Darn...Sorry to hear that @Lewis_Hamilton_ -- Have u resolved the Windows problem yet, or did you just reformat/reinstall? I've dealt with a gazillion Windows issues. PM me if you're still looking for ideas.

Speaking of Porsche coming soon. Has anyone heard any whispers of a release date for the 1st pack of 3 Porsche DLC's? I'm guessing they'll mix up a few race cars with a few street legal cars, for each pack. Will all 3 Porsche DLC packs be released before January 1, 2017? Is that the current plan from Kunos?

*** WAY OFF TOPIC BELOW -- SKIP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ MY NONSENSE ***

Holy crap! I can't believe all the transplant recipients or friends of transplant recipients are on GTPlanet. I actually did have my transplant back in 2008, on Christmas Day no less! Talk about a great gift!! My current financial complaints are due to side effects from my meds and remedies/treatments I'm trying that aren't prescription meds & whatnot. :D And thankfully, the transplant didn't cost me a dime either. I had gotten sick, obviously, and had to quit my job 5 months earlier. Because I happened to live in Massachusetts, I qualified for MassHealth, which is a free comprehensive health insurance (Medicaid) paid for by the state (taxpayers). It's like better than most PAID insurance programs. Thank god, cuz my bills were over $1,000,000 when all was said and done. Health insurance sucks in the USA, but it's not as bad as a lot of people/media make it seem. I'm sure 100 people will disagree with me right now but it's true. Hear me out. The main problem is, if you don't work at all and collect welfare/living assistance, you have always qualified for Medicaid (in most states). It's the people who do actually work that get screwed, believe it or not. Honestly, if you ever get really sick - quit your friggin job..and if your state doesn't have a Medicaid plan, get your butt to Mass and quickly establish an address to qualify for MassHealth. I'm serious.

I hope it's not homeopathy! :odd: :sly:

Yeah, I have a job and my health insurance is basically useless. It doesn't cover much and has a $4,000 deductible so it's basically only good if I have some catastrophic issue (but even then I'll be $4,000 in the hole from the off). And it doesn't cover vision or dental at all, so that's all 100% out of pocket. :grumpy:

In the last streaming from Stefano Casillo with Marco Massarutto they said that the first Porsche DLC will come end September with the 1.9 Update and with the new Porsche Panamera free in the Update.
They are also looking to make a season pass for the Porsche DLC's.
If the three pack's will arrive before January 2017...well, i realy hope so..maybe the second and third DLC pack are scheduled for October and November

If they offer a season pass, you'd be crazy not to get it. So, they're giving the Panamera away for free? That's just cold...It couldn't have been a 911? Wait till the 'itching starts from people who don't wanna pay money for the DLC Packs, but want to drive a Porsche. Haha That's great...

Edit: Nethermind, already been posted in the other thread

From the latest official trailer.

That is the single pit garage at Fiorano, a track I don't think has been officially confirmed yet.
/Off Topic: Not cool to include content which doesn't come with the game as standard in the trailer in my opinion.

On the AC forums they're saying Kunos said the full track probably won't be included because it's not a racing track (but technically neither is Black Cat County or the drift track :odd: ).

Someone pissed off Marco so he posted a porsche picture and a novel

Some thoughs and answers to assumptions and theories I read on forums about the launch of Assetto Corsa on console, the future of AC, the neverending question "will Kunos turn it in an simcadish on PS4/X1 to sell more?", or -even better- "will Kunos turn the PC version in a simcadish to please a wider audience?"

Usually I don't get bored to read hundreds (thousands?) of times the same questions people ask me, since I understand that everyday lot of people hear about Assetto Corsa for the first time. But when the same people ask the same questions or they underline the same points, sometime can be boring. Even because, no one needs to believe us. Just see and evaluate by yourself what there is out there.

Assetto Corsa console -> will be a simplified/simcade version of AC?
Since last January, on the internet there are a lot of "hands on" and previews of the console version, always played using a steering wheel. We showed it during the European tour, during the Vallelunga event last May, and the conclusions of the players/journalists have been always "it feels like the pc version".

Another clue: what is the most known and appreciated characteristic of Assetto Corsa? Its car handling, and driving feeling. Which is the best reason why console gamers may decide to play Assetto Corsa, rather than Forza, or Gran Turismo? The number of cars? The graphics? I would say the fidelity of the simulation, the unique handling, the laserscanned tracks, the depth that a PC simulation can perform. If we subtract these factors, Assetto Corsa can't compete with these titles, because it couldn't offer nothing more these titles (created by talented people) feature at their best since years.

The most annoying question: now that AC console is ready for release, is going Kunos to make the PC version of AC more arcadish?
The console version of Assetto Corsa has been announced in mid 2015, the team started to work on it in late 2014. Since then, the PC version has been constantly improved, updated, expanded, with 7 major builds, several new tyre models (now we are at version 10 - TEN) adding features asked from SIMracers, and now we are going to release the 1.8 version on August 26th. The popularity of AC on PC is at the maximum level, it's often in the Top chartz on Steam, people love it and enjoy it everyday, and they support us each time we release new features and content. Please give me a logical reason why we should change this, after 18 months of HUGE development brought ahead on PC after the 1.0 release. Simply, there is no reason why we should do this.

