Game delayed 'til June on PS4 and Xbone. Ah well, hopefully they'll be able to get rid of the annoying tyre screeching between now and then.

You can adjust when the tire screech happens.

And here it starts..... Christ on a bike come on guys lets learn from SMS's mistakes not copy them... first sign of worry for me this...IMO.

Yeah, unfortunately this is our new normal. I hoped Kunos might break the mold, but apparently not.

I got limbo for free and I still only give it 7/10. I think it also depends on whether the game is a production by a major developer, or if it's an indie game.
I got limbo free too, i didnt give it a rating. I never give games ratings simply because i like them or i dont. I weigh up the value before hand, If i dont like it much or i only play 4 - 6 weeks before i get bored of it no problem, I use to spend £40-£100 on a night out. Only GT6 gave me buyers regret and made feel ripped off. I paid £60 on psn store, so i give that game a 2/10, a 4/10 not taking the price into account

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? on the plus side it gives me time to get a new wheel, buy SLR and Dirt rally and play them out.

I dont see the issue really, some things are out of peoples hands. This doesnt mean the product will be any less. I thought April was an early release date when announced if im honest. Maybe from now on devs should give a rough date, example- we're aiming for april, we have that penned down barring no hiccups.

They need to find a good slot and hopefully meet the summer deadline. If they wait until holidays it's gonna get murdered by Horizon 3 on Xbone and by GTS on PS4. I can see how they wanted to evade Dirt Rally and the big hitters like Quantum Break and Uncharted 4 in april. Smart decision honestly.

I was kinda hoping it was due to some insider info on a certain GTS beta around that time...

#wishfulthinking :)

I'm disappointed to hear this as I am so looking forward to it. However, more development time will only improve the game and I am okay waiting for that.

Would the people complaining about Kunos prefer it was released on time in a less than acceptable state? They would be the first people on their back.

As long as the delays lead to a quality product I have no issue. Delay after delay and PCars released in a pretty shoddy state, Kunos will be lambasted if they delay and AC is released in a poor state.
Once again, my advice is do not preorder AC, leave it a day or three after release before purchasing or not. 👍

I had the rare chance to play AC last weekend, at the Chicago Auto Show. The folks at SRT had a viper, yes the real car, connected to the game byway of sensors the simulated actual car movements. The experience gave a new found respect for asset to corsa, and the fact the we got to spend 2 minutes of game play, on the ring no less, made the the trip a win for me.

I wonder if the delay is because of Playstation VR and its timing and they just haven't said anything because they don't want to disappoint if it doesn't work out?

It's never a good idea when games get delayed. Almost every PS4 racer has been delayed (DC, The Crew, PCARS, Loeb Rally) and even with those extra few months of polish the game still ends up quite buggy at launch. It is really a shame that this is the accepted normality now.

On the other hand, NFS 2015 PC version is delayed and it seems like the devs have really done their work, so this could turn out positive after all...

Personally, I think AC's core experience (the driving) will be 100% OK. The extra time is probably for AI and all those stuff to make AC appeal to gamers who will not be content with just hotlapping. So if you have been waiting for AC for the driving experience, I'd say get it at launch. If you want AC the complete package, probably wait 6 months for all the kinks to get ironed out.

The problem is that after the PCars debacle of "its delayed but because we want to polish it and make it bug free", and after believing that's what the delays were for only to have it released and now be waiting for patch 10!!! Well it rightly or wrongly has set a fear ball in motion in my head that all is not well....
I'd say now we've looking at the first delay here.
Us gamers dont set the dates and get all hyped up, they developers do, we get hyped and then we get disappointed, they could like not release a date till they are nearly 95% ready to roll, even more so after what happened with PCars....
If they want us to be hyped about a game coming out so we all buy, they need to deal with a bit of moaning why they delay it... deal with it.

The main difference here is that this game is already released on PS4 and XBox One. So all the bugfixes and upgrades will be there on PC release already. The PS4 and Xbox One took the hit with the first release(s). All EA did was split the pain across platforms. ;)

More on-topic: Kunos have never released anything outside of PC. Expect there to be issues and growing pains when they set their first steps on PS4 and XBox One, especially given their history with releases and patches. That said: I think it will be alright in the end. 👍

Sounds to me like he is crying about someone stealing something he has to legal right to sell. Not to sure what to think about that or if even anyone should care. Its like a scam artist crying about being scammed. Who cares? :mischievous:
im not squir so it doesnt effect me in any way. The bad people involved are those that stole from squir, that is the people simulating the viper and aspec. Aspec is covered because russian law doesnt care about anything, the viper chaps arent protected. I just did my job showing that a lot of stuff is dodgy about that setup. its a fantastic setup but it has a lot of stolen stuff behind it. Extremely unethical and illegal.

Also squir does actually have the licenses to make those cars and he does make a lot of models for manufactures themselves( i had a bad run in with him and he rightfully shut me off).

