While I’m not new to any of this, my focus for the best part of 30 years has been on Rally. So now that I am diving back into the circuit racing, I am understanding now how much simpler and relatively less expensive it was to race, much like parts of American Rally is today. There were always the factory teams and with the R&D budgets, but there where a great deal of privateers that were able win a fair amount of races as well. Point being if the era of races that I am putting together, the cars do not have to be strictly from that or the previous year, I am reading where several 5year+ old cars where still competing. I’m trying to remain true to history, but if there are a couple older cars that fit, to fill the grid, because others a just not available in AC, that’s ok.

@Rodger Davies I saw you mention on FB that there was a Nissan 280zx gt car out there for AC? Or did I miss understand your comment?

I have also seen legions todo list is the Porsche (908 spyder) from PCars... hopefully that gets done sooner or later as that is the type that McQueen drove in 1970 Sebring.

I've done a search about of the car and I've not found the 280zx GTX as a mod. I've found there are models out there but no actual mod at all. Game models.ru has it from FM6/FM7 model but not the PC2 model.

I have a few more!

Will pack them up an stick on my google drive later, some are not the best as they where my first ever converion jobs based on legions original stuff

This will be great to see I can't wait to add these to my Group 5 pack.

No its ACR. ASR is bringing the F399 from 1999. The one from ACR is the 2000 Ferrari F2000. Sadly i cannpt post a link because you have to be in the favebook group to download it. Search for Assetto Corsa Racer

Now we have 2 F2000 for AC:

Front: the newly released one from MSF; behind: RSS Formula 2000s (which is based on the F1 2000).

Which one is better?

Test this car at Reboot Team's Suzuka. I'm having an issue where it suddenly hits something and severely damages the car just as it's about to enter T15, the fast sweeping turn before the chicane at the end of the lap. I'm still investigating this issue.

@Jimlloyd
Is this the 'reported issue' that has led to a quick update? I can't test at the moment but the car was changed and I am hoping the one currently on the page has solved this problem.

EDIT: I now see that after a bit of defensive argument a second (Italian) driver has reported the same issue and Matteo now accepts there is a problem with collider. So the current version isn't fixed, but I expect it will be soon.

Has anyone with an Oculus Quest 2 tested this wireless setup (hack) with Assetto Corsa?
It apparently performs better than the link cable for PCVR games.

I was considering an Oculus Rift S since it's price dropped to $299, but my IPD is well outside it's fixed range (though it has software adjustment). The Quest 2 is the same price, and should be better as long as it doesn't have any latency or processing issues.

How to edit an collider if you need to in case its bugged ect...
Go into the car's folder and double click on the collider.kn5 then it should look like this click on the unpack kn5
2021.01.08-15.59.png

Then when you save it somewhere go into 3DS MAX and load it up it should look like this go into the modify tab on the right side of the screen and choose vertex like this.
2021.01.08-16.04.png

Then blue dots around the model should appear for an example here we want to make the front of the collider longer so we
select all of the front blue dots so they turn red that means they are selected and then go up select the select and move option in 3ds max and
then move it forward so it extends forwardly it should look like this

2021.01.08-16.04_02.png

If you want to move the part of the collider a bit up select the blue dots that you want and move them up like this:
2021.01.08-16.05.png

You can also move the whole collider with all of the blue dots up/down or forward/backward you can also move the sides of the collider to the left or right just select the blue side dots so it comes close to the side mirrors.
You can also resize the collider with the select and uniform scale tool in 3DS MAX.
When you're done save it in 3DS MAX like a normal model and load it with KSeditor with its textures then save it as an collider or whatever the original collider .kn5 name was then paste it into the folder remember to make a backup! and see how it looks keep you'r 3DS MAX open so you finish up the whole collider just so it looks perfect in game. If it doesn't look right still then i would suggest making a brand new collider for the car or loading up the 3d model of the car in 3ds max just select the chassis and the collider and try to match the collider to the chassis.

Speaking of old IMSA racing, there are a number of skins for various tracks that really bring that period look to the location, Sonoma used to be called Sears Point, is there anyone willing to make a skin for that?

Daytona would be great to see too.

But what are they gonna do if ACC has the gt world challenge license? Make a GT Open videogame? Will they do a WEC videogame??

By looking at screen shots FIA GT3 but ACC in that boat already so how knows what they are going to do.

Thanks for the update, the background terrain blends-in really well...

Kerbs look OK to me, perhaps wider than normal, but helpful in taking the turns just that much faster/wider...

Thanks for referencing the download link... You'll enjoy this update then...

They do look a bit big and out of place... But when driving, it's helpful to know the almost-blind turn is fast approaching...

Here's a spruce-update for this track... Got to try out some new lights - which by the way look way better imo...

Mod Features
- x3 replay cameras
- rain FX
- track lighting

Rename txt-file back to zip-format and extract... Backup your files if necessary before installation... Constructive feedback is always welcome. Enjoy.

Is there a final version of this track with the complete set of fixes and updates?

Has Rio de Janeiro been updated/improved? the 3 other, Prague, Maple Valley and Bernese Alps, are optimized with a decent track mesh and AI, but Rio has not got much love. It is also the only one of the 4 Forza Track that does not have multiple layouts. It is a shame, because some good racing can be had there. Just saying.

Probably old news for the AC modder die-hards --> CSP 1.70 is available for public.

After a complete uninstall/reinstall of AC vanilla I started all over again. Also all cars (1500+) and tracks (300+). Deleted everything (well moved these folders to another drive) and only fresh downloaded and installed the tracks/cars which has a excellent quality. Hell of a job but better overview and saves disk space :). Probably placebo 2.0 but I think a completely clean install runs faster, better, smoother vs the one I used with a couple of years of adding, moving, replacing files. A lot of plug ins, mods had impact on the overall performance. Especially when you're doing just something and hardly know what you're exactly doing. After MS-DOS3.31 I gave up on understanding OS etc.

if you remove SOL, CSP and all add-on apps, and run a Kunos car/track combo... there should be 0% difference compared to a "fresh" install using identical setting.
There is nothing "extra" to slow it down. AC is not MSDOS 5.0 (nor XP)

I know I know. I want a justification for a couple of days of reinstalling, deduplicating etc. --> Placebo 2.0 :dopey: but I'm happy now.
BTW maybe because I always started always via CM in stead of AC I noticed via the reinstall it was version 1.16.4 (I was running 16.3 for the last decade).

@MrB00 : Now running with Sol2.1 alpha 3 and CSP1.70 but too short to draw any conclusion. It seems ok without errors. Only annoying thing but probably nothing to do with CSP1.70 is a complete dark replay (weather starts at 00:00 and you have to manually adjust the time). Have to google here how to solve that.
