Sure of course.
I'll provide an example, not to pick on any particular creator, merely because it is the one that drove me to have a dig around in the files for a fix and subsequently, doing the mass cleanup which fixed other conflicts I had noticed over time. Funny enough I was on a GT3 race on the now deprecated Daytona and the Huracan was making no noise. I was in the Audi R8 with modded sound.
Just to note that I have never done any sound modding / fmod stuff and so maybe I should provide some terms and conditions; I take no liability for any broken things and stuff... blah blah, you know the deal
)
Make a backup of any file you edit just in case. This is just what I read to be the correct format after looking at some of the documentation, as well comparing the format of some well regarded mods for reference and just doing some testing.
Attatched first is the GUIDs from ACFAN's Audi R8 LMS 2016 sound mod. The edited version follows. Simply removing the huracan entries made the Huracan sound return.
As you can see all event:/cars/ entries that are for other cars can be removed.
Same goes for "bank:/" entries for other cars like "bank:/tatuusfa1" can be removed.
All the "bus:/" "vca:" "bank:/common" "event:/common/" "event:/surfaces/" "event:/collisions/" etc are to be left as is.
Also attached is one of many examples you can find that are a pain to clean up if you do what I did. The GPL Mclaren has a big mess listing a thousand other cars.
You will notice that the tatuusfa1 pops up in maybe 80% of smaller mods. I think because from memory, the documentation within assettocorsa\sdk mentions starting with a KS car for a starting reference and people seem to think you
must start with the Tatuus because this is the one mentioned as a base example in the guide.
Anyway as I said I may be off base and maybe completely wasted some of my time, audio is not my area at all and maybe just removing a single line could stop the conflict but I slimmed all my files right down as it fixed all existing problems with silent cars, caused no errors and I hate a mess when there doesn't appear to be any need for one.
Someone who knows better could maybe give some actual experience and skill based knowledge.
Sorry for the essay, hope it was at least moderately understandable!
Take care )
