I had a little more time tonight to mess with ACC and something is definitely not right with the FFB. It feels like it's been numbed a bit. I ran the Ferrari at Imola and the curbs in sector 1, I can hear them but I can't feel them. Now go too far over to the backside of the curb and I can feel that but not quite as much as before the update. Up at Variante Alta before the update I could feel those curbs if I barely touched them, clout the sausage curbs and I REALLY felt that. Now even the sausage curbs aren't that strong.

But what's really troubling is the numb feeling of the car in turns. I don't get the feeling of resistance from the track in turns. It's just smooth, numb. Going down the straight the wheel jumps around like you're going over bumps but even those feel smoothed off a bit. But not being able to feel the track in turns makes it hard to feel you're pointing the car in the right direction. I'm just getting the stiffness of the wheel. Going into Acque Minerali before I would dive down the hill, clip a little inside curb, slam on the brakes, take a little inside curb again before heading up the hill. All the while along with the stiffness of the FFB I could feel the slight skidding of the tires across the asphalt and the slight bumps from the curbs. Now that's gone except for the stiffness of the wheel.

I've been using the Fanatec recommended settings for this wheel.

CSL DD

Tuning Menu Settings:

  • SEN Manual adjustment per car
  • FF 100
  • FFS Peak
  • NDP 50
  • NFR Off
  • NIN Off
  • INT 2
  • FEI 100
  • BLI User Preference
  • SHO 100
  • BRF User Preference
In-Game Settings:

  • Steer lock: 1080
  • Gain: 100 (temporary suggestion due to the low in-game signal strength)
  • Min Force: 0
  • Dynamic Damping: 100
  • Road Effects: 0
Exceptions: Gain 75, Steering lock set per car, FFB reduced to 50 after the update.

I did try and make some changes, Gain to 100, Road Effects to 25 and nothing changed.

Consoles are not that far behind 1.8 will put them in parity with pc
It will never be in parity with PC, even if we catch up on version numbers. Just little things like grid sizes and all the bugs. Are rolling starts fine on PC?
I love the game but PC will always be ahead.

If we take 1.8 as a new game, consoles haven't even started. I am not sure how their branching works but it must be rather hard. PS and Xbox have its own SDK with its own launcher and its own bugs. If everything was prepared, 1.8 could be insertable into it. As we can see, it's probably not the case. Maybe they work on separate 1.8 version for consoles. I don't care about 1.7 at all, it's so different from gaming perspective.

Have you tried deleting your wheel profile? Do this then unplug the wheel, plug back in then it should go back to default settings. Then tune to your preference.

I haven't tried that. Delete the wheel profile in the game? I didn't even know it had that.

When you’re doing this, are you unplugging then plugging back in while in the game?

@Jezza819, it’s the saved wheel profiles. Are you manually changing the DOR for each car or did you save them?

I manually change DOR. I don't remember ever saving a wheel profile.
I’m sorry for giving unsolicited advice but I hope this might add value. If you’d like to, you can save individual presets for a group of cars that use the same DOR. I believe you can have 10 presets. You’d just need to name them accordingly so you remember what cars they’re for. From there if you’d like to adjust FFB gain for different cars, just bind buttons on your wheel.

This patch seems to have fixed all the issues I encountered, now I've reached the boring grinding stage on GT7 it's about time I just back on ACC.

Still unbeatable on track this game.
Does the ai still bash into walls at the start?

I have no idea, I've never tried it. I just prefer doing it manually. It's what I've always done. I might try the automatic thing at some point.
I tried the auto setting after the next gen update, and it worked for a bit until I launched the game again and my wheel button settings had gone, so had to go back and use my saves again.
Hopefully this latest patch has corrected the control save issues...

I can't even use my T300 yet. Successfully updated the firmware to V34, but wheel will not switch into PS5 mode [light doesn't change colour when mode button is held for 5 secs]. Still working as normal in PS4 mode. apparently I'm not the only one with the issue, others have are reporting same issue to Thrustmaster, so will have to wait for new firmware.

have any of you guys had the same issue with the T300 on PS5?

Sounds more like a thrustmaster issue rather than game issue?

I haven't updated my T300 for a couple of years so it's only on the PS4 mode. Don't know what the difference is anyway as it seems to work normally. Or rather, it did after the new gen update, haven't played since the lastest patch so hopefully it's still ok.

Interesting. In the ACC Controller options menu, does the game recognise you have your T300 connected? Mine doesn’t.

Minds working fine, but I also don't need to hold the button in, it switches between the two modes depending on if I plug it into my PS4 Pro or PS5, the difference between Orange and Red isn't the clearest in some lighting.

Yes, but as I say, I haven't played for a few weeks. All was fine after the next gen update, although the FFB felt a little stronger so turned it down a bit.
You haven't accidentally got it set to PC mode I take it?
