1.

Now i have to let my wheel in 1080 degrees otherwise the DOR system of the game don't work correctly with some cars like the Porsche "moby dick"

And yes... In visual settings i got the visual wheel rotation option set in "no", so it matches perfectly with your wheel...

Also i hope they add the FFB option min. Force.... Cause since the last 2 updates the FFB is less stronger than in 1.03 and before..

All those things i what i really want to see fixed together with personal button mapping.

Got no response to my post in the questions section, so I'll try here...

Heard a lot of positive comments about AC, but I'm now c.20 hours in, and I think I must be missing something.

I'm just not getting any feedback on the car through the wheel - there's rotational resistance, but no feedback to how the car is behaving at all... eg; if the car goes sideways the wheel doesn't countersteer and there's no kick back over kerbs/bumps. The wheel also has a kind of deadzone for the 1st 5* either side of dead center - the car moves if you move the wheel, but the resistance doesn't start until post 5* of lock.

PS4/G29. I have FF at 35%, everything else at 0.

I can't believe this how the game is supposed to feel... GT has better FF!!

Raise the FFB a little, and add somewhere between 1-5% on each of the other sliders as well, see what they add to the feel.

Don't think that's the issue (and I don't want more rotational weight, I want feedback!)... even basic FF should automatically counter steer when a car over steers. This is just resistance, not FF.

Does anyone else have a PS4/G29? How does the game feel to you?

G29 has an obsolete gear drive FFB system.

Try to rise FFB up to 80%
Kerb feel 30%
Road feel 30%
Slip 20 %
And understeer effect in "on"

So you will get a really good FFB.
And tweak from there on.

Obsolete or not, I've used G series wheels for years, with much older games than AC, and had much better FF!

From reading the AC forums, all settings other than FF are an overlay. FF on it's own should give a proper feel. The others are just enhancers.

Increased the other settings and they have no effect at all!

Something is amiss.

That was the thing I detested about the G25 on GT5 and 6. It felt so light even with the feedback on 8 or 9 out of 10. Even on rFactor it was worse. No weight on the centre. Oh and it was rattle-y?

The T300 is quite crazy with the LaFerrari once that weight transfers on the suspension at 27 percent. Damn it is heavy. Even the centre subtle forces is lovely.

It's a brand new wheel.

I'm reinstalling AC... if that doesn't work I'll take the wheel back.

So easy to countersteer with G27 on Assetto Corsa PC version and makes probably best use of the force feedback G27 offers. Did a quick search now and seems game has big deadzone on PS4 with G29 but not so on Project CARS? Do you have that game to try out wheel on?

Hi Mate... long time no speak 👍

Only have AC - bought is specifically for Porsche content.

I can live with the 10* of slack around the center, but there's no FF even after reinstalling AC. I can only think there's something up with the wheel itself. I'll take it back tomorrow.

Been a while, need GT SPORT to come out so can be motivated to do GT time trials again. The rate PD is going at, Liverpool might even win their first Premier League title before the game releases. Stranger things have happened in the last year...

pCARS GOTY edition only £15.99 at the moment, worth getting as has good feedback with G27 on PC so should be similar on PS4 with G29.

Have you tried it on GT6 and compared to feeling of G27, is it as good? First G27 I got had dodgy force feedback so could also be the wheel.

Try it with other racing games first see what gives. What are your settings in the actual wheel driver (when you connect it to a PC)?

The light feeling is mostly because of a lack of on wheel damper settings, but I wouldn't know the options on a G29.

Just a question, when are you plugging the wheel in? I only ask this because if you start the game and then plug it in, it doesn't always work correctly.

 but we are playing sexy football even if we don't win it... so I am really happy.

Not tried it with anything else as this is all I have now - taken my PS3 to my place in Spain.

It's not light. There's plenty of weight - similar to GT with FF set to 10. But there's absolutely nothing else. Just this constant weight.

I'll try it, but sure I've booted up with the wheel alrwady plugging in. And vice versa.

Well l had soft lock before last 2 updates.

I also remember the soft lock was gone the last time I played it, which was well over a month ago. I finally played it again today, and I actually have soft lock again..
I was trying out the first porche dlc when I noticed one of the cars didn't go fully to 900degrees, I double checked with the Lotus f1 car and surely enough the wheel locked at 360degrees. (and the lock felt pretty strong)

Hoping I've understood what softlock is and I'm not just making a fool out of myself now, it is when I can have the wheel at 900degrees and the game automatically stops the wheel from rotating more than it would on the real car right?

I have never changed changed the dor on my wheel from 900, and my visual wheel setting in game is 900.
I'm on the tx wheel on the xbox one btw.

I havent posted much on forums, but i read them a lot. Sorry if my English is poor, it is not my first language.

Hi Stotty! That's a real bummer about your issue. You get no reaction whatsoever when you drive with your tire on a rumble strip/sawtooth type of curb? On the very last right-hander before the start/finish straight on Brands Hatch, I think it's called Clark's Curb, or something like that...the red/white strip on the left side - there is no feel in your hands at all? Should be able to feel every sawtooth - even at relatively slow pace with my DFGT. That really blows. :grumpy:

EDIT: Or the inside red/white strip at Graham Hill bend? Normally we all run wide there but the inside strip, I'm driving over repeatedly and getting that feel. I'm also on PC so I'm not sure how much help I could provide with settings as the two interfaces are so very different.
