Alas the Fanatec Sony conflict has forced me to cancel my preorder.
Alas the Fanatec Sony conflict has forced me to cancel my preorder.
I don't think Fanatec ever announced anything of the sort. Their wheels work in PC mode if I'm not mistaken.I bet there is a lawyer out there that would love to here from any Fanatec owners that bought a wheelbase from the time Fanatec announced PS4 compatibility till when they said any future sales wont be compatible. Its a pretty clear case of false advertising.

I would like to live in a world where people don't just say what they want to get what they want.I'd like to live in a world where people didn't sue other people for every little mis-step or perceived injustice.
It use to be on their website until their recent statement that any future wheelbase sales wont be compatible. Fanatec said Sony asked them to stop listing them as compatible.I don't think Fanatec ever announced anything of the sort. Their wheels work in PC mode if I'm not mistaken.

I've no doubt it's out of their hands and it's the last thing they wanted, but they should have announced it long before now, not a week before the game's release. That's poor form.
Anyone care to translate?Or just the main points he makes?
They listed on their website that it was compatible with the PS4. It hasn't been compatible to date and isn't going to be for the foreseeable future. Is there any proof that Fanatec knowingly sold wheels they claimed were PS4 compatible that were indeed incompatible? Or are we just jumping to conclusions based on a small amount of information and a perceived injustice? If they knowingly sold wheels that wouldn't work on PS4 then yes, a lawsuit would be justified. If they genuinely thought they would be compatible but then after the fact Sony changed something that made them incompatible, that's hardly Fanatec's fault. I don't know what the case is, but I'm not going to jump to conclusions based on a butthurt forum post.
Cheers, dude. Top man 👍Loves the menus, says they are very intuitive
They can only show off 3 cars and 3 tracks pre release.
He likes the camera angles available.
Graphics are great, he hasn't noticed any hiccups, but hasn't tried online
Driving sensation is great, loves the physics and FFB
Laser scanned surfaces feel nice
He's surprised how good it feels and looks on console.
He recommends it to people that are still doubting
He likes the sounds, says on consoles they are the best
He thinks the aids are nice and progressive for newcomers
You really need me to tell you why?Is there any proof that Fanatec knowingly sold wheels they claimed were PS4 compatible that were indeed incompatible? Why's that? A week is still plenty of time to cancel a pre-order, nobody is out any money or time. If they waited until after it's released that could be poor form. Maybe they've been spending the last month working with Sony and Fanatec to figure out a way to get the wheels included and they just found out this week that no agreement could be reached? Maybe they did know for a while but didn't want to announce it sooner because they knew the internets would be flooded with butthurt? Could be any number of things that we don't know about, no point in jumping to conclusions just so we can point a finger at someone.
New steering wheels?
I have a TX wheel for more than 2 years and stil in perfect conditionLogitech G29. Because if it breaks they'll actually help you. I've heard too many bad stories from Thrustmaster to even consider it, no matter how good the product is. No amount of knocking on wood yadda yadda yadda

Kunos would've known about this for a long time.
Do you work for Kunos or something? You're very quick to defend them to the death at very short notice.
And was this due to deliberate and intentional mis-representation on Fanatec's part or was it due to Sony not holding up some part of their agreement or changing something last minute that made them incompatible, was it some combination of the two, or some reason entirely different? You don't know, I don't know, no point in jumping to conclusions until we have facts.
QUOTE]
It doesn't have to be deliberate or intentional. They claimed PS4 compatibility and they don't have it. They had no agreement with Sony and yet they still went right ahead and listed it anyway. How do I know they didn't have an agreement? Sony couldn't of backed out of a signed agreement without Fanatecs ok. If anyones butthurt its because Fanatec bent them over.

The problem there is that was suppose to be a temporary work around until they produced a PS4 wheel rim. That work around didn't make your base PS4 compatible as they claimed it was going to be. They marketed them as PS4 compatible and they are not. That's false advertising.
If you can provide facts that support this claim then you may have a case. But again, anybody can still cancel their preorder so no real harm is done other than some butthurt (which seems to be unavoidable anymore).
Nope, but I did get a bit of love from them on RD today even though they supposedly hate all their customers.

I read someone claiming on Eurogamer that there is an embargo until the 26th. That ties into the day 1 patch so if true the patch must be significant which sounds promising.Nice spot!
On the plus side: allowing reviewers to discuss the game and even share aspects of it, this soon before the release, is encouraging. It'd be much more concerning if 505 were keeping a lid on things until after it was in the hands of the public.
Some of my friends have the game already.
