Who races in 0º? :odd: I've never quite understood this fascination with super cold track temps that a lot of people use. Most racing takes part in the warm months of the year so it doesn't make sense to me to set the track for winter conditions.
Wanna do a track day in Massachusetts this time of the year? You'll see 0c (32F) approximately... Not every day, but several.

EDIT: I meant to also add...There is a track like 15-20 minutes from my house. Its been there 3 or 4 years now. I had no freakin' clue it existed until last year. Now I just need a car worthy to drive on it.

Who does track days in November? :odd:  Around here I believe all the SCCA/NASA, etc. events are done by the middle-to-end of October and don't come out of hibernation until around April. Even the local Cars & Coffee is done having events until next season. I'm sure cold track days happen in November somewhere, I'm guessing not common though (just a guess). For me sim racing is my fantasy land, and in my fantasy land it's always warm (except when I want to have snow fun in the Subaru). :D

Ugh...Anyone waiting on the Red Pack? You can have mine! I've had it with the G/D Maserati's. Trying to drive the 250F 12-cylinder and I wanted to setup a nice, cold, late fall session around Brands Hatch, so I set Temp to 0...Air: 0 degrees C Track: 0 degrees C. I am practically dripping in sweat trying to keep this thing on the track. Grip set to Fast, but I only got 96% :( Going down Hawthorne Hill, or whatever its called, if I put my foot to the floor in 4th gear at 95 mph the rear end gets squirrely! I know I set crazy cold conditions...but I've got my tires nice and warm. This thing just wants to kill me. :banghead: The first couple of laps...jesus...I can't believe how many times the rear wanted to come around on me. I probably pushed my luck a couple of times in such cold conditions, but still... This car car drives me nuts. I much prefer the 6 cylinder. Well, except for Monza. Then the 12 cylinder is alright.
Nailed it, except for the bit where you don't like it.

The ludicrousness of the car's behaviour combined with knowing that real life people pushed them to the limit in real life has me grinning with glee and shacking my head in disbelief at the same time when I drive those cars.
Who races in 0º? :odd:
It's England. Though they still don't race much at that temperature. Too excited to get down to the beach and soak up the glorious heat wave.

 I was half kidding about it, I know there's plenty of racing and track days that happen in cold temps. I just can't seem to bring myself to set the temp lower than 15°, don't want to race in my Snuggie. :P

Curious to learn if anyone else noticed that the refresh rate options disappeared with (I think) v1.9?

Would be interesting to know the "behind the scenes" of this. Since Assetto always had it's calculations running at multiples of fifty (physics, ffb, etc.), it was my understanding that better and more fluid sync was achieved with 50/100Hz settings rather than 60/120Hz. Can we assume that they've gone through and re-jigged everything to run at multiples of sixty? It would make sense since most people would probably be defaulting to that anyway.

Certainly for anyone that has a frame rate limit set to 50, adjust that or it will run terribly.

Assetto Corsa has a website, twitter profile and a facebook page. So why are all of the game updates posted first on the developers personal facebook page? Looks like he has a bit of an ego problem.

This is just off the top of my head and I may be a bit foggy on some of it. Some users (myself included) were having the refresh rate change to the lowest setting after an update which would cause the track to fail to load until the user changed it back. To prevent this they made it so the game automatically sets itself to the refresh rate of your monitors. But this led to some problems for some users so they added back in an option in a .ini to manually set a refresh rate (but I believe you have to copy/paste the code in yourself).

I think that's right, or at least close.

I'm failing to see how that is a problem.

He does it because he can and clearly he's proud of the team's work and achievements.

They're also usually more teasers and previews, preceding the official announcements.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of that change, as I could have sworn that my framerates were a little bit higher in v1.8.

But anyway, put this in the video.ini file...
[REFRESH]
VALUE=60 (or whatever Hz you prefer)

...and your monitor should lock to that refresh rate, giving you locked 60fps if you have vsync enabled.

When I tried to run without this, I got a locked 72fps, meaning the highest possible Hz (144) of my monitor was selected. But since the my comp couldn't keep the framerate that high it got cut in half.

I was running with a 50Hz setting and a frame rate cap of 50. When I fired up v1.9 it was choppy as hell. I noticed that my display was registering 60Hz and that the Hz options were not in the resolution options any more. I adjusted the cap to 60 and it runs fine, but it would be nice to know if they've changed to calculations at multiples of 60 or not.

I agree. Marco is Kunos Simulazioni (along with Stefano). I'm sure it is just a way to give people information that technically isn't "official" since it's not on the "official" Kunos or Assetto Corsa twitter or facebook pages. Keep in mind, 75% or more of the players probably don't even know who Marco Massarutto is.

Speaking of Marco. I googled his name yesterday for something...Probably to pull up his facebook account or something. I don't have one. Anyway, I spelled his name incorrectly. Instead of "Massarutto" I typed "Massarotto". Out of the corner of my eye I spotted the second Google search result. "Marco Massarotto Fatal Crash". My eyes almost popped out of their sockets. It only took 2 seconds to realize it was a mistake, but it was jarring.

Would you guys recommend that I inset that [REFRESH] value into my video.ini? Or is it really only necessary for people who are having problems?

Don't know, let me put my Hillary hat on. Okay, so you've got facebook/twitter in your phone and they log you in automatically. Do you A: load facebook, log out, input new username and password and post or do you B: just load the thing and post it.

I wouldn't bother unless you see or notice anything unusual with regards to framerate, stutter, tearing etc. If everything is working fine, don't change it. :)

For some reason after last patch i cant do races anymore, get 99% occupancy thing. Tried the launch options, tried the steering wheel refresh rate adjustment, turned off all apps, tried some other minor suggestions but so far no luck.
Reapplying thermal paste fixed the issue. Its weird how my thermal paste burning out coincided with the patch. And i blamed the poor defenseless patch :(

Ewwwwww that steering wheel :yuck: :D:
