4.99 for a game every pc simmer should have already isn't bad. I bought it many moons ago at full whack. Still get as much enjoyment now as I ever did and haven't even used any mod content. FVA is also awesome and cheaper now if any of you haven't played it.

It's nice though for a sim to come out and genuinely blow people away. Must feel good for kunos to get that kind of kudos.
 
By far the best F1 sim, they have the F10 and the F150 Italia. So you get DRS and KERS .

Laser scanned Nurburgring GP track, Mugello, and Fiorano. Then there's the 438 Challenge car which happens to be my favorite GT car in any sim. Just--ahh, so much win. You can see why I'm so hyped on AC.
 
Seems to be a lot of bugs and problems with AC. Good thing they released the Tech Demo to the (netkar Pro) public.

My very first impression was very good. Even using a joystick this game is much better than e.g. shift.

You can change the FOV by going into My Documents > AssettoCorsa > cfg > camera_onboard.ini

Open that and change the setting for "FOV" under "[MODE]" to your liking. Default value is 60. Punch in your number, save, and you're good. Setting it to a lower value brings you closer up in the car toward the windshield.

do you know of a way to make the sim fill the screen? I have it on full screen but it won't fill the screen. There's a big gray frame around it
 
The application of the triple screen is perfect! now I can chose my preferite FOV, can chose the angle between the central monitor and the laterals monitor, I can also adapt the orizontal angle of the side mirrors!
I did some laps and I did 1'25.2! can do 1'23, but today I have an endurance race with rF2, so I will try tomorrow to do better!

Hmm, I thought the original was ok, especially with the supercharger sound and the "lag" between shifts to simulate the clutch pressing. That's one of the things I don't like about GT is the shifts are too "automatic like". I think I prefer the original sound over that one.

Btw, the sounds are incomplete. Luca (sound designer) said that they're currently putting the completion of sounds on the backburner for now while they attend to more important things like netcode, ai, bugs, etc.

This is a short list of what's missing:

- missing exterior backfire
- missing exterior shift sound
- missing transmission sound
- doppler effect
- material reverb effect
- reflection
- missing the ability to change effects in the .ini file: bodywork, shift up/down (mod toolkit should solve this).
- a sample specific volume value would be preferable
 
Got it! It would be pretty sweet if they'd look into drivetrain flex. One other thing I hope they pay attention to is induction sound, specially for the BMW GT3!
 
haha, I don't think drivetrain flex's necessary to be honest. I don't know why iRacing made such a big deal about that.

I can't imagine how you'd hear things like that while driving.

But yeah, a nice throaty induction effect would be sick.

Laptops are not too good for gaming, but it doesn't mean they can't do it. Give us the specs and then we should be able to give you a good answer.

Last night, I tried the Tech Demo with a 8500GT graphics card. Everything set on low/OFF and on 800x600 gave me about 12fps.

Older AMD CPU and 4 gigs of RAM.

I have 6GB of RAM with an Intel i3 Core processor, which probably runs at c.2.5GHz. I'm guessing AC is outside of my reach.
 
I think I'm using integrated graphics. Forgive me for sounding n00bish, but is an Intel HD Graphics 3000 a graphics card?

Yes it is, and not a very good one. I have Intel HD 4000 Graphics in my laptop, and it's pretty rubbish at most games, so the 3000 probably won't fare too well either.

This game really makes me want to ditch consoles, and get a PC. Looking forward too seeing what mods come out for it, and hopefully using them later this year... :lol:
 
I thought it was an obvious joke question, but I guess not. It's the Nordschleife!




Otherwise here is a video of me driving a lap of the tech demo. Pro settings with H-Shifter + Clutch. It's not the best lap to be honest and I'm having a hard time understanding why I'm so slow, and why this messy lap ended up as one of my fastest.

Genuinely confused, need telemetry or something to unravel this mystery. Oh, and I love it!