My own position, well I don't mind a delay, I prefer to have a legitimate reason expressed for it if possible. They are a much smaller team and if they cannot divulge much about it fine. What we do not need is BS like we got from P Cars developers who want to say how they are improving things giving the impression it is a positive and not induced by something negative about the development of the game. So they end up treating their customers like morons, that they can easily pull the wool over our eyes.

Really best to just be honest, the truth comes out in the end anyways when the game gets released.
I do wish we could have the Demo they showed recently to the gaming press and use that to help bridge the gap until the new actual release date happens.

I personally do not have much hope in this game having VR support on Playstation 4 especially with it so new and this such a small development team. I do praise them for having the individual audio sliders, thats going to be great for not just the audio preference but additional tuning for anyone using tactile or buttkickers etc.

If they are able to add support for playstation VR, then I am sure they will. After all, they do have oculus rift support on the PC version. But we all have to remember that the PS4 isnt exactly as powerful as a mid range gaming PC, and that in reality will be the limiting factor with VR in games on the PS4.

I think its like if you take your car into a garage to do something and they say it'll be ready next week, it gets to next week and they call you and go "Hey buddy bit more of a job than we first thought, give us another few days, cheers..", you kinda go, ok fair enough they are being through at least with my car..... but then if they call again and say "its not ready still", you kinda question "do these guys actually know what they are doing? Are they being through or doing bodge job after bodge job and chasing their tails".. That's kinda where SMS got to, I'll give Kunos one delay but any more now and I think we got problems...

Remember that SMS already had Shift 1 and 2 console builds behind them when they took on pCARS. Of course, they did pCARS without the usual studio QA team, and that was their big mistake.

Kunos have never tried console before, and are partnering (for the first time ever?) with another company (505) to get it coded. They will have a learning curve. They will be told at some point (like SMS were) to pick a release window which doesn't clash with big name alternatives.

In 6 months, when it's out and the post-launch patches have arrived... Then you can take a look at the result and judge.

The difference is that the garage actually has something of yours in their possession. Unless you paid and pre-ordered, Kunos doesn't owe you anything.

If I understand it correctly, the games only need to put out a solid 60 fps and Morpheus and it's accompanying hardware will do the rest including bumping the framerates up to 120fps. That's assuming it all works properly of course. Latency is expected to be in the teens I think, a nice boost for players normally on a TV or non-gaming monitor.

If AC on PS4 works with Playstation VR, it is going to be the travelling SIM racer dream come true, as soon as you have a room with a table, a chair and electricity, game on! :D

Christ you missed the point by such a huge margin I'm not sure explaining it will help you.

But here goes...

You order a nice meal in a restaurant, its expensive, you heard its the best place to eat with the finest chef....you order a dish, 30 mins later they come to table to say its not quite ready sorry for the wait...so you sit back, relax and drink some more wine...then they come back 20 mins later.. "sorry sir the chef is making sure your meal is to his highest standards".... you wait some more, "sir would you like some more wine?"..... after a bit you start to wonder what they are running here..

If the above is SMS and PCars the dish comes out and is amazing.... but its cold.

Restaurant is still under construction and not open for business :D

Actually the PC version have some significant differences, the biggest one being unlocked frame rate at 60 FPS (laughable for a game released in 2016, but anyway). Previous NFS have always been limited to 30 FPS, because the game physics can only run at that speed. Unlocking the FPS on PC results in the game moving 2x as fast and becoming unplayable. So the fact that they separated the physics from the FPS this time, shows that Ghost has done some serious work for PC version 👍

Anyway, back on topic: I'm surprised that the XB1 version will end up being inferior, what's with AC being originally developed on PC/Windows and the XB1 supposedly having similar architecture and OS to PC. Makes me imagine how amazing Forza will be when it's finally let loose on PC

This may be better : A guy bought a piggyback ECU for a modified JDM import with engine transplant ( he was going cheap ), the custom made piggyback ECU took weeks to be made, with couple of setbacks, the garage quoted 1 week time at first, then it went on to about 6 weeks to be ready. The guy was almost convinced the garage was talking big being able to custom made a piggyback ECU for an engine they rarely tuned...then it ran, a few dyno sessions, things still going rough, but improving nonetheless. Then the car is ready for track run, but the car keeps having issues after being pushed at the track and daily driven, there's always something that made the car a weekly visitor to the garage ( wiring gremlins, running lean, bad drivability, bad cold start, check engine lights ). The guy wonders if he should have taken the expensive route of well known professional standalone aftermarket ECU specific for the engine with a reputable ECU tuner.

The garage never realized until it's too late ( the engine crap itself ), the piggyback they sold and provide services was never up to the task for the engine it ran on ( highly modified that the factory ECU can't cope anymore and the fact that the factory ECU also "learns" that it trims / make corrections ), injectors and boost level were the 2 prime issues when being manipulated by the piggy back, and bad tuning leads to blown engine.

XB1 hardware is quite inferior to the PS4, especially in the graphics department. Should be no surprise that they are struggling to get 60 fps out of a game originally designed to run on mid-range gaming PC's. Porting Forza over to PC should be a lot more straightforward.
