Oh, so the load times are faster? I doubt that has anything to do with the overclocked GPU, but I didn't know the One-S also had a slightly faster HDD... or does it? It has the exact same RAM specs though.

I think I'm fine with my current console - I will eventually have to get external storage however, and I am eyeing one of those SSD drives to enjoy faster loading and install times.
i don't really know the exact differences, or how it plays out during use.
If it isn't faster, I'm quite impressed with the original.

Pretty sure its limited to slightly faster fps in games that do suffer from frame drops (AC, CARS etc.) and nothing else.

Aside from the fact that isn't true, I guess I would have to ask why you asked.

The S is tweaked. GPU, CPU, HDD and HDR. All with actual 4k blu ray and 4k netflix streaming. (At 60hz and comes with hdmi 2.0)

It's cheaper than a 4k blu ray player to boot.

However I can't give you measurments of speed. (Not a large difference for sure)

If none of that matters to you, the S has nothing for you.
Of course, this would contradict the statement that you enjoy seamless games, etc

My only concern is faster load times. I haven't yet bought into the whole HDR/4K deal and probably won't for a while. So technically speaking, getting a faster external HDD should have the same load times as a One S or maybe even faster.

As for the One S's HDD and CPU being tweaked too, I was not aware of that. According to what I've read up online, I thought only the GPU was slightly overclocked.

I suspect we will no longer get info now until each update has passed submission.
I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped supporting the game now, I doubt they're making much on DLC with the amount of people still playing (Their fault), they've fulfilled their obligations by putting out all of the season pass content. If the game goes back to a PC exclusive they can develop without the distraction of needing to adapt things for consoles and work exclusively with the customers they like.

Stefano said they will still develop updates for consoles even when people stop playing. After what happened with the release and all the broken promises, I doubt they make the same mistake again.

They said last year that they will support the game at least through 2017. That clearly isn't going to change as there is scheduled DLC. Then it's just a case of wether they think it's time to move on to AC2. I've seen a few people say "I bet they won't update console version anymore" or comments of that nature. I don't understand why people would think that when Kunos could have just moved on long ago and announced AC2.

Also do you really think if they now drop console development and stop porting DLC that they won't get a load of abuse?

So, still there are problems with the servers after all this time...

It's really frustrating to have just a couple of hours per week to play and then losing so much time just refreshing the servers and trying to join a room.

Ridiculous.

What issues are you having? I've not encountered any issues trying join a lobby.

Here's a sample of what was happening this afternoon (around the time I posted).

Notice the time it takes for something to happen... And more often than not, it ends with an error (as seen on 2:45).

This was today, but yesterday night it was the same. And the last I had played online, back in June, was the same.

Am I just unlucky?

Sorry just realised I haven't been online since yesterday, just saw that a few others have been having issues tonight. You chose the wrong day to go online lol.

Guys, any proof that AC on ps4 uses vFOV and not hVOF?!

This is my situation:
.TV dimensions: (46")
- width (for hFOV): 102cm
- height (for vFOV): 57.6cm
- aspect ratio: 16/9
.Distance eyes to tv perpendicular: 100cm

.FOV:
- hFOV: 54deg
- vFOV: 32deg

I just can't feel the 32deg VOF value! It's just too close and i can't seem to feel the car limits well!
I feel i drive better on the 54deg value!
Yet some insist that AC uses vFOV and not hFOV!
However, the fact that the values of FOV on ps4 were limited between 50 and 60deg (before last update) hints in my opinion that it's actually hFOV on ps4 and not vFOV!

What do you say guys?! I'm lost here!

Not sure if it helps, but Stefano talked a lot about FOV before the release of 1.14

Yes it was acting up a bit yesterday, never really had an issue before that.
Kept saying error unable to join room, or no servers found.

I share your view regarding 32° FOV. I can't drive for **** with it, I like the fact that it makes opponents cars look scale to real life, but it looks zoomed in regards to track.

I use to have mine set to 71° FOV then moved the seat forward, I have it around 65 now then move the seat forward. I try to compromise between sense of speed and visibility, and comfort rather than a realistic FOV.

Had a mate round a couple of weeks ago to try out AC, P CARS, & DC. He much prefered the physics of AC over P CARS, & didn't even mention DC! He's a hardcore GT player ever since the first game (bought a PS4 Pro & 4K TV just for the GTS Beta), & it's difficult to get him to try anything else, but he did really like AC out of those three.

I haven't fired it up since then, but am in the mood to drive some Porsches tonight.

Out of curiosity, wheel or pad? If he liked AC it's not surprising he never mentioned DC. It's a good game but the physics aren't very engaging to me. I'm just about to load DC up funny enough for my bimonthly 20 to 60 minute session. The minutes get lower each time though.

DC is a much better game than AC to me if you play it with pad. Polished, dynamic time and weather and especially a better pad control from out of the box and, what I think it's pure genius, the vibration of the pad works like force feedback.

With wheel... AC it's simply by very far the best option on consoles. IMO

Wheel, G29. I liked DC when it first came out, was just using the pad, it was 5 minutes of fun everytime I loaded it up, but am fed up with it now.

Agree 100%, the pad on DC is so well tuned, pick up & play. Haven't used the pad since GT3, but DC got me back into it. Love AC's handling, but also love P CARS; I fluctuate between what one I think is best.

@Donnced, I recently read one of your posts that mentioned the stuttering. Can you tell me, does that stuttering happen even while hot lapping, or running a Special Event/Career Mode Event, or racing with 4-5 friends? Or does it only stutter once you get up to 10-16 people on track? I don't know why I thought that problem was taken care of for everyone. :grumpy:

Hi mate, i was on holiday, sorry for the late reply .
About stuttering, yes,you can even got it going alone on track, some tracks as Barcelona GP has the worst stuttering of the game.
When you take damage and HuD change you get some little stuttering.

In hood view if you look and pay attention to the reflections in the hood, they are a bit laged all time.

You can have stuttering online with 4-5 cars.
And yes, with more than 10 cars on track it can become a good stuttering festival when you are racing in the pack and a bit more if you are taking damage and hud makes the switches to show the damage indicator.

I prefer really more the screen tearing the game got pre 1.03 than the stuttering since the AA filter introduction.

In the last update on Xbox One the people reported that there's an performance improvement...i hope to see one in PS4 in the next 1.15 update.

On The PS4 Pro with boost mode enabled people reports that assetto work at 60fps all time with no stuttering... Lets see if the devs can achieve that on the standard PS4.

I'm afraid people exaggerate and I discovered that because I upgraded to the ps4 pro from the regular ps4 just for Assetto Corsa and to get rid of all the stutters!
Running the boost mode improves the situation like 75% but doesn't completely solve it! It still lags and stutters sometimes especially when racing AI; didn't see it happen online even with a full grid.

The reflections quality (refresh setting, maybe?) was lowered to improve performance, which is still a bit wonky unfortunately. What they've achieved at the beginning was quite good, especially considering the super low FPS the game was hitting when Kunos made the first console build but I think there's room for further improvements.

Purchased and downloaded the game on the PS4 earlier thanks to the massive PS+ discount. I'm genuinely impressed by how s### the controller settings are out of the box. Even after trying plenty of other settings, it's still nowhere near acceptable. Urgh.

Gonna' let this game collect virtual dust on my hard drive until I get a proper wheel setup in the living room.

If it helps, leave all the settings predefined and "Speed sensitivity" and "Steering speed" in high levels (70-100 more or less). Also, if you want a proper third person view use this:

You can also set a limit to the visual movement of the wheel in video settings.
