Upgrade is great game looks so much better 4K 60 fps and smooth also got all my dlc upgraded to ps5 all for free thankyou kunos you are the best I will be supporting all new dlc coming this spring and summer
Percentage-wise, how much better are we talking the game looks? Can you see further?

Watching Ollie’s stream… he was bitching about the mirror looking like ass…. Which it does. He must not play ACC at all because the mirror looks like that even on PC. His main complaints were the same complaints that I think all us console guys have with it, being the general clunkiness of the menus and having to change our steering rotation degrees with each car. The online lobby’s. The lack of a in depth career. So on and so forth.

I think he’s viewing it through a Gran Turismo lens, and this setting himself up for failure. Much like me when I first tried the game out.

So what’s the verdict from you guys? Good upgrade? Worth hanging onto the old ACC and not deleting it?

Someone here just said you only need set your max wheel rotation it seems, was on ps5 i think.

Gt7 will probably look better but not look as realistic as acc I will buy gt7 because it will be fun to in 10 days I’ll compare but I’ll have fun with both

Do you mean dead zone?

I am debating giving it a try but if the game is having wheel problems, I'll easily wait for a fix.

Any idea when 1.8 will drop?
No bro it’s not a dead zone… the wheel functions throughout all movement it just if you turn the wheel side to side or just turn in general the beginning movement feel real sluggish… it’s a weird sensation. Still the game feels and sounds amazing but something is throwing me off a bit…

Hopefully someone can confirm.

I mean, setting the rotation per car takes all of 30 seconds. But this day in age where even a recent flip phone convert like me is starting to get picky and stuff with what I consider an “inconvenience”, it’s not THAT big of a deal I suppose

Above all, I just wish that ACC had tuning tutorials in game. Especially since tuning per track is so huge.

But then again, I wish Gran Turismo did a better job of this too.

Depending upon on the depth of button mapping that Gran Turismo 7 hopefully allows us, and how much I get into ACC….. I could see myself getting a second Mclaren rim so I could have each one mapped specifically for the separate titles

Found the update easy enough, and the previously owned DLC. All loaded. Ran several cars. The M4 is nice. But, no setups carried over. All saved data was there. I need to remap buttons and adjust the in game wheel settings. As others have said, numb vauge feel

Pause the game, view settings has alll the FOV you need
Playing on series x looking a little bit better but not much,FFB is amazing now,not able to find how to change fov tho, anybody found it

Does the DOR adjust automatically now or do we still rely on our multiple control saves?
In control settings, put the steering lock to your maximum, there's now a steering wheel icon to show calibration, then DOR will be correct for every car

Same for me bro but something still seems off… it’s way better but something feels strange like in the small middle movement i do with the wheel
This is exactly what I started feeling after 1.8 was released on pc. It’s almost like there’s a dead zone on the steering. Felt the worst on the Mclaren. I’m on a g29 if that means anything.

If it’s the same issue, I’m not totally sure how to fix it. I turned my steering lock up to 1080, and always use the lowest steering ratio on the car setup, but it still doesn’t feel right.

Yea like it’s killing the game for me a little bit because I’m having a hard time feeling what the car is doing because of the mushy feeling… this was not like this for the PS4 version so that’s why I’m a little confused… I’m probably going to download the PS4 version again to test it out.

Is this “update”, actually an update?

And by that I mean different physics and such from the previous console version of ACC?

There is a pit lane bug at Nurburgring ring. Just did a 30 minute race and 20 of the AI was disqualified. The pit lane speed warning was coming up on the main straight. Any body else experience this?

Great update, can’t get past the start screen without the game crashing. Tried deleting and reinstalling but still the same issue.

Can someone check if you can map the right stick yet in the button layout? If not, I’m not even going to bother with this *****, just wait for gt7..

I got home tonight and when I turned on the Series X it either the update loaded instantly or it had already loaded but in any case it was there. Seeing what everyone else had reported about vague steering, numb steering, dead spots, I feared the worst. But happily I don't feel any difference whatsoever. It still feels just as good as before the update.

