Audi A1 and S1 SuperRally Cross??? That would be so good!

Nah, unfortunately no. It's the S1 hot hatch road car. I didn't want to call it Audi S1 because could confuision with the Pikes Peak car

When is the Austrian track expected to arrive?

I'm guessing more towrads the end of the year. With some sort of bonus Pack or a already talked and rumured "Race Car Pack" Lots of goodies coming for these last 6 months of the year. Rip wallet

What is up with every DLC EXCEPT the most recent, Japanese Car Pack, being on sale on Steam? I mean it's only $5, but knowing it'd be nice to pay around $2, I am still waiting.

Picked up Project Cars in the mean time, hopefully it won't completely distract me from playing AC.

Dude, it's really worth the 5$.

Every single DLC is worth it.

And Project Cars doesn't distract me from AC at all, neither does DiRT, although DiRT is much more enjoyable than PCars. But that's just my opinion

i saw on their blog post before they were adding monza historic with the figure of 8 , that isn't in the pc game yet, is it?

I'm nit-picking here, but the historic 10km Monza circuit isn't actually a figure of 8. A figure of 8 circuit is one which part of the lap is clockwise and part is anti-clockwise (Suzuka for example), and the full Monza circuit is all clockwise.

With that said, SMS dropping the development of the historic versions of Spa and Monza from Pcars was my biggest problem with that game. Those are my all time favourite circuits. If Kunos do deliver the old 10km Monza circuit I'll cry tears of joy lol.

nitpicky, yes, but also right you are. you know, i heard someone call it a figure of 8 before, but never rally thought about the fact it is all clockwise! i always thought pcars was only doing the non-banked historic version of monza? that being said, was it dropped for good or pushed back to pcars 2 like al the oval/infield circuits?

Disgruntled about the extremely recent, extremely affordable dlc, from our extremely small and beloved team not being on sale, and even bothers to write up a post about it......

Where's my dislike button!!

You should dislike my terrible grammar in the post as well, I'm surprised nobody said anything!

But honestly I think I adopted the view since I've been spoiled by the amount of cars available as mods. Many of them are high quality (some not so much, with some even not having any sound in certain camera angles). The other thing is how much time can pass before justifying a 40-50% sale on a DLC? A month isn't a long time for sure, but would it still really be terrible for Steam to put it on sale?

AI in 1.7 looking promising.

Hmm, I'm not sure I can actually notice anything different about it. Just like we had to learn the 'quirks' of the AI in GT6 to have a good race, I did the same with the AI in AC. I've been able to have fun battles like this for quite a while/few versions ago, as long as I do couple of things:

- Give them a lap to warm up and sort themselves out, they are really clumsy on the opening lap of every race.
- Give them plenty of room if they're on the outside of a corner exit and you're on the inside. If you begin pinching them even slightly in this situation they will stamp on the brake pedal instead of fighting for the position, even if there's lots of room.

To be convinced of anything I needed to see the 1.7 AI on the first lap of a race, the above mentioned overtaking maneuver, and also see a faster car making an immediate pass on a slower car during the straights - at the moment they tap the brakes and swerve a few times before making the pass.

Yeah, the historic Monza in the early builds of Pcars was the road course only, because it was, like the other historic tracks (except Spa) ripped straight from Shift/Test Drive. The polls on the official forum showed the most requested version of Monza was the 10km combined circuit though, and it was up there with the most requested circuits (Historic Spa being by far the most requested).

Considering when the historic pack came out, the tracks had been re-done, and weren't the same Shift historic tracks in the pre-release game, particularly noticeable in Rouen, which looked very different, and Hockenheim, which was a different layout, many people were expecting the 10km Monza to come with Spa and Solitude.

As for whether they've dropped it for good, or pushed it back to Pcars 2, according to Ian, they didn't release them because of licencing issues. I'm guessing at least one of the circuit owners were wanting a separate licence fee for the historic version, and SMS wanted to include the track in the licence they'd already paid for.

With that in mind, I would expect the cancelled historic tracks and all the oval content included in Pcars 2 from day one. Those tracks would all be finished and ready, and all they need is to pay for the licences for the historic tracks, or negotiate a better deal for the licence for the modern track to include the historic version as well. Licences for all the oval content would be paid for, and I'm guessing those licences are good for Pcars 2, since the content wasn't used in Pcars 1.

I think it was Stefano, but it might have been Aris, I can't remember... Well, he said that to get the best out of the AI you should let them run practice or qualifying laps so they can sort out who is going to be the faster drivers of the upcoming race. Otherwise, you end up with some of the slower drivers starting in the front of the pack and the quicker AI drivers are "blocked" by them - especially on those first couple of laps.

I know that I didn't exactly quote what was mentioned regarding this topic, but I'm sure you can find it on the official forums if you look. I can't wait to try v1.7.. Personally, I have good races against the AI 95% of the time. I just hate when they freakin' pit maneuver me!!

Stefano. It's in the description on YouTube.

Will the PC version of AC continue to be updated as the console versions are released or will there be an Assetto Corsa 2?

They've said they intend for the PC and console versions to basically mirror each other (though the PC version will probably receive updates slightly quicker since Sony/Micro$oft don't have to approve anything).

Or, if you listen to some parts of the Interwebz, Kunos will abandon the PC crowd altogether and turn AC into a NFS-style arcade racer purely for the console crowd. Giant wings, vinyl wraps, and neon undercarriage lights FTW!!

Good to know. So long as the version of AC I have continues to receive support, I'll go ahead and get all the DLC I've fallen behind on since it is on sale.

If they planned on coming out with AC2 this Fall/Winter, I would just wait until then and not get the DLC.
