Yeah, the one beautiful thing about this Is the fact that a lot of the DRM cars raced in the states under various IMSA classes. So if sticking to the period (years) as best as possible you can put some close to historic races.

i.e. I am gathering the livery’s and cars for the 1985 Riverside 600.

I know very little about BOP so I am learning.

I plan on trying to put together a few of these races from a few different times where we have the track and cars that are pretty close.

1970 12hr Sebring is a good one that I have a period correct, though roughly done track. Notably Steve McQueen was in this race.

Just my personal project to relive a few races that I remember from way back.

That will be interesting to do. Again most of them (the free ones) can be found on legions' website and assettoland (legion made the GTXs BoP to the Group 5s). I'd advise going to velo's website for the cobra II but it's the 1978 version (I think) and that's the only GTP class that I know from the era

AMS2 is awful. The physics and general driving experience is horrible. Cars slide and snap constantly as well as judder/bounce all over the place, its horrible. AC is objectively a far better sim and so is the original AMS.
This is all a matter of taste though. You say cars 'slide and snap constantly', but I would say that cars feel alive and react both to driver input and the terrain. Certain cars are definitely better than others, but go drive the Porsche's or the AMG GT3 for a few laps and you'll see how incredible the game feels. AMS1 being better than AMS2 is a very popular opinion, but AMS1 is widely regarded as better than AC (without SOL and CSP at least), and AMS2 is getting better with every update. Racing against the AI in AMS2 is hands down better than AC though, and it would be very hard to argue otherwise. It's great playing a game where the AI actively tries to avoid crashing.

Pukekohe rf2 conversion . 28 grid slots . 2 layouts , with and without chicane
had a go at sum night lighting but its a bit ... yeh...
and sum reason the digital flags stayed on during the race.
other than that its a box of birds. :)
checked around at other versions and named it appropriately , hopefully no conflicts .

Tried this, fantastic version of the circuit, but I'm afraid there's some sticky walls around, which makes it pretty unsuitable for league racing. Could this be fixed in the next update?

Let me know what you think of the small additions of wings - I had to add wings to add setup for downforce as it pushed too hard into the corners with the weight at the back and no downforce in the front. The Auto Union C had a top speed of over 210MPH and could wheelspin at 100mph still. This add updated wings, wheels, suspension, tyres and brakes - and of course sound!!

Love it! And as for adding wings... why not? It's very obviously a 'reboot', so go the whole hog I say - as long as the handling and speed are sensible and not like some dumb fantasy hypercar.

(EDIT: I should add, as long as it's tasteful, too. )

While I’m not new to any of this, my focus for the best part of 30 years has been on Rally. So now that I am diving back into the circuit racing, I am understanding now how much simpler and relatively less expensive it was to race, much like parts of American Rally is today. There were always the factory teams and with the R&D budgets, but there where a great deal of privateers that were able win a fair amount of races as well. Point being if the era of races that I am putting together, the cars do not have to be strictly from that or the previous year, I am reading where several 5year+ old cars where still competing. I’m trying to remain true to history, but if there are a couple older cars that fit, to fill the grid, because others a just not available in AC, that’s ok.

@Rodger Davies I saw you mention on FB that there was a Nissan 280zx gt car out there for AC? Or did I miss understand your comment?

I have also seen legions todo list is the Porsche (908 spyder) from PCars... hopefully that gets done sooner or later as that is the type that McQueen drove in 1970 Sebring.

Appreciate the feedback. Thank you. I think you are going to love the handling... Here is a more accurate front wing paint job. As a result of the feedback I will send you the first beta test and you let me know what you think. I still have a few small surprises to add in store.

What version of CSP are you on?

Thanks browser. I'm on CSP 0.1.17_preview1 and SOL 2.1 alpha 3.

Look forward to giving it a blast!

That's why I said, FOR ME!! So an opinion, which by definition is not nonsense. I bought it so I am playing, but I also have RF2, PC2/3, ACC, R3E and iRacing. They all have pro's and cons. Just an opinion from someone who compared 1 class. I think the RSS 90 is good quality compared to AM2. Anyways, I like AM2 for the quality of FFB, tracks etc.

Nevermind lol.

Hi folks,

I've been making my own (and first) fictional track in Assetto Corsa and it is a work in progress at the moment. I temporary name my track South West Raceway.
Here's a clip of me driving my track and you'll see that all objects including the road and grass are just solid colors for now. Will work on textures eventually!

The only 70s - 80s car i know we currently got are the Group 5s by DRM, the 512 BBLM, 320 GTX, March M1 + V8, Green Wood vette, Dekon monza (2 variants), the mustang Cobra II (that's getting overhauled but there is a couple of them) and that's all I know so far

I have a few more!

Hello Rally Friend, fancy seeing you here!

Sorry, I was mistaken about the Nissan, I completely misidentified a car. There's no 280ZX yet.

Technically the car McQueen drove at Sebring was a 908/2, not the /3 from Project CARS (more unfortunately, I don't believe the model has been extracted from PC yet) but the only version of that for AC is very low quality.

I'll drop you a DM on Discord rather than wax lyrical about Sebring on here.

They have been working on it for some time it was meant to come out before ACC but was push back I suspect they had some licencing issues. I hope it is of decent quality compare to some of more modern race sim and has modding capabilities in it similar to the original two games.

But what are they gonna do if ACC has the gt world challenge license? Make a GT Open videogame? Will they do a WEC videogame??

Has anyone made the liveries of the street and NASCAR Mustangs in this video for the Kunos mustang and RSS Hyperion respectively? I know someone's already done the V8 Supercar skin for the V8SCorsa Mustang, or at least one similar to this.

A PC2-like game ? Plenty of GT3s but not affiliated to any real racing series ? Idk. Don't hold my hopes up for GTR3 - don't think we'll even be able to mod it. I just feel it.

Hi friends. I am a bit confused. I have found this VW Golf Mk 4 TDi on Facebook today (by Lucas Macedo):

For some reason, the AI is not able to start this car. Of course I have checked the limiter vs. upshift settings, but they seem to be OK. Does anybody have an idea, what is wrong here?

Disable "use extended physics".

Hey. Which option in settings or sol config is used to increase strenght of headlights ? When Im driving at night I can't see enough

In "LightingFX" in CM --> brightness (should be set to 100% for SOL though). So better keep it as it is and use a better mod.

you should probably link to the mod, shouldn't you?

Besides of that this just looks awful in any way.