I only ran two races one at Brands Hatch in the Ferrari and the other at Bathurst in the Bentley. At Brands Hatch it seems like I didn't notice any popping in of the trees as before the update but at Bathurst some bushes on the left going down Conrod seemed like they were popping in a little but it was very minor. The one thing in the Bentley I did notice was the mirror and rear camera did look terrible. But in the Ferrari they looked just fine. Maybe it's an individual car problem? One other thing I noticed in the Bentley was going down Conrod there was some strange flickering on the steering wheel. I definitely didn't look like shadows. It was more like pixelation.

I did run a few practice laps at Silverstone in the M4. It feels pretty good.

But overall the update isn't amazing, game changing, etc. it's just sort of meh.

Thanks for reply, someone told me about the fov last night, but i didn’t no about the rotation, great info 👍

I read somewhere in this thread if you delete your old game replays this will fix it

Definitely has issues, no lap times being recorded in multiplayer, no position shows, the steering has changed and is a little weird now, desperately needs a patch

Some lobbies are okay and some have this problem where the laps and position does not show.
I played for 3 hours last night (PS5/G29) and did not encounter any crashes or bugs apart from that.
It plays a lot smoother and the graphics are a lot sharper even though there are car liveries with some pretty low res sponsor logos still.

If I remember correctly the last time I updated the firmware ( T300 ) it was set to 900dg.
So ingame setting at 900?
Max for the wheel is 1080 but I think it calibrates to 900 at startup.

Ok so the update (at least on Series X) has improved graphics a lot (IMO) certainly has a nice smooth look to the graphics both in looks and movement, however as for the claimed 60fps I will caveat this by saying it’s most but not all off the time , effectively it’s not a locked 60fps.

It’s great that you can now race in glorious sunlight without the framerate tanking , albeit it does show hints of slow down still, some circuits are better than others. I used to find B/Hatch took a major hit but now it’s more than playable however Oulton Park is worse, even resorting to only 22 cars (21 + me) and running on a cloudy day it still exhibits slowdown to the extent I can’t play it.

However chasing down cars around Donington with the sun glinting off the cars is quite spectacular now and overall it feels like the car response is smoother input wise.

So it’s got some way to go still, I hope they can utilise the FSR element of the S/X chip in version 1.8 so we get the same performance increase that the pc version received albeit something tells me we may not, either way some extra optimisation is needed at present, not tried any online yet but I understand there’s issues there still also.

Oh and forgot to mention the mirrors are still not the best but high end pc’s struggle so for a £450 box it’s not doing so badly.

Hello😅

This should be eye opening for people claiming the visuals are not greatly improved (watch in 4k full-screen)

It’s odd I’ve seen some posts that claim there’s no difference and I have to question the intent of such responses because clearly it’s a lot better the minute you boot up.

Update: This works. 900 steer lock and then the game set the DOR correct.
Thanks Tool1312.

I'd like to see a comparison between the updated PS5 game and the PS4 version running on PS5 with the console set to 1080p.
EDIT: they do show it at the end, but only to highlight the fact the new version doesn't have smooth wheel animation... Which kinda sucks...
I'm hoping the frame rate is as good though.

The only thing that setting the PS5 to 1080 did was having the PS5 handling the upscaling rather than the game itself.

However the game handled the upscaling it led to a very soft image whereas locking the PS5 to 1080 gave you a very sharp upscaled image.

The native PS5 version puts out a way higher res and does not need any of this and looks way better still.

At this point I wished some studio hired kunos for the physics and audio and took care of everything else.

They don’t know how to make a console game that caters console players.

Have not noticed any problem with the wheel animation.
Working DOR is so nice.

What FOV are you guys using?
I know there is a ”right” way to calculate the FOV.
But it does not work sitting 3 meters from a 75” tv.
I lowered the default 54 to 45 and moved the seat, feels good for now.
