I still don't understand why Kunos doesn't a clean front windshield option:odd:
Agreed. Doesn't seem like too much work. I would also like to see it dynamic picking up dirt etc.

I asked Stefano last year a while back "when will we be able to use/map the D-pad with certain functions on my T500RS". Got a fairly cold response "No" and ended up using program for something that simple. And it's still hasn't been implemented. Hopefully when we get the major updates to UI, we'll get that all at once or at least after console version launched.

There was a hack you could do that put a clear windscreen on most of them, I tried it and liked it. But one of the big recent updates seemed to break it because now all my cars have dirty windscreens again.

Bikini carwash option would be great:

What's better? rF2? No. AMS? No. R3E? No. iRacing? No. PCars? Probably. So there's only one racing sim that (arguably) has better graphics than AC, I think that qualifies it as being one of the best around.
Graphic wise I may agree, AC is one of the best. But most AC tracks lack immersion in my opinion. Most don't have the activity of a race day. Just an observation, not a rant.
While the graphics aren't up to quality of AC or pCARS, I actually get the immersion factor from racing R3E (sights/sounds).

True that. AMS does a good job too (empty tracks during practice, full stands during the race and such). Doppler effect of the cars screaming past when you are sitting in the pits, and pit speakers in the actual language of the country you're in gives R3E the edge though.

AC's tracks look very sterile in comparison.

Fully agree.

I was going to ask about this after looking at those pictures, so are the stands always empty? This is surely something Kunos must work on. Dont want locations to feel dead.

The funny thing is that in most games with crowd and all the race feeling there are mods to remove those things...

For AC we need a mod that adds that... :P

Seriously... That would be a Amazing mod for AC...

I personally don't mind having empty stands. If you're just racing around in a M4 or something, like a track day, no one would be watching that. But if you're racing with GT3 cars or something then having people in the stands would be a nice touch but not a deal breaker.

Kunos has improved some of the tracks over time, not as barren as they used to be. Nordschleife is very good for one.
Much of the ambiance also comes from sound, again this is where R3E excels. I don't mean to make my comments a this sim vs that sim. Just mostly comments on AC graphically - very good in many areas, not as good in others (opinion). AC is getting better all the time, just not my only go-to sim.

I'm really looking forward to driving the 250F. Not many racing games have 50s era F1 cars, so I have no expectation whatsoever how it will drive :D Also, with the SF15T and F138 confirmed I believe we almost have the full lineup of F1 cars from every decade in AC:

1950: 250F
1960: Lotus 25, 49
1970: Lotus 72
1980: Lotus 98
1990 V12: not yet, anyone know any good mods?
1990-2000 V10: not yet, but the mod F2002 substitutes nicely
V8 era: F138
V6T era: SF15T

Love it! :D Between AC and Automobilista, I don't even care about the official F1 games anymore
