Yesterday i finally bought a gaming PC.Holy crap what a difference between AC on PC and on Playstation. Physics, handling even sound is SO much better than on PS, its like totally different game and i still didn't installed any mods.

Last few weeks i was actually somewhat comparing GT7 and AC on my PS5. But now there's no comparison between those two.The cars in AC feels so amazing, track textures, bumps, tyre grip.. Holy crap.. Best decision i ever made. Now just need to buy Oculus Quest 2😁

I also tried Iracing, but im not impressed at all.
Welcome to the party! I'm 55, and have been sim-racing for years, and using VR for more than five years.

AC on PC with so many mods from a great community makes it one of the best simulators right now. This weekend, I went to a car event at a neighbor's house. In exchange for car rides, he was taking donations to send to his friends in Ukraine. He had four of his cars there. One was amazing, a Cooper that I had never seen in person. When I got home, I was delighted to find out I had the same car in AC and immediately took it out on a few tracks.

Get that Quest 2. You'll love it. It's a great well-rounded product with many benefits, and it's great for sim-racing.

Hey all! I'm interested in adding some grid spots to an AC track, namely the DDM Tokyo R246 track. I'd like to increase from 24 to 28. Tried just changing the UI folder and they work fine in pit lane, but unfortunately not so much starting grid (worth a shot anyway)

Is the only way to do this from something like 3D Studio Max as per this video?

I've never used it before and I don't mind doing it if that is the only way, but wanted to see if there was a simpler way

I never used 3D Studio Max before so I can't compare it to 3DSimED3. Some have mixed feeling about 3DSimED3, but for me it gets the job done. it can sometime be glitchy when dealing with certain models like GTP's Radical RXC Turbo GT3 for example. The menu can be archaic for some. Precisely moving each pit boxes will take a lot of time, but if you're unsure then I think there is a free trial before it asks you pay.

BTW I wouldn't mind making a pit extension layout for Tokyo R246. I was on my to-do list, but it wasn't a priority.

(Using Jarama as example)

As for doing something quickly without much experience, anything, even a glitchy program with a bad interface is easier than using 3D Studio Max. You can spend a lot of time trying to hack things together with it, but you really need to commit a few months to learning how to use its most basic features. You can do just about anything with 3D Studio Max, and it's packed with features and capabilities, but it probably has the most unintuitive, clunky interface of any program you'll ever use.

However, if you do have time to learn 3D Studio Max or Blender, it's worth the time.

This guy makes some of the best tutorials for both.

I've noticed the race start light is somehow delayed? If I let go of clutch right at light out the AI can always get ahead of me. In drag race it says my reaction time is 900ms, which can't possibly be that long!

Goodnight. If you happen to have problems in being able to post the "download link" of the Mercedes 300 SLR ( by Legion ) that I modified, it is up to the moderators to "delete". It's not 100% perfect like other "works" on this site and others, but to enter the "time tunnel" and pay homage to the great drivers of the time, it's worth it. Just want to share for you to have fun like me, with diversity of skins, versions of the "Mille Miglia" for ( Moss/Jenkinson, Herrmann/Eger), another modification for the "Targa Florio" without aero-brake, for ( Fangio /Kling, Moss/Collins and Flitch/Titterington ) which was also used by ( Fangio and Kling in the Mille Miglia, raced alone, without co-drivers ). And the other version is the same as LeMans by Legion (but also with aero-brake not working). Now I just need someone to make a similar route for the "Mille Miglia", for now I use a Targa Florio route and some others that I think are similar.
Have fun!

Good afternoon. A small fix on every Mercedes 300SLR I posted yesterday, to improve handling. A new file: "tyres" and inclusion of another 2 ( camber_table_front, camber_table_rear). The file that changes is "tyres"... The old one goes with it: "Tyres-Copia".

