I am seriously considering buying this game since I don't plan on buying a PS4 anytime soon. So I have a few questions since the only racing game I have played since it was originally is Gran Turismo. So my questions are; 1, what are your driving options; meaning do you have a choice of views when driving. 2, Can I use my DFGT or a DS3 for driving? My PC is more than capable enough to run this game. So comparing AC to GT what can I expect? Thank you in advance for the answers.đź‘Ť

DFGT works just fine with AC on PC.
There are some nice cams when driving. You can see them all at the start of the races (in the videos below). I am a huge GT fan myself until i start playing RaceRoom racing experience and Assetto Corsa on PC... night and day compared to GT. Force feedback, sound, physics, etc...
Assetto Corsa is worth every penny you won't regret buying it plus you can download and add modded cars, skins, tracks from Race Department for example (Porsche 911 GT3 below). So grab AC from Steam when the summer sale is on.

I don't think that there's any list available as of this point. But judging from the Porsche video, we can expect a standard 911 (presumeably a Carrera S; probably with the 3L Turbo engine), GT3 RS, 918, 919 LMP1 and 936/81. There's also a great possibility that we're going to see the 962c in the game as Patrik Sander, who's also responseable for the absolutely outstanding Mazda 787B mod in AC, because Kunos has been known to license outstanding mods and implement them into the game (Corvette C7r, Audi Sport Quattro, etc.).
I took another look at the trailer and these are the cars that I gleaned from it:
In-game or CG:
2015 919 Hybrid
2016 911 Carrera or 911 Carrera S (991)

Stock footage/Racing footage:
911 GT3 RS (991)
718 Boxster S
Cayman GT4 (981)
918 Spyder
2014 919 Hybrid
935/78
935/76
911 (classic) of some kind, racing
911 GT3 Cup (991)
911 RSR (991)
1973 911 Carrera RSR (#59 Brumos and #63 Gelo)
917K (1970)
936/77
911 GT1-98
2015 919 Hybrid
911 GT3 R (991)

Then there's quick fire footage near the trailer climax that includes what I think is the P-wagen, the 718 RSK, 917/30, 1971 917K, 962C and 911 GT1-96, as well as several cars previously seen.

I think we can expect the 5 road cars that are featured in the trailer and the race cars that were most heavily featured I'd expect as well.

I really hope, that they will add 997 & 996 , those are the real diamonds !

The 919 Hybrid in the Assetto Corsa trailer is actually footage from the launch trailer for the original 919 Hybrid in 2014.

After what happened at Le Mans today, the first thing I am going to do is wrap the 919 Hybrid round the biggest immovable object I can find!!!
;)

That was the original GTR wasn't it? They had already gone to EA by the time GTR2 came out.
They were in GTR2 as well if you bought the game on disc. Digitally, they are gone now which neuters the game considering how much of the field consists of 911s.

Hence I have the 2014 919 Hybrid (footage from ) listed in the second column. The order of the list I collated is in order of appearance. The 2015 919 Hybrid I listed at the top is based on the short flickering shots of the black #19 919 (which is presumably CG) at the very beginning of the trailer, before the Kunos and 505 logo cards. There's also real racing footage of the 2015 919 at the end of the trailer.

My apologies. I had forgotten about the black car footage.

:embarrassed:

Dont worry. TS050 is going to be more remembered than the 919 (this year). Is one of that rare cases where the looser have more impact on the people than the winner. The proof is the huge ovation that the public gave to the Toyota team. Im a big fan of Porsche, and TS050 is already one of my favourite all time race cars.

Does anyone remember who finished second in 2010? Me either. Winners are remembered, losers forgotten.

I remembered TS020 was second in 1999, but I had to look up wikipedia to know who won (V12 LMR) :P

I think 2016 Le Mans will be remembered the same way as F1 Brazil 2008. It's just one of those stories where the winner and loser are forever entwined.

I suddenly remembered by the last race sequence of the Cars movie for some reason.

The biggest difference though was that Porsche didnt really cheat. Its just Toyota is just unlucky, very unlucky.

Cars ending was different though, the red car pushes the broken blue car to finish line, so it can at least finish the race, the red car didn't care about finishing 1st anymore at that point ( "he already won" )

I can imagine Audi suddenly do that to Toyota. But then they'll break another rule :D

Nah. Better luck next time Toyota. Next Japanese team that won Le Mans? Not now but next year will probably be.

Technically the Toyota wasn't even classified this year as it didn't complete the final lap in the allowed amount of time. So they won't show up as P2 in the record books, but I also think people will remember this race more for Toyota losing than Porsche winning. Just like Brazil 2008, the faces in the Toyota garage reminded me of Massa's father on that fateful day at Interlagos (which was the most memorable race I've ever watched). I'm sure a lot of people remember who finished second in the 2011 Indy 500. :sly: Normally people only remember the winner, but there are rare events where the loser is remembered as well.

If your PC can run the game just fine stop what you're doing, hop on Steam and get Assetto Corsa NOW!! No grinding for "cash" to buy cars. No silly upgrade parts to purchase, although sometimes a car might come with a Step 1 or Step 2 model which might be upgraded power or adjustable dampers - there is always a written description next to the car to tell you what's changed.

The adjustable drivers view is such an important feature. It sounds like nothing special, but there are so many cars where you'll probably think, "Gosh...if my driver's eye level was just 2 inches higher" or "I'd like my driver's eyes to be angled upward a little more so I'm not looking down at the tarmac quite as much". It's so simple to adjust. Heck, you could probably turn a Left-Hand Drive into a Right-Hand-Drive by just sliding the view all the way to the middle of the passenger seat. Of course, you'd have to turn off both "View Steering Wheel" and "View Driver's Arms" and you wouldn't see the dashboard gauges, but the point is that you can do it if you want it.

When I was playing GT6 I believed that it had a really good feel to driving. I still think GT6 does a pretty good job of immersing you into the cockpit of a car, but Assetto Corsa is really in a different league. The FFB is really, really good in my opinion and while they're always working on making things better, the driving physics and tire model is awesome. You won't be disappointed. No way...

The irony is that Assetto Corsa actually is what GT purports to be.... the real driving simulator. That is exactly what it excels at.
Yup. Assetto Corsa has many faults. It's missing a lot of things that people claim MUST be in a Racing Sim, but in my opinion, the most important things are in Assetto Corsa and they've done a better job than anyone at making you feel like you're controlling an actual car, whether it's a street car or a race car.

He's back at it again.

For Marcel...honourable mention for you @TheKitten :sly:

The physics chap Aris was seen inside the porsche 908, i think thats the short tail, might be the long i cant tell. Anyways its a rival for the GT40 finally. The interior looks very extensive.

Edit: Confirmed as the long tail, faster then the GT40 but unstable in the corners. Surprisingly this car started being successful when the 917 started winning le mans, due to the ability(which is now common) to basically the rip the whole body off and replace it with a new one which meant tweaking aero was quicker as you could fine tune before the car came in. While the 908 wasnt fastest on the circuit it beat absolutely everything in the pits, even the 917k. It was immortalised as Steve McQueen drove it in some film about cars going around some track in France.

Need the Ferrari 330P4 to go with that and the GT40. Need the 512S to go up against the 917. Need Le Mans to do it properly...

Most of all I'd like short tail versions to suit every other track bar the one we don't have.
I couldn't agree more. I think not featuring Circuit de la Sarthe is a big loss and hopefully Kunos are going to put it right.
