I know I know. I want a justification for a couple of days of reinstalling, deduplicating etc. --> Placebo 2.0 :dopey: but I'm happy now.
BTW maybe because I always started always via CM in stead of AC I noticed via the reinstall it was version 1.16.4 (I was running 16.3 for the last decade).

@MrB00 : Now running with Sol2.1 alpha 3 and CSP1.70 but too short to draw any conclusion. It seems ok without errors. Only annoying thing but probably nothing to do with CSP1.70 is a complete dark replay (weather starts at 00:00 and you have to manually adjust the time). Have to google here how to solve that.
ok cool, well keep us posted if you notice any drops. I updated my CSP to 0.1.69 and some of my frames just took off up the garden. I lost around 40 lol. So for now i'm sticking to SOL 2.0 and 0.1.68 and not upgrading just in case

Just read the changelog properly and it says he fixed the performance issues so maybe I will try it.

Has anyone with an Oculus Quest 2 tested this wireless setup (hack) with Assetto Corsa?
It apparently performs better than the link cable for PCVR games.

I was considering an Oculus Rift S since it's price dropped to $299, but my IPD is well outside it's fixed range (though it has software adjustment). The Quest 2 is the same price, and should be better as long as it doesn't have any latency or processing issues.



The Rift S gives you more IPD options compared to Quest 2's three fixed settings. The great thing about the Quest 2 though is, yes, it could probably play AC wirelessly, but you'd also need to watch battery life.
 
For testing purposes I selected this combo:

Changed nothing only swapping the CSP version 1.68, 1.69, 1.70.
Started with the latest, downgraded CSP, exit CM, restart CM, Drive, Go
Did the same from 1.69 --> 1.68

1.68: no go (as I'm using SOL2.1)
1.69: 112 fps
1.70: 130 fps

PS Did a search in this 2100 pages thread "replay dark" and also CSP, SOL discord channels. One result but the same question in feb 2020. So if one of the experts has an answer about the 0:00 dark replay. Thx!

CSP1.69 : start 90fps during race around 100fps*
CSP1.70: start 100fps during race around 110fps*

* more variety depending on the number of AI in close visible range.

Hello everyone

For the pleasure of all French peoples (like me) and others here, I reworked ENTIRELY a version of the Rollovers' skin for they Ligier JSP-217 LMP2. The skin is the "#23 Panis-Barthez Competition" whose ran the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans. A huge job was made on the textures and logos.
This skin is in 4096 x 4096 px (like my lastest realisation)

It’s been some intensive bug hunting, but hopefully now performance should get back up. Also, if you remember, some time ago I’ve made a post about disc filtering for shadows reducing noise in shadows in front of the car (here’s new comparison screenshots). Now, I improved its general implementation and made it standard, with a few other optimization along the way to try and compensate for its extra cost. I had to start cutting out those extra shader sets to try and make things compatible with rain (otherwise, I’d have to triple rain-related shader sets, and, if nothing else, it would make CSP quite a lot larger and slower to build).

Hopefully new build would work fine in general, but if not, I’ll work on shadows filtering more, possibly lowering quality a bit.

As for rain, unfortunately there wasn’t a lot of time to work on it with all the fixes, but now rain starting in the middle of the race should no longer cause that annoying freeze (and rain drops on windscreen won’t act all weird around wipers anymore).

Next stop, I hope, is to work on finally adding rain tyres with proper look and online syncronization, and to start guessing different tyre parameters.

Since we are on csp updates topic, 1.70 should have fixed the fps drop issue for good. However, refractions on headlights seem to be broken for most people
That's unfortunate, it was a real wow moment when those refractive lights were patched to work in VR. Makes all cars with vanilla lights look a little flat by comparison.
Hopefully a quick hotfix is incoming.
 
Seems Teretonga Park conversion doesn't have a correct hotlap starting point.
Here is one with modified models.ini included.
Rename attached file to teretonga_park.7z and extract everything into teretonga_park folder (replace models.ini)

The other version was a horrible rip anyways, the Neil Shaw convert has come straight from a rF2 laser scan so there's no doubt about the quality
 
I do @browser, which I found odd and I reverted back to the version I was using prior.

I hope everyone's doing well. I was wondering if anyone has a version of the Shuto Expressway C1 track with better AI lines and/or a larger grid? It's pretty similar to Tokyo expressway from GT sport and I wanted to recreate a race, though to my dismay the max grid size is 11 cars.
