Woooosh

haha, looking at the wrong one sir, look at the highlighted file.

btw, here's one of the funniest and most entertaining sim racing videos I've ever seen:

I thought it was an obvious joke question, but I guess not. It's the Nordschleife!

Not just Nordschleife either, but the full 24 hour layout!

Ferrari Virtual Academy I struggled to feel the limit and this game for me is more the same. Other games I struggle to feel the limit with no aids are the Codemaster F1 games. Hopefully one day I get to the the bottom of it. I think for me GT5 gives best feeling of driving on the limit but I know others can get that feeling from the games like FVA and now this Assetto Corsa. pCars and RaceRoom Racing Experience I find I am more on the pace and can find limit better. I haven't experimented yet on FVA or this technology preview with steering setup much so maybe that can unlock some feeling of limit for me.

Damn!! That Supercharger whine is what was missing!! DAMN!!!

And how tha hell did he changed the car's color???

All you need is the DDS plugin for Photoshop or Gimp. I've got mine colored Saffron Yellow. Color file's in content\cars\lotus_elise_sc\skins

Copy the folder, rename it your color, open up the metal_detail.dds file. Cut out the old color and add in your own. You can also do any pattern you want. There's no skin template yet though.

How do you bring that triple screen adjustment screen up ?
And how do you get lap time/splits to display while driving ?
Cheers

Move your mouse to the right end of the screen and the app list shows up. :)

The app system and how you can move them around is just brilliant.
Already got a realtime tyre pressure/temp app dl'ed that someone made. :D

Haha!! That's awesome!!
Gotta work a bit on the metallic layer...

I don't give a damn dude. I'm not Mr.Nice. If you come here and complain about 5 euro for Netkar Pro this is what I'm telling you. And you were lucky I wasn't in the mood for a sarcastic response.

Don't respond like this to anyone again. I don't care what the subject or the matter.

Hmmm... The Backfiring is nice, but it's too loud, to the point where it get's anoying and distracting. Any ideas on how to turn it doun on the .ini??

Deleted all the backfire lines on the .ini and it works very well now!

Started it up a little while ago. Still trying to get the settings right for a playable framerate.

FIXED: Has anyone else had a problem with resolutions other than native like 1280x720 or 1920x1080 not filling the screen? Anyone know of a fix? I want to use 1600x900 but it won't fill the screen and gives me a large black border.
EDIT: Worked out a fix for this. Inside the Nvidia control panel under Display > Adjust desktop size and position . Tick the box for "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" and make sure scaling is performed on Display.

Also having issues with very little steering angle using my DFGT. If I make a mistake or anything it will take me a 10 point turn to get back on the track. Turning circle would be about 100 metres.

Netkar was definitely worth the $6 ran great straight away without any messing with settings. Pity there's noone online...

Check your Logitech profiler. When I started AC for the first time, for some reason the steering angle on my G27 was reduced to 200° in the profiler. You need to check "let games override settings" and then choose 900° in the game. Then it should work fine.

Well I tried these settings for G27 from here (Link) and it makes a massive difference for me. Now I can feel the limit better and much more on the pace and know exactly where I am losing time. I think with enough laps I could do times around mid 1:22's.

Ok even if my laptop is clearly a joke for this (25fps in 640x480 res LOL LOL) I couldn't resist, I give it a go because I wanted to try the FFB and holy ... even with my laptop it feels like the best racing sim ever made. Seriosly, this is IT.

Honestly I was expecting something slightly better than NetKar Pro but no... this MILES AHEAD anything else I've tried in my sim racing life. Oh My oh my.

Time to build a proper PC for this.
What, did I say PC?
I want a NUCLEAR PLANT for this! My terget is AT LEAST 100fps in a 50 cars endurance race with max detail!!!

AC definitely feels very good and realistic. I guess that the final release (full game) is going to be even better. If all the netkar pro bug testers find all the bugs and Kunos can get these bugs fixed, this could well be the best sim at the moment.

Three things that fail to impress me;

1. On my system the image is too dark/muted. I saw no way of adjusting this within the sim.

2. The "Force" part of the FFB is great, however I get no vibration from the road or curbs, or anything else for that matter. Again, I found no way to adjust this.

3. The Dx11 graphics don't impress me, they look no better than rF2 with its Dx9 engine, just different. Fine by me, I'm more interested in immersion than eye candy, Dx9 is good enough.

At least for now, I much prefer rF2. They are both unfinished, rF2 feels Beta, AC feels Alpha to me. It's all good though.

rFactor 2 is obviously number 1 competitor in terms of physics but AC for me = instant love. It feel just right, I've never experienced that feeling before. It's a good time to be a sim racer everyone can choose his favourite sim, and eventually buy more than one.

Now I need to understand what kind of beast is required for max detail and max fps in every situation. Any tech expert out there?

I think you can adjust the camera exposure in cockpit view using the page up/page down buttons. Not sure what wheel you have but I feel all the vibrations, even the tyre shuddering under heavy load.

I think the graphics are pretty good, they could be a bit sharper though, they have a smooth like butter soft look to them, when I switched over to SimRaceway the cockpit of the car was so much more in focus and sharp, could see the details better. SimRaceway is a worse looking game in pretty much every way, but being able to see the cockpit in such sharp focus was preferable to me.

Speaking about laptimes, I think I could probably stretch to a 1:22 with a bit of practice, but those guys doing 1:21 look fishy to me, I saw a replay and the cornering speeds were a bit suspect. Given how easy it is to adjust the friction levels and how open everything is to modding, it wouldn't surprise me if some of those laps are the result of some clever tweaking of the game files.

I can explain 2.
Hi there,

if i drive very slowly round the track, FFB on curbs is perfect. If i drive fast, FFB on Curbs (in turns!!) nearly zero.

In german " es überlagern sich hier FFB Effekte und ein Teil (hier Curbs) wird ausgeschaltet/geschluckt"

Sorry, i don`t find words for this in english
Answer from AC developers
As designed. Force feedback provided in Tech Preview is "pure", no "fake" or amplified effects on curbs. In the final version there will be an option to have stronger jolts on curbs.

There is two corners that is hard to get the car turning and looking at one time in 1:21's I wonder if tyre pressure changes could help the car be able to rotate more easily on corner entry. I think time is on braking technique too. Looking at most of the fastest laps, I seem to have same racing line and braking points. The slight tyre wear doesn't help do back to backs as easily as you have to constantly reset and need to do a fresh fast lap to get split times again.

Do you have FXAA on? By most accounts I've read, it's just digital vaseline. It's Fast approXimate AA because it's just a blur post process filter, making everything soft. The advantage being that it can be applied to alpha textures where I'm pretty sure other pre-processed AA methods can't, though.

I do like AC and, but don't forget that rF2 has the real road, piststop, dinamic, weather, day/night cycle, dinamic road and track.....al this featuers that AC wont have in V1!
