So have you guys got custom championships yet? If so, where's the feedback? I mean, come on! Does it work? Reveal all please, it's Xmas! :P

I checked it out for about 30 seconds. It's nothing I was really anxious for.

If I do end up using the feature, it will only be after it gets incorporated into Content Manager for the PC.

I kinda blame the consoles on the missing unrealesed cars. I mean, everything they had planned was pretty much delayed 2-3 months because of the delayed launch for consoles. And from there it was a domino effect.

But then, I'm glad they have made the step to consoles because it'll mean more exposure and revenue so that they can keep getting important licenses and more content for us to enjoy.
How do explain delays all though PC development since early access? - before they ever took on new people to do the console port without compromising PC development then? People are confusing the Porsche licence taking priority over existing announced licences within the limited resources available.

I haven't done a race - my PC has a frame rate you can count manually if AI are on track - but you can choose the tracks for each round, Practice session up to 90 minutes - Green track by default, 90 minute maximum Qualifying session, races up to 100 laps and how many positions get points and how many points they get. Then you choose individual opponents.

Then you choose individual opponents.
This bit concerns me slightly as we can't currently choose which opponents to race against in the base game, where it sounds like PC players can. Hope they don't drop this part for consoles. Would allow us to make our own balanced classes instead of what we have now.

Assetto Corsa #11 in top gear top 50 off all times better driving games.

Here

Just a quick mention of
31: Real Racing 3 - iOS and Android (2013)
if you have not tried this on your tablet yet, I highly recommend it.

Probably not much, they have a separate team dedicated to working on the console version.
I know, but surely it had some influence, no?

I can imagine the console team needing to consult the main team a lot, etc. Also - and looking at all the interviews - the top guys definitely had their heads wrapped around the console version.

I'm sure all this took a considerable toll in the development of the main game. Especially with such a small team.

I don't think console players should really want to be exactly even to the PC build...ever.

Once again, we received a decent sized update (v1.11) and since that update 3 days ago we've already received 2 additional hotfixes. If consoles stay a couple of weeks behind PC that would be better for console users. Kunos can't just throw hotfixes at console players as fast as they can PC players.
Sure.

When I mean up to date, I mean with the same features and models.
A couple of weeks' difference, to reduce the amount of hotfixes needed to consoles, would be more than acceptable.

I think it might be a strategy of making sure bugs are ironed out on the PC before submitting the patch for consoles, as Sony and MS make you pay for submitting patches and it has to go through their process first and be approved.

When we receive a new patch like 1:11 now, people mentioned small bugs and inaccuracies and they were immediately patched again with a 1:11:1 and a 1:11:2.

So add the extra week you need to make sure your patch is ok, then start the whole submitting process which adds another two weeks. No wonder devs chose to combine several patches in one for consoles instead of freely patching like they can on steam, and that takes extra months.

Stefano said that they're pretty self-sufficient. But yes I'm sure it still does slow them down at least a little bit.

I'm not 100% positive, but I feel fairly confident in saying: The XBox 1 team consists of 1 programmer and the PS4 team consists of 1 programmer. Of course, they can be that small because they're just porting code from the main team which consists of 1 programmer.

I'm just being cheeky, but it's pretty close to the truth. I know Stefano alluded to "too many cooks in the kitchen" when the subject of hiring another 'developer' for the PC game...this was just casual forum conversation.

I have no idea how complex porting a PC game to a console is -- I hope it's VERY complex because things sure didn't go so smoothly... :banghead:

I don't know either, but to me I imagine that to be similar to trying to put a racing car engine in a family sedan, fitting the engine in the engine bay is the easy part, having a decent performance out of it is were the work is. Assetto was conceived and developed using a pc (race car) porting it to console (economic box) although it is the same engine proved to be challenging. Might not have been a good idea to start with, wondering if they would do it again knowing what they know.

The previous 991 911 launched underwhelmed me. The Turbo S and the R turned ir around. What wonderfully brilliant cars they are. I'm in love. The 919 Hybrid is wicked fast, agile and crazy machine, those well timed shifts to produce some gun shots, God so addictive

Has anyone tried the Rally content available for Mod? I've got the Fiesta WRC and some of the stages. But man, I must be doing something wrong because it literally feels like I'm driving in Ice

I picked up the season pass today and got quite a few cars in one go, not having any dlc yet. I will say the Porsche 935/78 'Moby Dick' 1978 is a right handful, I spent more time off the track than on with this car trying to tame it round the tracks, it must be the turbo that kicked in late but for some reason I didn't make a clean lap  on the other hand the FERRARI FXX K was a joy to take round with that engine noise :) I must try and find more time for AC as I enjoyed the racing on the T300 today.

Have a good Xmas all

Not sure if it's been mentioned or noticed, but we now have a 'delete' button in the setup menus. 👍

Meaning you now don't have to go and manually dig through game files just to delete old/invalid setups, super helpful when you're like me, and end up with multiple revisions/tweaks of baseline setups for all sorts of reasons. :boggled:

Happy Xmas ya filthy animals. May all your gifts be pink and deranged.

Merry Christmas my fellow AC addicts! :D

I'm turning 42 years old in two months. I certainly don't get excited about receiving Christmas presents anymore. In fact, I very much prefer to give gifts and I have preferred that for at least 10-15 years. This arrived last night and I have to say, I'm quite intrigued. Truly, I'm looking forward to opening this up.

Fragile... That's Italian, isn't it?

I tried them and I'm in the same boat as you. Can't feel anything about the car's weight transfer/grip and brakes lock up with the slightest whiff of brake pedal. I came to the conclusion that you can't half-ass loose surface physics and it's better to just wait until it's implemented properly in the physics engine. Unfortunately that probably means waiting for AC2 as Kunos said AC's engine doesn't support this natively (or wet weather for that matter).

Of course, in the meantime there's nothing stopping you from doing tarmac rallies. I recomment the Joux Plane mod from RBR 👍

Well, I see videos like the one below and the physics look to be very VERY similar to real life. So I'm wondering what this guy has done... Witchcraft
