I used to have a neighbour who was fantastic at building metal and arc/welding. Sadly he died many years ago. Heart attack. :/ Built a few trailers for me. Very professional work.

He would have built a new frame.

General question about the future of the game; is this a "every few year" we have a sequel, or more of a stick with 1 for a long time and keep updating it?

If it is stick with 1 for a long time and keep updating it, are we ever going to get a revitalized career that actually includes all of the new cars?

Your asking that question here? Perhaps asking it on the "Official Forum" might get you a lot closer to your answer.

With Kunos being bought by Digital Bros I could see the current game being updated for the foreseeable future while AC2 tech is created in the background after the team has boosted personnel numbers.

I certainly don't see Career being updated to include DLC cars however.

I predict an AC2 no sooner than 2019, and thats being ambitious imo. They have said they will support the game throughout this year,as for revitalize d career, we're getting custom championships that supposedly will be improved (according to the latest blog entry).

What we do know is that a Scottish location is coming for free, and at least 30 cars are on their way.

How far have people got through on the career? I'm mainly just going to go ahead with it to get the trophies. :D

I finished it all ages ago. It is the most mind numbingly boring, unimaginative career of any game I have ever played. I only did it to fill in time while waiting for private lobbies.

Did you gold it all and what difficulty?
Well it's either to long and too hard or boring, take your pick
Here is a list of all the races (except the 3 new ones)

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?25652-List-of-Career-Accolades-(printable)

It has taken me about 220hours (on short) and that is about winning 600 races. My stats say I have entered 1760 races but I did repeat some, lost some and retired from others. (Plus it has also countered my online races as well)

The career is tooooooo long, toooooo hard to understand and very convoluted. Add to that the atrocious AI and it has not been all that enjoyable especially as I now am sooooo close and can't finish it :-(

And now it appear two invitationals are bugged and can't be done. They are the 2 and 4 team championships

I actually wrecked more people today online than wrecked me. None intentional, but all stupid and avoidable. Just a really, really bad day. From 1am onward.

Yes I got gold on all using easy. The PS trophy does not care what level you do it on. I actually did them all before the update where super easy was introduced.

BTW the last series of events there is Lotus 98T race at Spa. Qualifying was impossible because the AI kept parking in the middle of Eau Rouge. So I stated the race rear of field :-( Funny thing then happened, all the AI pitted first lap and stayed there letting me win the race. I actually drove through the pits to have a look and see if it was pile up but they were parked nicely in their respective pit boxes.

Why include a post of mine from PCARS? I do realise your powers of comprehension are limited but this makes little sense since I was asked a direct question about a different game called Assetto Corsa which we are discussing in this forum.

What do you mean by that?
I thought some classes would hit the track with warm tyres, but I don't know for sure. I did a classic F1 race and the tyres were cold, did some GT3 races and the tyres were cold. Just wondered if it'd be an option when we get private lobbies. A warm up lap would be a good idea as I doubt many races actually start with such cold tyres IRL. Also people have enough problems navigating turn 1 most of the time by the looks of things and having warmer tyres would help out a lot.

Again, I don't actually know which real life series start a race with cold tyres, but there would be a formation lap most of the time I'd think?

I had seen that with regular cars. Very weird.

You call something mind numbingly boring and do it on easy.

killerjimbag when you have completed the career get back to me and I will discuss it with you. Until then your opinion doesn't count for anything.

Also you ignored my question about why you dragged and old post of mine out from PCARS.

I haven't completed the career mode, i haven't even got to the first championship part, and i can confirme It's boring. It's not really a career mode but a series of races, just like GT6. Really hope they focus on an interesting career in AC2, how hard can it really be?

i don't known if i should call it boring or not, but i spent a whole hour trying to understand the mechanics of it and just gave up.
i did the first race and really didn't know when to start or end:dunce:

The races themselves aren't necessarily boring, the career mode is uninspired though. I need a reason also to do hotlaps in career mode, such as a team wanting me to prove myself. There is little difference between career mode and special events to me, except special events are more interesting.

Custom championships will transform offline for me, cant waiting to do full championships in the lotus 25, 49 and the Maserati 250F 12 and 6 cylinders.

