Somebody knows about Dakar tracks?? The closest thing i found is the cubilete stage from simtrax. I want something more open with dunes etc...
Anyway im making something like that but is very poor and shabby

Worked for me

For me continue without work :(

Just a simple reminder: don't forget to clean your content/cars folder every once in a while.
I just deleted 15 GB of residual content!

Simple files you can search & erase:
• *.psd
• Files with the word "backup" on them
• "_details" folders (Not files! "_detail" files may be in use!)

You can do a deeper cleaning (cleaning helmet, suit and kits from car folders), but that requires you to have them previously organized in the texture folder. For instance, all cars can load a single 10 mb suit from "texture\driver_suit". Imagine if every single skin variation for, say, 100 cars, had that file copied to them. That's just 1 GB, not to mention the gloves and helmets.

Cheers!

is there a way to change helmets for cars? cause i checked all the files and i dont see an option.

cause on RD they are uploading helmets but how do i assign them to cars?

Put the helmet in the specific skin you want. If you dont see a helmet its likely just a black base helmet. Then after putting the helmet in, delete the skin .ini. If theres a helmet already in there with a date of the car, your new helmet should be "(date of car)_Helmet" and same thing with helmet glass.

ah ok, if they dont have that ini file, i can just copy one from another car and change the details in there?

No, the skin .ini (if its in the skin, some do some don't) needs to be deleted in order to get the helmet installed. If your scared of deleting ( :D ) just change the skin .ini name to skinOLD.ini - you'll see, you dont need it.

And its sorta easier to practice on an open cockpit car - you'll see the helmet quicker.

ah, ok, the mod has assigned 1985 helmet while suits are 2016. but the helmets are 2012. well, that sucks but thanks for your help

Your almost there. Take your helmet you d/l'd (2012) and just rename it to "1985_helmet". It will overright the old helmet, viola, your helmet will show. I know it sounds like a mess, but once ya get it it takes seconds to do.

For example, I just opened a random skin. Theres NO helmet just the skin files and a skin.ini file. Take your d/l'd helmet, drop it it in the skin folder and delete the .ini - helmet year makes no difference. If there IS a helmet in a skin just rename your dl'd helmet the same year (dont forget the (_) in between the year and helmet. done. IF it also has a skin.ini - delete the .ini and your done.

this worked, thanks. now i just need to figure out which ones actually work properly, cause F1 helmets are too detailed too not be messed up.

Send me a private message @P1ButtPlug you get something for your help ;)

Yup, if ya want, just rename the original helmet you dont want messed with "xxxx_helmetOLD" that way you can always go back.

Do you mean the URD Ford GT GTE? I just instaled again the Bmw and is like an UFO. No loss of traction, huge grip no matter how you stomp on your throtle... I drove afterwards the URD Ford GT GTE and is another world, the real world.
No idea WTF you're talking about, but let me guess. You're probably running with max traction control and default suspension settings, right? Well, that's a very safe setup designed to keep rookies out of the grass. Turn off the TC, increase your rear roll stiffness and up the rebound on your rear dampers. Now run about 2 clicks on the front aero and 5 on the rear.

Now. Try that and tell me the car has "huge grip". These cars *did* have a fair amount of (mainly mechanical) grip, and were fairly benign (easy) to drive. What's not easy is getting those last few .01s's. To do that, you have to tune the setup and make the car much more unstable. It sounds like you just went with the stock setup (including TC) and decided it was "too easy".
