I'm on PC
It is still exciting though, that's for sure.
I thought your country would get the game earlier. I believe the US will get the game on the 30th right?

Yes that's correct, Europe next Friday.

The trailer stated 16 players online.let's see if it'll be actually better than pcars....
since one month after release it became a great game. I already know I'll miss weather and dynamic time change.
food they state how many online players it supports? Less than 16 would grant a 90% no buy from me since Ai is started to be very very bad even compared to pcars.
Also spoiled by the car on track numbers.
I'll be in the window waiting for non fanboys or PC gamers reports on stability, online and tearing.
Can't wait.
16 cars for online, was going to be 12 but so many people got pissed that they rewrote the graphics engine to be more efficient. showed a 30% improvement in fps on pc so slightly same on console hence 16 players online and offline.let's see if it'll be actually better than pcars....

I use Content Manager to control Assetto Corsa instead of the default Launcher/UI which I think is slow and not the greatest looking. Anyway, a sweet feature in Content Manager is the ability to put a minimum AI % and a maximum AI % -- that way you can have a varied amount of skill among the AI. I don't use a huge range like 70% & 95%, but even something like 80% & 87%, for instance, you'll get that variable skill level instead of having every AI car drive with the same exact skill level. Just another awesome feature of Content Manager.1-100 is too much detail for AI. Can you really see a difference between 58 and 64? I use it in 10-point increments so it's more of a percentage. 70% for Amateur, 80% for Intermediate, 90% for Advanced, and rarely do I use 100% for Expert. PCars is just too aggressive for that. They also rarely show signs of fatigue, they maintain that pace for the whole race and it's tough to keep up.
FOV, yea I'd like more options there but I didn't ever mess with that stuff in PCars outside of forward and back. Does Assetto Corsa have a look-to-apex though?
Someone posted this on the official forum, sounds legit:
Quote from Fanatec
"You might have already noticed that we have removed the icons to show the PlayStation compatibility on our website. So what does that mean?
As part of the licensing process for a new, officially licensed racing wheel, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has asked us to stop promoting our unlicensed wheels as beeing PlayStation compatible and we are happy to comply with that. As soon as we have a fully licensed PlayStation wheel on the market, we will officially announce the compatibility again.
If you already purchased a Fanatec product with previously promoted PS3 or PS4 compatibility, basically nothing will change for you. The compatibility for those wheels still depends solely on the game developers and if they decide to add/keep support for their wheels in their games or not.
If you purchase a new wheel from us from now on we will only guarantee the PC or Xbox One compatibility as advertised.
I hope you understand our position and rest assured that we do everything to make our products as compatible as possible."
That's alarming.Just watched a friend play he has the game already and he says it's a nightmare to drive with controller even harder than P.cars...
That's exactly how you should read it, well said !!Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but what I'm reading here is: We (Fanatec) were selling steering wheels advertised as PS4 compatible even though we never actually received PS4 Compatibility Certification from Sony. Sony called us on that deception, so we agreed to stop promoting our Non-PS4 Compatible wheels as being PS4 Compatible. We are working on making a wheel that totally is 100% PS4 Compatible and once we do, we'll label that wheel as such. If you already purchased a wheel with the PS4 Compatibility promise, nothing will change for you - you're still screwed owning a wheel we told you was PS4 Compatible even though it really wasn't/isn't. However, we're trying to pass responsibility onto the game developers for not making their games compatible with our fraudulently advertised wheels.
Just watched a friend play he has the game already and he says it's a nightmare to drive with controller even harder than P.cars...
this is him playing p.cars with the controllerCould you please be more detailed in explaining the nightmare, like the assist used, car/track/tire, your friend eexprience with racing games, specific on the issue, lag or input response or unstable rough input like instant turning or on/off 100% gas/brake ? Did he used the shoulder button for gas/brake or analog stick ?
this is him playing p.cars with the controller
so I'd say he is very experienced with racing games...
Didn't asked him that...also he has Prestige edition and he managed to redeem the code for 9 locked cars wich is a bit strange...With such experience, what made AC a nightmare on controller ? It's not like Shift nightmare ? Did he checked controller options or make any adjustment ?

I did not know that, it is a really sweet feature, thank you for sharing.

This is where problems will occur, people not used to proper sims.
I thought the Prestige Edition is supposed to give you those 9 additional cars. Why would that be strange?Didn't asked him that...also he has Prestige edition and he managed to redeem the code for 9 locked cars wich is a bit strange...
The codes works as they should, the server is up right ? Did he update it already with day 1 patch ?
I just asked him, there were no updates yet...
Because the game isnt out yet but maybe that doesnt matter obviouslyI thought the Prestige Edition is supposed to give you those 9 additional cars. Why would that be strange?
Also, I think that's beyond lame that there are two different versions to begin with.. Just give everybody the same gosh darn cars!!!
The video looks like there's no damping on the input. I'm one of the PC players who played both AC and PCARS with a controller (as I don't hook up my G27 to my laptop, contrary to my gaming rig) and the video shown is definitely not my experience. When I tried it, AC was lot easier to get into with a controller than PCARS, and after fiddling with the settings that difference became only bigger (never got PCARS to handle nicely with a controller to be honest). The steering animations are from year 1992 and the player struggles a lot. I don't know what to make of it. PC players have never complained about using controllers in AC. Kunos recently published a video, which might be deceptive, showing how playable the game is with both wheel and controller. Perhaps that was a newer build than what's printed on discs. Hard to say.
Where did you get AI is very very bad from? That is contrary to videos I have seen, not least because most videos haven't stated what difficulty level they're playing on. As for the number of online players, yea less than 16 would a massive let down. Having said that, I've never joined a lobby on other racing games with 16 players and it was good. I'd say I've only had good races with no more than 8 players. Not including leagues mind you.let's see if it'll be actually better than pcars....

From videos I've watched they have been saying the controller is pretty good already on default. Also reg. BCC, we were worried about Drift track not being in the game but it clearly is, so maybe BCC is and also Trento. Trento damn well better be.That's alarming.
