In a way it's funny.. every sim there's going to be should be closing in to each other.. after all they're all after the same physics. When we have the calculating power, it's funny to think that every sim will be running on the same physics engine.

Dammit, I need a NetKarPro licence? :grumpy:

In all seriousness though, would a "stock" Samsung 300E laptop be able to run this game, even on low settings?

Laptops are not too good for gaming, but it doesn't mean they can't do it. Give us the specs and then we should be able to give you a good answer.

It won't. My laptop has integrated graphics like yours and its like a frying pan when running/stuttering with rFactor+ connected to TV.

Silly question, what is Netkar...?

http://www.netkar-pro.com/

Kunos's original game. It's getting pretty long in the tooth now, but for a long time it's been very highly considered as a sim. It only contains a few tracks and cars, it's very basic but very, very good to drive.

Note that Kunos also developed Ferrari Virtual Academy, which was likewise very well received.

I know you play iRacing, you'll enjoy this. It has a slightly different feel but you'll find it very familiar.

That's what the SC stands for in Lotus Elise SC if I'm not mistaken. It's a supercharged Camry engine or something like that isn't it?

Maybe this example can answer your question.

Last night, I tried the Tech Demo with a 8500GT graphics card. Everything set on low/OFF and on 800x600 gave me about 12fps.

Older AMD CPU and 4 gigs of RAM.

If you have a friend with a NetKar Pro key he can give it to you. The key can activate multiple tech previews of AC. This way I got my friend in it who doesnt own a licence.

I dont see any problem of pirating with it, because it is just a preview. Nobody gets hurt by it.

Or you could just shell out the 4,99€ for netkar pro and support the dev team whose game you want to play... Yeah crazy thought, I know.

I bought the licence for the original price. NetKar Pro is still an amazing sim.

Really? I thought that they want you to play their game, they don't achieve that with paid demo.

Yes, it is crazy for a developer to tell people that if they want to play a demo with a wheel they have to buy one of their other games even if they aren't interested in it.

Can you imagine the backlash if is was a large company doing this? It would be insane so I don't see how them being a small developer makes it any better.

You guys are spoiled.

This tech preview is supposed to be strictly for benchmarking and testing across a large pool of machines. Battlefield 3 required you to have either gotten an invite or have bought Medal Of Honor in order to get to play the Alpha test.

They wanted to target only people that were somewhat loyal to their cause. So long-time netKar owners or those passionate enough to buy it would supply much more concentrated feedback rather than an overwhelming amount of noise with people that didn't know what they were doing.

This isn't a demo, they don't just want anyone to run their sim yet, that's for the freely released demo that comes later.

Just read into it and you'll have your answers, no need to jump to conclusions.

DO NOT BUY IT THEN. You can still play Burnout or Need for Speed. 👍

It's 4,99 euro you got NETKAR PRO for 5 bloody euro. Seriosuly there is no way you can buy that quality for the same price somewhere else.

Thanks for an actual response. I'll admit my ignorance on exactly who was the target of the demo as well as the purpose.👍

Love the contrast between yours and Wardez' response, really shows both sides of gamers.

This is not the demo. It's a technology preview, technology demo.

There will be a demo, for everybody to play for free.

I don't give a damn dude. I'm not Mr.Nice. If you come here and complain about 5 euro for Netkar Pro this is what I'm telling you. And you were lucky I wasn't in the mood for a sarcastic response.

I admitted my idiocy in the post above yours.👍

I posted before reading the post above mine. :P

You're not an idiot! :)

You probably just didn't know the difference between the tech demo and the real demo to be released later on.
