That takes a whole month? Never been to Canada eh?:sly:

He said it was in a single day. :sly: He's not lying, I visited the UK once in late summer and I had to take a jacket with me everywhere but I'd only ever wear it for 10-20 minutes at a time because the temperatures would swing that quickly. I thought Indiana had screwy weather but we look as stable as San Francisco in comparison.

to be fair the UK doesnt really know what season it is ever.

last month we had snow, hail, rain, sun and thunder in a single day.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :P

Really glad to hear the reviews are positive so far. From Failrace, talking about the physics on the PS4 version vs. pc:

"They [physics] are spot on. They are actually fantastic. There was no adjustment time. As soon as you got behind the wheel of whichever car they were driving it immediately felt exactly like I expected them to. The cars behave as I would expect [based on having previously driven the pc version]"

That's great news :dopey:
If anyone is interested, here's Assetto Corsa latest japanese DLC which will be included in the game from day one on PS4.

I think it is about time Kunos released a new console gameplay video or a batch of screenshots at the very least. Keep Assetto Corsa in the conversation instead of Gran Turismo Sport getting all the attention.
Quite a lot came out with the little event they had at Vallelunga.

I don't know much about game development OR worldwide software distribution, so forgive me if I sound stupid here.

Assetto Corsa was supposed to come out in April and then it was delayed. They announced a new release date. Then, that release date was changed to sometime in August, I believe. How long BEFORE these games hit the shelves at GameStop do the discs need to be burned and packaged? I don't know how many copies of Assetto Corsa they are planning on creating in physical form, but I'm sure it's a fairly substantial number.

The reason I'm curious about this is because I'm wondering what version of Assetto Corsa will be on the discs that sit on the shelves of stores like GameStop and Best Buy. I wonder what cars are going to be included on the disc, since we just had the Japanese Pack - does it make the cut? Now, we know that the console version is going to be the same as the PC version, but there is most certainly going to be a day one update for console players, right? I'm just curious how big that update might be. Did the discs already get created? If so, then console users have to download all those Japanese Pack cars at a minimum. Get my drift?

So, the important question is...How soon before the game is available in stores do the discs have to be burned?

A gold master has to be done a month before release date to be sent for pressing discs AFAIK. Of course you can still work on a Day 1 patch during that month.

Thank you. I would have guessed at least one month, minimum. In fact, I wouldn't have been surprised if you said 60 days...

Towards the end of the last gen and definitely with this gen going gold doesnt really mean as much as it once did, its just the files that get sent to sony/microsoft(not about nintendo) and the files that put on disc, this is to check that they abide by their security aka assetto corsa isnt a large zero day virus that destroys millions of consoles. There are some other checks as well which i cant exactly remember and has likely changed since i was involved. There is almost a hundred percent chance of a day one patch for users. its always like that now. So the now "soft deadline" as my former boss called it isnt the most crazy part.

i was talking with one of the devs about this the other day. if the wheel is supported on the console then it will work with AC, its designed so even wheels that dont exist yet will also work with AC
My hopes and dreams crushed, but thank you.

I didn't realise Assetto Corsa was present at E3. I am very impressed with what I see and it makes me more anxious to get to play it.

When is PC expecting it's next Dream Pack?

Don't know but there is an announcement today at 2pm UK time. We are at BST at the moment so one hour ahead of GMT.

What a coincidence! I checked and it seems to be an Italian Pack so perhaps some Maseratis. MC12 would be great and the MC12 GT1 a dream addition to the game when it finally appears on PS4.
