Why should I?
It works fine. W7 costs $100 plus the cost of AC. Not worth it.
I see absolutely NO reason for me to shell out for Windows 7.

The ability to play A.C. not reason enough? Is $100 really that much?

Lmao, so lame!
I don't want any noobs in my sim :P

But seriously. I don't think that's a big deal at all, hopefully this'll be a good way of weening in people that want to sim race but feel it's too hard. More racers always = more fun.

And hey, iRacing has driving line assist now too.

Those shots are freaking amazing!

LET THE HYPE TRAIN COMMENCE CHOO CHOO *************!

Edit:
And oooo, just realized we can do a really nice comparison between pCars and AC with the 79's cockpit:

I really prefer the look of AC over pCARS.
Me too AC looks incredibly good but in the end they both looks great, if there's something I can't complain about with pCars that's graphics.

Surely they are the TOP of racing genre, there is no Forza or GT that can compete with that, not with nowdays consoles.

Does anybody know if this game has a chance to come out on the consoles? Maybe like in a year or so after the PC release. As for me i would like more sim type racing games for the PS3 and PS4!

It would only be able to be ported over to the next Xbox or PS4, so yeah it's possible but unlikely. It would need to be hugely hugely successful on PC, then get picked up by a major publisher, then have the actual motivation to do so, which I'm not sure they have. Although every one wants to make money right? And Kunos could stand to make a lot by releasing on next-gen consoles. They would probably need to come up with a thorough singplayer campaign though, which is something against their tradition, but who knows?

Thanks Wardez! The reason i asked about being on consoles, was because me and PC DO NOT get along!

Update just posted on their facebook page:

First of all all, we would like to apologise for the lack of updates and news related to the release of Assetto Corsa. We have been working very hard on the Assetto Corsa project and before we make any more announcements we have had to wait until everything is in place. Now, at last, we can share some important information with you, our fans.

Almost a year ago, on December the 23rd, 2011, we announced that we are developing a new PC racing simulation, “Assetto Corsa”. Our aim was to be able to release the game one year later, during 2012’s holiday season.

We will not reach this goal. Assetto Corsa has been delayed and the release is now expected within 1st quarter 2013, as some of you may already know. The “Assetto Corsa technology preview”, a graphics benchmark, expected to be released in 2012, has been delayed too.

We know a lot of people are keenly waiting for the release of Assetto Corsa, and we wish to thank them for the support they have given us since we announced our most ambitious project.

If you are an experienced gamer you will already be aware that these kind of delays can happen, and will know as well that reasons for such delays can be boring. But, trust us, this is not the case, because the reasons behind our decision to delay Assetto Corsa for a few weeks are the best possible.

We just ask you to remember that what you have seen, what we are able to show you, is just the tip of the iceberg. It is not possible for us to help you understand the amount of work we have put in, as well as the many situations that can determine some of our choices.

Anyway, on December, 21st 2012, at 21.00, European time, please connect to www.assettocorsa.net, or www.facebook.com/assetto.corsa , or https://twitter.com/AC_assettocorsa or Assetto Corsa Google plus and prepare yourself for the most unexpected ending we are able to give you…

Exciting!!

I don't know if the Ferrari announcement would need to be this big of a deal honestly. Only since they've already done Ferrari Virtual Academy before, every one's kind of expecting Ferrari. I mean, yeah it could be revealed but I think the green background is really pointing toward Nordschleife, or a classic version of the Nurburgring aka "the green hell," since they've already got things like the Monza oval going and the '60s Lotus 49 car.

A lot of people are hyping up the idea of a laser scanned Nurburgring and while that would be absolutely monumental, I can't expect it to happen. We would've definitely known by now for sure, you can't hide activity at that track. If they were to release a LS Nurb' I'd be more shocked by the fact that they kept it secret for so long.

They could've gotten the Lidar scan data that's available...

Once they have rain in the game, then I'll sit up and take notice. I am really looking forward to AC though. A finished AC.

Kind of a lame reason. If that Fiat suspension video didn't make you sit up and take notice, then you're waiting for the wrong game.
