Can someone help me with this? I've seen it in a vid - this is not for VR. When turning left and right, in the cockpit the view looks or glances L/R when entering a corner, rather then a static straight ahead view when entering a corner. How can that be enabled? I've dug endlessly in AC with no luck.

It might be the neck extension in CM. Open Content Manager, go to Settings then Custom Shaders Patch and then activate Neck (alternative head motion).

Just wanted to chime in and also say that gamepad users can easily enable TC, ABS and Stability control already. There really is no need to include these fantasy electronics into the car itself.

These options, unless actually present on the car in real life, really detract from the simulation aspect
.

Why? Because if you want realism, you then have to go and start Googling if this car really had ABS or TC (or maybe one and not the other). Normally, the minute I see something like ABS on a Group C car, I delete the mod immediately (because, in general, this indicates the modder isn't really concerned with realism). That certainly doesn't apply to your mods, but I've seen a lot of really bad mods that do this (including one that had a 1967 F1 car with TC!).

So, they're your mods and it's totally your call, but my advice would be: Make the car as it was. And Thanks for sharing all your hard work!

That's why I ended downloading only mods from sources I know they are fully concerned about realism and true simulation. Racedepartment, beto, some paid mods, etc are your best beat.

My last attempt was the BMW M3 E46 GTR GT2 posted in this forum wich I found arcade, nothing to do with realism. It got some praise here and I respect that because it can be fun for someone.
I don't despise other aproachs, simply they are not for me.

Ilja has sent private test builds to me in the past when we were trying to figure something out (eg window resizing and resolution swaps) but the preview 40 hot fix was posted on the discord for people to test. It's now up as an official download:

Just a quick question, if I unpack a KN5 file using kn5conv, how to do i repack the files as a KN5? Obviously I'm not a modder but I would like to try and remove all of the extra junk in the rtm garage showroom, god rays, tires, etc.

Dev mode in CM lets you pack/repack data files in the car analyse tab.
Spam-click the CM version number in the 'about' tab, then activate dev mode in CM settings.
Remember to delete the created data folder after repacking.

Edit: ignore, thought you were talking about cars. It's early!

Right, but as a nationally convicted hacker (one of the first) in the 80's, I don't tie a bank account or anything that can be reached by getting a paypal account :lol:

The app you are looking for is "Real Head Motion".
 
@Apexxer, could you please fix the left side glass in your TS020 GT - it looks like it's missing a transparency flag. It's one of the things that the CPU/GPU optimisations in the shader patch highlights. Surprised nobody has mentioned this before?

The McLaren MP4/4 from VRC, which is available for download at RD, crashes during loading of AC. CM notes a syntax failure in different .lut files. I already extracted the files and looked into the ones CM is addressing but I only see in the corresponding line 108 an "Erreur 2015" which I deleted. After re-packing the car still does not load. Can anyone advise how to fix it?

Out of your sad situation, this cars deserves by his sound at high revs, a vacuum cleaner sound and I never suggested a modification to the VRC Team... I will try it ! ;-)
Unfortunately, none guy tried to do an alternative sound for this legendary car.

I hope you will get some better help here, bye ! ;-)

Ha, thanks for your hint...I figured out, the car is driveable on Kunos tracks; when I try to load a 3rd party track, it crashes. What the hell?!

Is it a particular track or all the 3rd tracks !?
I will try with a 3rd track which I’m sure there is no sort of troubles... by the way all my 3rd tracks work fine.

A tip... very simple !
When you will try a new car, try it on a Kunos track first for eliminate or confirm something’s wrong. ;-)
 
Aside from the glass, I'm wondering why the body is all white...? With the glass, nothing has been touched with it, this is happening on the side glass only? Perhaps replicating shader settings on the side glass with the window will fix it... Not sure. I know the original mod has a custom made front glass texture that reflects the dash from the interior glass, but the interior and exterior glass are using the same texture. I can check into changing the glass all together but if I'm not mistaken the bonnet is a part of this texture, so it's possible we may lose the bonnet too. I'll look into it and see what I can do.
So when you turn off CPU/GPU optimizations the problem goes away? I remember a while back someone was having the same issue with one of URD's cars. I'll look back at it.

Meanwhile for those that may desire skins in smaller size, here are all the skins in the current mod in higher compression format: TS020 Skins
I think it's the draw call optimisation that highlights errors like this.

I'm curious what you didn't like about the E46 GT2?

Does that mean you don't like the URD GTE's as well?
Because they drive very similarly (which makes sense, given that the modern GTLM's are what we used to call GT2 cars and the regs haven't changed a lot (except to ban ABS).

I could not drive with this combination on Okayama; Zolder and Varano are ok!

TRACK FEATURES:

DESCRIPTION:
Started in december 2016, this is a complete scratch built track specially designed for Assetto Corsa.
I spent countless hours on it in the 9 months of creation. The track is the accurate as possible representation
of the real track, with using every available data from the web (laser scanning excluded).
There are 3 layouts available, GP 3,7km , Piper 2km and Formula Drift Japan (800m).

The track and the environment replicates the 2017 season with all the modifications and changes done to the track.

It´s only a guesswork, but "D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\extension\textures\extension\backgrounds\shelby_cobra_427sc_0.png" seems wrong.
Try to move the second extension folder up. "D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\extension\backgrounds\shelby_cobra_427sc_0.png".
Or backup your extension folder and redownload it from github. Perhaps you have an folder mismatch. :)
