Admittedly, it wasn't as sophisticated as today's wheels and game physics weren't too advanced, but I never felt it enhanced my experience due to sitting in a soft sofa while using a coffee table as wheel stand. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I have serious thoughts about getting a wheel for AC as I'm not denying that wheels provide the best sensation, but the living room logistics are still a factor causing hesitance on my part.

PlayStation Challenge was the answer for me. Quick to set up and folds away, yet incredibly stable.

No the performance pack is a completely separate add on to the season pass so as zlays said there was no point of preordering the game unless you pre ordered at a retailer offering the prestige pack.

Khm, guys - yes, it would be better to remap buttons in-game, and I hope for you it will come... Until then, you CAN remap buttons in PS4 menu. It is a bother 'cause it will carry-over in other games, but that's at least an option.

For me, I'm not attracted that much to wheel FFB, I have owned a wheel before, long time ago in the 90's, Thrustmaster T2 wheel for PC, also played a lot of arcade cabinet racing game with wheel and H shifter ( F355 Challenge with clutch, Sega Rally, Daytona USA and Battle Gear which is very good for drifting/self centering/counter steer ) during my younger days. Have a mate who owned a wheel as well, played with it on several occasions, I still prefer real car steering wheel

I didn't mean any of that stuff, I meant things like FPS, reflections, AA, FXAA, crepuscular rays, world detail, etc., things that effect performance. If those things need to be included on a console to improve performance the dev has not done a good job of optimizing the game for the hardware.

Devs have freedom to decide what to include in options, but more options is always a good thing and some of the things I mentioned do variably affect performance, like motion blur ( Alien Isolation on PS3 ), screen size and image quality ( GT5/6 ), mirrors in racing game ( TOCA 2 PSX comes to mind ).

This wasn't meant to screw anyone who preordered Performance pack (like myself), it is rather for people that will be buying game after release - it would be totally counterproductive not to give them those 3 car for free, since absolutely everyone who preordered will also have at least those.

After some more testing and playing with ffb settings i have some advice for people who still have doubts about AC :

BUY THE GAME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!

The driving model (physics an ffb) is MIND-BLOWING, it's so addictive to drive a car that you can forgive all the shortcomings.

First 30 min of play : good, but not as good as pCARS
Next 30 min of play : hmm, maybe it's as good as pCARS
Next 30 min of play : OMG, it's freaking awesome, it's MUCH better than pCARS

It's my favorite, love the way it slides around and you're constantly sawing the wheel. Not the fastest but it manages to feel fast and it's hella fun. I've always thought it was a sexy beast too.

The closest I see is Square for down, and X for up. But someone else here on the last page said you can adjust the PS4 buttons through the Console Menu differently, meaning assign buttons differently. I think it was on page 87.

Seen from talking to a friend that to procede online from qualy to race, all in the lobby have to vote to continue to race, and all through the qualy session anyone can vote to restart session and it then starts over.......What was the thinking behind that idea?

Can you change those other games to match the AC configuration? The human body/brain is amazingly adaptable, I'm confident that you could adapt to it after a day or two. I recently had to use my left hand on the mouse for about a week at work due to a sore right wrist. It felt very strange and foreign at first but by the end of the second day I was almost as good as with my right hand. I agree that you shouldn't have to change and hopefully they'll address this issue sooner than later, but you can adapt if you can give it a day or two, then you can at least enjoy it until they do address it.

Well mate, it's up to you. The Game is worth adjusting the button's. And be honest, you don't play every game just for 10 minutes especially when you say you have been playing racing games for this long

As far as i know no there isnt, i hope there is some way to connect it to the RSR leaderboards. If it supports sending information to an app like pcars does and like ac allows on pc then times can get grabbed from there and RSR or another team will forward that information to their leaderboards.

Where there is a will there is a way. This is the AC community, the number of coders and devs in this community is crazy and AC is at the head of car based modding right now.

You might have to wait a bit but it should give you a chance to practise because we all know it will be all out war once the leaderboards open.

Also camera angles, two chase cams one close one far, hood cam, bumper cam and two interior. One interior with "correct fov" and no wheel and one where you can see the wheel movement and its got higher but user set fov.

Well... Here's other that joins the amazing AC club!
I went for my copy at in the afternoon.
Put it in my PS4 and downloaded the 1.01 update.
First i looked through the options, and begin to play the game with the controller, cause my little son was playing in the living room where i got my console and don't mounted my wheel.

The game is enjoying on the controller, the vibration give a basic well working FFB with what's going on with the car and feeling of track,the only annoying thing are that you can't change the button mapping, you only got 3 presets... On the advanced settings i only change the steering sensitivity and wheel deadzone...Here you go guys, it's in Spanish, but they work very nice.

I find the controller is really well implanted, in a level between Pcars and dirt Rally.
With the Update, i didn't get a single crash, no framedrops, just a little bit screentearing.
The AI impressed me for good! They are pretty quick...now I'm playing in difficult level. And the cars with factory aids.

I was still a bit disappointed for the no private online lobbies... But then i mounted my wheel... And the game change from night to day... WOOOOOW! Mind-blowing!
I LOVE IT! What a FFB just out the box...you feel all about the car and track.. I tried the PC version some times...With a better wheel than mine..but i can say that physics and FFB from console are equal to the PC version..
So i only can say that kunos accomplished the promise they did on that..
It just blows Pcars FFB away.... Amazing!
The two presets of wheel buttons are nice, tweaked a bit the advanced FFB settings (very easy) and then i realy begin to enjoy driving.. Ah, i forget.. The sounds are really good too..my neighbours will love me even more now

After hours of fun driving with the wheel.. I just forget the private online lobbies thing..
It's needed, but now i can say that i can wait for it peacefully..

The IU is simple, intuitive and fast..
And no mayor bugs,issue's, no game crashes, no landmines..... What a difference of launch quality with the Wookie game

If anyone doubt about assetto... Don't do it! Go for it now!
