You cant. There are button pre-settings you can choose from. That's all.

Can you assign custom controls to the wheel? Are external keyboards supported?

Fixed to wheel and controller support
Hope that doesn't mean they removed the Fanatec support. :nervous:

Edit: Apparently it does. That's a tough blow. Hope Sony and Fanatec can get their s:censored:t sorted out quickly because this doesn't benefit anyone.

Was gonna ask the same question when I read that. Is it possible for someone who buys this, who has a Fanatec wheel, to disable auto update on their PS4 and see if the wheel works? Or rather than disabling auto updates, just pause the AC update and never let it finish.

Edit: Although, looking at the other patch notes, the wheel might work, but the game will probably freeze up and crash a bunch lol.

The devs have to pay Sony/Microsoft for every update. If they are willing to pay more Sony/Microsoft will rush it and get it out in a day or two, otherwise it can take a week or two.

They were working before the patch, but due to some directive from Sony the patch removed it. Not Kunos doing (to my understanding). Pretty bizarre turn of events, no logical reason for it other than Sony wanting to put their foot down.

That's one scenario, but we still don't know if it is Sony or Fanatec who've pulled the plug. I would be more leaning toward it being Sony, because Fanatec have a long history of not paying Sony for licences (piggy backing off the G25 for the entire PS3 gen lol), and Sony might have just had enough of it after seeing Fanatec advertising PS4 support when they don't have a licence or an official wheel. However, it could be Fanatec's doing, because they're close to launching their new CSL base, likely with a PS4 compatible rim, and they might have simply told Sony to stop allowing devs to use drivers for their old wheels, so they can push the new wheel on everyone, a-la Logitech.

Either way, it's the end user that suffers. **** the lot of 'em I say, I'll use a GIMX to make my wheel work for the remainder of this gen, and build a gaming PC instead of a console for next gen. I'm over all the stupid politics of the console makers (Microsoft is no better than Sony in that regard).

There are videos of a Fanatec working on a PS4 pre-patch but the patch removed it. According to the AC, Fanatec, and PlayStation forums it was a directive issued by Sony to the devs to disable Fanatec functionality. This is why F1 2016 doesn't work with Fanatec either even though it apparently did during the Beta testing. So both games are capable of working with Fanatec gear but they're waiting on some kind of approval from Sony to deploy it.

Well.. I travelled in the future (Australian PS Store... And here is all the information about the season pass..

That really sucks for first day release. I wanted a Fanatec but opted for Thrustmaster. I feel no joy in seeing those who have shared knowledge about the game with me and others not able to play on day one.

I hope Sony and Fanatec fix this right away. Why make paying customer suffer because of their pissing contest?
Those who go to PC let me know. I am happy to come race with you there.

I know the situation, and I know Fanatec have said it's all because Sony changed their policy regarding wheel support, which was previously "it's up to devs to include drivers, and peripheral manufacturers to provide the devs with the drivers". So this is suggesting that Sony now won't allow any non-official products, but it's funny how TM's non-official wheels all work with F1 and AC...

Perhaps once Fanatec have paid Sony the fee for their upcoming official licenced wheel, that will mean Sony will allow their old wheels to work again, as they do with TM. If the official wheel comes out, and the old wheels still don't work, then that will be Fanatec's doing.

That will be Fanatec's doing, yes. But not paying for PS4 licence already like Thrustmaster did, is also Fanatec's doing.

Don't get me wrong, besides t300 I have GT3RS and it would be so much more easy to sell with PS4 compatibility. Or maybe then I wouldn't even own that t300 ;)

The very reason I bought a CSR and not a T300, was the CSR was half the price of the T300, and a friend of mine sold me his CSP V1s for just $50 (Aussie dollars, which is like 1 pound 50 :P). I really dislike the T300's pedals, and having used the CSPs for a while now, I wouldn't like going back to plastic potentiometer pedals again. If I wanted a T300 now, I'd have to spend around $450au for the wheel, and something like $160au for a CPX adaptor, to use my CSPs with the T300.

That's all money I'd rather spend on my real car, when I've already got a full wheel rig that should bloody work lol.

Does anyone know whether the controller and the wheel can be used simultaneously? Just like pCars in ps4, controller is a much better device to navigate the user interface, my t300rs would do but the d-pad experience on Thrustmaster wheel is frustrating....

By my math it covers nearly 40 cars and a track, that's just over a dollar an item I believe.

it is a nice deal, for sure. however, if you look at the massive list of upcoming cars, there is at least 30 to 40 that arent a part of those included dlc packs.

Force Feedback : 50 (40 if you don't like strong ffb / standard=100)
Curb ffb : 40
Road ffb : 50
Slip ffb : 20
Understeer Effects : on
May I ask why the ffb is reduced by half (From 100 to 50)? Is that a sort of way to simulate power steering, or the default ffb is too strong?

Can't speak for Rocco, but I prefer a less 'tough' FFB, as it's not realistic at all in most cars. Furthermore, on low-end wheels like my G27 (same applies to G29, etc.), having FFB maxxed out means you drown out the details when steering because of clipping. E.g. when turning and hitting kerbs, the FFB goes immediately to 100% (steering) and you don't feel the subtlety of the kerb anymore because it's drowned out (can't go past 100%). Especially on a low end wheel (less bandwidth because of more deadzone and not so high power) you can have detailed FFB or strong FFB, but not both at the same time. And I prefer detailed. On a high-end wheel you will have more bandwidth, so more room to crank up the volume so to speak.

Hi guys looks like I will getting this and getting my T300 wheel back up and running again, I was wondering if someone could confirm on PS4 disc/digital (some of you know I like my car pictures) if there is a photo mode built in the game like on PC (I believe)..I can't find much information on this and it would be great if there was rather than screen grabs/shots..
I asked before release and I am sure I was told there was no photomode so just for an update really.

p.s nice to read the positive comments, all I remember is race pro on last gen console by sim bin trying to port on a machine with not enough power so pleasing to hear the new gen consoles seem to be up to the job!👍

Does anybody know if they said anything about private lobbies coming to console?
Although I enjoy the single player, I think it;s a big miss having no private lobbies.

It was confirmed on Twitter (by AC itself) that the console version would have a photomode but it would be nice to see an actual "yes" by the people who already play 👍

edit: graphically it is underwelming on the consoles. Pretty shocked by it actually :ill:

Now I know why they never released official gameplay videos of the Xbox version.

Terrible. These hickups are messing with the controls.

I think I've had enough. The physics are great though.

Season Pass costs only 29.99€
I never expected that considering we paid 20 for the Porsche Expansion in FM6 alone.
Meaning 39 Cars plus Red Bull Ring. Im in ;)

Is this direct capture or recorded from a stream?