Your the one doing career mode on easy,on both games and call it boring. I'm not a medal hog,I could care less if I get platinum. Then again if I you need your platinum on easy,do you get the participation medal too?

Every time i pop in this thread it seems people are arguing:confused:👎 I do agree though. No matter what difficulty you choose, the career is utterly boring. Which is why i prefer the Special Events.

I can say with some confidence that doing the AC career mode on harder difficulty levels would do pretty much zero to make them less boring.

A lot of @sdfk! You dare not enter their racing line in Hard and Alien. Hard isn't that bad but not as aggressive as Alien.

The banging bodywork doesn't bother me but when they wreck the rear wings. I'm pissed. All that drag. What was shocking from the replays was seeing how much damage the AI done to themselves with all the wrecked bodywork. I hardly saw an immaculate car.

You spend a lot of time and effort criticising people for their achievements and very little actually doing anything yourself.

I see that you even hide your trophy achievements on PS. So Hey Bud to yourself ;-) I also see you have played a couple of the COD games so you may even have a small understanding of gaming strategy then. Like most gamers I will play through a game on the easiest level first, to learn how the game plays, the strategies and to teach myself how to beat the game. I will then go through and play it on the hardest level to get the real enjoyment and (usually) the veteran level trophy. Some games it is unnecessary (AC, PCARS) and they were then found to be too boring to do it at any harder levels. BTW I did most of PCARS AI at levels 75-85.

I should also point out AC career mode, while boring, does teach you how the game plays and gets you ready for the special Events where I should point out to get the Platinum Trophy they need to be on Alien.

So again killerjimbag (abetterplaya) I don't know what your problem is with me or why it offends your sensibilities of how I play games that weren't designed by me but you need to get over it. It is so easy to just sit on the sidelines and take ham fisted swipes at people. Either engage me in sensible debate and discuss issues rationally or I will put you on my blocked list. You contribute nothing to most conversations and only ever interject some pointless criticism of someone (usually me).

I use this forum to discuss the games I am currently interested in to gain help and information or to help others that want information that I may have. If you have a problem with that then so be it. It is your problem.

BTW un-hide your PlayStation trophies let's have a look?

Well I just experienced the highs and lows of online public racing in 2 back-to-back GT3 races at RBR:

1st race, qualified 4th, myself and the cars ahead made it through the first corner whilst in my mirrors what looked like a tornado ripped through the remaining pack and sent them all flying; then I made a silly mistake (cold tyres!) in T4, made contact and spun out, waited at the side for whoever was still behind me to pass, then went on a mission to reclaim my honour and smashed in some laps to get back to 4th where I came up behind the guy who I made contact with; but we both drove sensibly and I passed him after a few corners, and then P1 & P2 hit each other at the end of lap 8/10, which left me clear to take the win. Nice 👍

But then...

On to race 2, was doing well enough, however on lap 6 some moron called 'DanyShelby_Oc' parked on the first straight and drove across the track straight into me, then drove off. I didn't quit and kept going, and there he was, waiting down the very next straight and tried to swerve into me as I passed; but I threw him a dummy and got by easily. Unfortunately the idiot used me to brake into T3 and sent me off again. I guess I was marked for death... But again I carried on and still had a semi-decent race with the back markers, and eventually the imbecile disconnected. He probably hoped I would do the same after 2 impacts but screw that guy!

Now when did they say private lobbies were coming?

On the subject of this is it possible to complete all of those on PS4 (and using the DS4)? I've completed career mode and a bunch of the special events but some seem like they will be impossibly difficult.

That's my son,he plays Cod,NHL,blah, blah. etc. Unhide my trophies, actually never even new they were hidden. He must have did something. All I play is racing games.I guess your comprehension of "I'm not a trophy hog" didnt sink in.I have an attic full of real trophies, medals and ribbons from playing actual sports and not video game trophies.Sorry no participation ones, never had that when I played! You want pics of actual trophies,I can send you some.Yes, you come here to help and find out things about the game. We know online lobbies don't work, correct? We know some don't like career, correct? I mean, if you had suggestions on how to make online lobbies better, that would be great. Help with career, ditto. Start a new thread to have fun about online lobbies? Hey,they don't work up to some people's expectations. Raced last night with 3 friends,it was actually good. Actually no need to block me. I did myself a favour.
