Can someone tell me what I can expect from AC in terms of content or point me in the right direction .

Can you set up your own races / championships ?
Is there a working flag system and if so does it function well ?
What is the career mode like ?
Weather and time of day changes are they present ?
Multi class racing ?
Authentic race weekends with practice / qually / Race ?

Looking forward to this one , Project Cars has given me hours of fun and this looks like a great addition .
Thanks Chris

I think it probably also had to do with the fact that I just got a T300RS to play PCARS on PS4

That's a huge part of it, I'd wager the majority of PC sim racers will say that GTR/GTL/Race with a T300 feel way better than PCars with the same wheel. The T300 is considerably better feeling than a G27, enough that it's literally a game changer (I've owned both).

Can you set up your own races / championships ? Yes/Not yet but it may be coming very soon.
Is there a working flag system and if so does it function well ? There's flags, but right now they're only cosmetic.
What is the career mode like ? Better than GT6, not as good as PCARS
Weather and time of day changes are they present ? Unfortunately not, and probably not until AC2.
Multi class racing ? Kinda, but there isn't proper ranking and the AI can get confused by the slower class cars.
Authentic race weekends with practice / qually / Race ? Yes.

theres a bit of time of day changes from 6am to 6pm. like the opposite of nfs which only shows the night.

When you set up your own race, can you choose same car for the AI as you're driving (like pCARS) ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I though multiclass racing in AC was only available online, with offline custom races against AI being restricted to same class/same car.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to playing AC on my PS4.

Well, yeah, but it's all daylight so I consider it negligible since all it really does is move the shadows around. Generally when people ask about time change they mean night racing.

Yes, or you can mix and match different makes/models.

FS7

Could be. I thought you could pick any car from the list but I have not done much offline racing so I could be wrong.

EDIT: I know the new Ferrari F1 cars can't be raced against anything else, but I think that's pretty much to be expected with a modern F1 car in a non-Codemasters/F1 game.

Can anyone elaborate any further on career mode for me?

I'm a big fan of 90's DTM so the game has me excited but then PCars did too and there was no proper championship for those cars in that game so was v.disapponted!

Does anyone know how the DTM classics feature in AC career mode?

P.s. Is there also a championship for the lotus 98t f1 car too?

Thanks

There is a f1 based championship in which there is a race weekend event for the Lotus 98T(interface will look different of course on console.

If you cant find it in the campaign then there are the special event races. There is an event for just about every car, some get multiple events dedicated to them generally referencing some sort of race or special event that happened in the past

Thanks for the reply.

Are these championships with at least 5+ rounds?

Just really hoping this game fulfils where PCars let me down!

Since this game was on PC for awhile, does anyone know if it will have all the current packs in the game already or is it just a standalone game where you have to buy the content too?

It will have all the packs in the game, the only one that don't will be in it is the last one (Red Pack) this will be the first DLC of the game.

I think it's just one race weekend with the Lotus (I could be wrong though). Stefano has hinted that custom championships may be available by the console release (or soon after) so hopefully you'll be able to build any championship you want with any car(s) you want. 👍

yes its one weekend with each of the f1 cars in that championship.

Thanks for the info guys.

I will definitely get AC but think I'll wait for custom championships first as that's what I'm really hoping for hence why I felt PCars was a big letdown!

Well, there's plenty to keep you entertained until the custom championships arrive, no worries. You'll have to somewhat relearn your driving style from PCARS anyway so it would probably be best to run through some of the career mode and events for a while first so you can really get a feel for how the cars behave before starting your custom championships. 👍

I had to learn a new style in PCars so it's always fun to adapt again :) I'm in the minority but I'm glad there's no rain in AC. The weather ruined career mode on PCars for me

Granted I have not tried GTR/GTL/RACE with my T300. I own those games and they're on my computer, but my T300 is hooked up to my PS4 and it's a lot of work to change it over to my PC so I've never bothered.

Strong disagreement here. I went back to have a go at some old Simbin's titles last year and they are really showing their age. AC, pCARS and Raceroom, when properly configured, all blow them away for FFB.

I will add that pCARS, even on PC, is not the easiest to configure. Default T300 settings are pretty bad and you don't feel much except centering force until you tweak the steering gain down heavily in the advanced menu. After that pCARS can feel not far short of AC in many cars.

Possibly. But after literally dozens of hours of trying to get a good FFB feel in PCARS I gave up because I prefer to spend my sim time driving and not tinkering with settings. I thought R3E's FFB setup was a nightmare but PCARS made R3E look like child's play, one of my most frustrating sim racing experiences. I've only dabbled with the older games but for the most part I found the FFB to be quite pleasing, maybe not quite as good as AC, rF2, etc. but considerably better than the likes of GT or Forza. All a matter of opinion of course.

You will be getting every car and track listed in those first couple of posts EXCEPT for the ones marked "Red Pack". That list isn't 100% complete, however, because you'll also be getting the Ferrari 488, Praga R1 & Audi S1 too. It just hasn't released yet, so those cars aren't officially part of the game as of today.

I think I have a pretty good FFB setting for PCARS, and it feels pretty damn awesome. I think one of the most important settings, and the one that makes the most improvement to the overall feel, is reducing Fy in the individual car FFB settings.

Yeah, I tried lots of things. I could get it feeling ok, but never good. Of course I was comparing it to AC and R3E and rF2 so the bar was high. If I was on a console and comparing to GT or Forza or NFS I would have been satisfied with it and had fun with it, but when I had better options just a mouse-click away PCARS just didn't make the cut. I don't really have any animosity toward the game, it's just not for me.