I just tried the URD Cup Porsche, and found it to be really mushy and not so precise. Had a look at the tire app, and..does that say, you're starting on completely worn out tires? The screenshot is from right at session start, not a single meter driven (yes, they are cold as well, but even when warm they feel like they're just there to hold the car up).

Works fine for me not sure the prioblem there
URD made a mistake with that car. The folder is named "URD_Darche_cup_2021", capital letters!

We're running a championship with this car at the moment and I've had some problems with apps before the first race myself. Changing the folder name to non capitals fixed them all. :)

And this car is a lill bit tricky to drive compared to the Kunos one. But not nearly as hard as the new one in ACC. :D

They said (several months ago) that an update would be coming soon that fixes issues with the car. I'm still waiting though!

An update wouldnt help here (for 99% of the users) if you've the car already installed, bc stupid windows doesnt know the difference between capitals and non capitals in case of folders or filenames. ;)

Hi @ClaudioWRC74 - will this help? _ I have had a few issues with times weather etc reverting when saved - Maybe its a CM/CSP release glitch?

I'll take a look at it my friend. But I don't want to change the championships once I start, it's just that when I finish a race it doesn't save, I think maybe I have too many championships installed...but I will watch your video and see to make a copy of the champs.ini file after each race

I imagine that would be one of the updates. They usually ask you to remove the car and install the new version if it's something that can't just be fixed in the kn5.

Actually I can read and I have seen several instances where the wear indicator bugs out when the temp is too low. Great way to be a pompous ass though.
Yeah sorry, that was on me. Wasn't meant to sound that bitchy. But i have tried warming the tires, it didn't change anything. I will try the other suggestions as well, thanks for the reply anyways!

Hello guys .
Forgive the disturbance does anyone know if TV cams have been made for this circuit Thank you for your kind reply and possible help.

Let me fix this: because stupid modders doesnt know the difference between capitals and non capitals in case of folders or filenames.
I wouldn't call the modders stupid, whitespace and mixed-case letters are perfectly valid for folder names after all. It only becomes a problem because Content Manager is inconsistent in handling folder names (=carId) for read/write operations from/to their internal storage. Some write operations seem to lower-case the carId first, some don't. Same goes for read operations.

Here's an example:
Take a car with no recorded stats and uppercase some of the folder name's letters, then drive some laps with the car.
Content Manager will display the best lap but no mileage on the car's detail page.

cm_stats_01.jpg

Now Quit CM and change the folder name to all lower case letters, then open CM again. The best lap is now gone but the mileage is displayed (it might be necessary to press "Reload" once to update the stats in some cases). Edit: turns out quitting is not even required for CM to pick up the changes.

cm_stats_02.jpg

In any case this should be an easy fix in the CM codebase and nobody would have to talk about this ever again or go through their 3k mods to rename their folders or write a powershell script or whatever.

I have been writing this for so long I can't even remember.
But -and I'm not sure I understand why so much changes should be needed- it is enough to replace the uppercase letters in the folder name with lowercase letters. Then all goes well, at least that's what I always experienced (even if the file names in the folders still have upper case letters.

Is it the same track as the 2008 version(not in layout, the actual base track model etc)?
If it is, then I have a set of 1991 TV cams for that track.

Now we have a Honda to race against the BMW.

I assume you are aware that we already have these bikes in AC:

Suzuki GSX-R 1000

Honda Gold Wing

But both are for traffic use. You need to change some settings in the data-folder to get them "ready to race".

doesn't save, I think maybe I have too many championships
The vanilla starter allows up to 45 Championships at once.
Dont know about CM

Of course there is a possibility creating even more but you have to Save a champ.ini somewhere and than overwrite this one.
You also can Roll back by saving the new one sonewhere and replacing by the old one

Always overwrite one of those existing (up to 45) files.
Never try to create new one if you have already 45 created. Everything will crash.

Honestly, I've tried them and they're a bit rubbish, firstly because the rider's hands aren't on the handlebars, and secondly, when you're cornering you feel like you're watching a broomstick stand up straight on the saddle.