We decided to bring AC on console to give ourselfes the answer to the question: "there is any potential on console market for a simulation like AC?". We'll know it soon. But the only way to answer this question is to bring on console the same experience people appreciate so much on PC. Period.

So, keep calm, don't worry. The only way we can change the soul of our most successful creation is to make it even stronger.

Ah. The picture? Just an excuse to capture your attention.. :P
And yes: it's a non-exclusive Porsche 911 RSR 3.0 1974...

And you know why Assetto Corsa will feature officially licensed Porsche cars before any other out there? Because Porsche has choosen Assetto Corsa for its applications, due to the quality of the overall package: graphics-physics-care of details-handling -track accuracy. So, there's no way for us to change our DNA.

Me too, I have to presume that successful console sales will benefit PC players in one way or another too, so we all win. :)

If console version meets Kunos' sales targets, i bet you they will announce AC2 in 2017. However, I would prefer them to use the new growth of customer base and new found wealth to invest in more DLC content especially laser-scanned tracks.

i highly doubt it. maybe in 2018 but 2017 is too early and they have too much content to get through. Simulators tend to stick around for a very long time due to the nature of how they are developed, constant stepping stones instead of a set list of things

Speaking of a potential successor to AC, I hope they would name it something like Assetto Corsa Evoluzione. I think it's more in line with how they approach their work. The numbering of video games and movies is like a 20th century relic that has survived decades. Unimaginative and boring norm within the industry.

Don't know if this has already been posted, but Marco confirmed there won't be any DLC at day one.
I'm pretty sure I saw him post somewhere that ďlc will be out a couple weeks later.

THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE TRYING TO ROB US OF SO MUCH MONEY!!! Clearly just another cash grab.

/s
Can't believe the price tbh, one dlc car on rocket league costs £1:69. How do kunos make money!

There is no way that Assetto Corsa 2 is announced in 2017. I'll put money on that. And I can't wait to get my hands on that Ferrari 488. If it drives as nicely as the 458 does in AC, we are going to be in for a treat. :D TURBO BABY!!! :D

That was an incredibly informative stream with Marco! I even had some direct answers. So much information was given but here are the decent pieces I remember:
Koenigsegg stopped replying to Kunos emails.
Suzuka licence cost unrealistically expensive.
No Aston Martin due to licence cost.

Not really happy with these news, despite being none of Kunos/Marco's fault. I thought after Porsche everything else should be easy peasy to get. Koenigsegg in particular shouldn't be as difficult, unless CvK didn't want to spill his car's secrets considering how detailed AC's simulation is. Suzuka I can live without. Aston Martin was also close to having a fall out with PD before GT6 release IIRC. When will these manufacturers learn the value of having your name represented in as many games as possible? It's not like AC is some bottom tier mobile game with no reputation.

@damadmoneyman Potrero de los Funes would be a beautiful addition, especially with the MC12 GT1 on the way, but I think the possibility of it appearing is extremely low. Marco was saying circuits which are not well known will sell less, which makes sense, and are therefore less likely to make the cut. Portimao is an option according to him.

I think Circuit of the Americas is a decent bet for the new deal they could announce soon as it is hugely well known and sought-after by players.

I can see the marketing point of view here, but this is what peeves me off about modern day simracing in general. Every game has the same tracks over and over again, while lesser known but equally great tracks never gets a second look. Then people complain the genre is getting stale...

Famous circuits are nice and all, but there's so much more interesting ribbons of tarmac that people don't know that deserves to be laser scanned before they are lost to history, like so many vintage/demolished/renovated tracks. I just wish the simracing community can be more open minded than requesting Nordschleife or the E30 M3 in 10 different games :irked:

Thank god the PC version has mods at least.

If they didn't laser scan everything those other tracks would be possible. But it doesn't make financial sense to go to cost of laser scanning if it's a track that the majority of people won't care about or want to buy. Some of the tracks aren't that common though, I'd never encountered Vallelunga, Magione, or Mugello in games before and I only know
Zandvoort from R3E, so it's not all the same old same old. I'd be totally fine with them introducing some non-scanned tracks (like Zandvoort) if it meant we could get some of the lesser-known circuits, but I don't see that happening since so many people got their panties twisted when they found out Zandy wasn't scanned (even though it's pretty much as excellent as any of the scanned circuits).

Well see that's the thing. The majority of people are too focused on a select few tracks that are already in so many games. I'm not blaming Kunos here, it's just common sense. I'm blaming the community for not being "open minded" enough. But that's why the normal distribution exists I guess.

Those tracks you mentioned are in the game because they are Italian and Kunos has easy access I presume. But for the worldwide tracks the list doesn't look that special - Nurburgring, Brands, Catalunya, Silverstone, Spa. All pretty common tracks. Again I know Kunos is a small company and they have limited budget. But it's hard to justify flying out to an unknown track if every most wanted track list features the same ol' circuits.

And yeah I'm also pretty open to non scanned circuits, as long as it's good. Evidently the community isn't though.
