I know it would be nice. But to add meshes in a shader, this will be more GPU hungry and so i just decided to have a flat surface. Did you see the last change i did in that post. I fixed a thing, where the sun shines through the shader. I updated the file in this post.@Peter Boese just to confirm, my smart shadows ARE deactivated.
Further testing seems to indicate that the lack of shadows at session start seems to happen when swapping between a lot of cars (while testing/deleting, for example). It hasn't happened in the past couple of days during 'normal' driving, so might be related in some weird way to the CM UI memory leak that happens when selecting lots of different cars.
Another question about the very useful Pure landscape generator.: any plans to try and add simple hill raising to provide more of a 3D effect? This would be really useful to surround tracks with hills or mountains and cut off views to horizon infinity.
Also, any further thoughts about the 'always summer months no matter what geotags are' option we previously discussed, to ensure consistent lighting and stop (for example) southern hemisphere races being in low winter light if June is set as a global date?
