That apparently went under my radar. :) Do you have a link?

No, but it's pretty easy. In the ffpp ini change the type from LUT to Gamma, you'll see a Gamma value that you can adjust. I believe the default is 0.5, increase it to make the wheel lighter and decrease it to make it heavier. I've settled on 0.8, gives good weight but isn't too heavy.

I've been thinking of getting into the modding business, so I decided to embark on a personal project. Not an official mod, but something I've been working on for a while. Took the chassis of the PURE Mazda mod and did an LS3 swap. Gears/weight distributions/spring/dampening rates/sounds have all been changed. Quite the handful but very satisfying if you get it right. I also added 3 levels of TCS so that most anyone can drive it.

I haven't posted this anywhere else due to the fact that I didn't "make" the body myself, so consider this a GTPlanet special

Let me know what you think 👍

Oh lordy, that's a hooner right there! Just did 5 laps on Silverstone Int'l, first 2 with default TC, and yeah, very easy to drive. Took TC off and shortened the gears and whoohoo!!! :dopey: 4th gear drifting ensued.

Sound and tune were convincing, for me; great job on your first mod.

That's the thing I love about this game, it's so easy to learn how to do effective but simple mods. One of my favorites is the Caterham Academy which I gave a (approx) 300hp Civic engine, Civic sound, short 6 speed transmission and slightly stickier, wider Miata tires.

Happy to share it here if anyone wants it..

I'll try it tomorrow. Did you add weight to simulate the LS3?

Yes I added the correct weight accounting for not only the engine but also transmission and drivetrain that is unique to the V8 powered Miata's 👍

Yes please :)

I had no idea how easy it was to mod cars in AC. You spend more time looking for the correct numbers and figures on Google than you do actually do coding. The hard part is actually coming up with a good looking 3D model, hence why I "borrowed" mine.

Yep, I do!

Does the original mod need to be installed for this to work? Installed but not showing up in game. Downloading original mod now to check.

Not sure. I have the original installed. This is the "S2" version so the original may be required. Let me know if that works...

Yep, original needs to be installed for it to work. Car is awesome by the way, I took it for a lap around the ring with TC off. Dorifto!

Also Youtube's compression of late is awful, what the hell happened? Looks like the 980ti was downgraded to a 960.
Thanks! I can't wait to try this Caterham in AC. I'm not the biggest fan of the Caterham I currently have in AC, but it can be fun. With that Civic engine and short 6 speed I have a feeling it's going to be a lot more fun to whip around.

You're not the first person that I've seen complain about the compression on YouTube videos recently. That really sucks. I'll have to look into it and see what they're doing differently and if there is a way to make our uploads look better.

Ugh.

Have been using AC to teach the girlfriend how to drive, totally forgot about mechanical damage as I had it turned off for her. Turned it back on for myself, jumped into the Caterham and blew the engine almost immediately, having totally forgotten to adjust the damage in the files. I've fixed that issue now and supplied a new link.

 Is there any ETA on these yet?

Well I asked Sovers a while back, around two maybe three months ago now about how it was going and he said around late this year. Sadly afterthat he ran into the dreaded IRL problems and his gpu commit seppuku as a result of not being noticed and this issue lasted until late last month so its no clue. It was meant to come out for summer this year but thats not happening 100%.

This mod is expected to blow everything out of the water big time so its gonna take a lot of time. Also i think its gonna be the first full season mod pack, no other free mod has been able to do that yet. We have sort of had bite sized samples of many car types

That looks amazing, almost on par with Raceroom's Group 5 pack  I just hope it won't end up as paid DLC :ill:

Hehe good sir. This is the reason that DLC exists. Well the rfactor version at least. Sad thing about the raceroom versions is that they have really poor interiors for some reason.

Oops, I mean paid mods. My bad :P

I don't mind if Kunos ends up taking the mod, brush it up to their quality and released it as an "official" paid DLC, as they have done with a couple of cars in the past. I'm generally not a fan of paid mods. This is just my personal principle though and not everyone might agree.

I'll gladly donate for a mod of this calibre. The guys making it have worked hard on it so why shouldn't I shout them a beer for being able to enjoy the fruits of their labour?

im doubt it would be made official, there is a lot of licenses they would have to get and Porsche -_-

tbh unless console sales are insane i think licensing will slow down. they have licenses for around 30 cars that arent in the game yet and kunos tend to only tell us 50% of what they have licensed. They will likely keep licensing tracks but realistically they have enough content licensed to keep them busy for around a year and a half.

If you make beer from fruit down under you're doing it wrong:lol:
