i know this is out of topic, but why does brands hatch, snetterton, donington, caldwell, and oulton park all have the same logo? who owns those tracks

Those are all British tracks. If there is a single owner to all of those or any other reasons though, I do not know.

Too bad it's a FB page but a pretty good resource nonetheless for new mods, etc. coming from various places around the web. Beats the hell out of having to go to individual sites to see what's new.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/794640827533685/

Guys i had an idea.
What special about downloading every single car ? Just to have it ? I sure that 90 percent of cars downloader are remain forgotten, and have "just to have" tag. Moreover its not gran turismio series, where cars are created by PROs, but mod created by some unknown enthusiast ) m

Or maybe i miss something ?

Btw, as i see people are ready to pay 40usd for rtm mode, and its another idea i got about 959 dakar i made few days ago. I collect enough support , and then publish it. Supported money will go to another projects or paid 3d model . Not all models are on 3dhumed only. There are lot of freelancers who also have models for reasonable price . But probably most will disagree with this idea

I use to download anything and everything and then not even install 98% of it. Now I only download from certain modders but still don't install 98% of it. However I do like having certain cars installed even if I don't use them so I guess that's my 'collection'. Mostly vintage cars.

I'm up for $upporting your idea but I think there would need to be some organization. You have unique content of your website which I like but just randomly throwing a few bucks at one of your cars to support future unknown projects doesn't really appeal to me personally. Maybe round up some model candidates and supporters, have a vote and treat it like a Kickstarter campaign.

It sounds like a good idea i will think about it !

The reality is, there are some that like to tell everyone they have 8,580 cars and 1,371 tracks, what ever that is that makes them feel good. When in fact, 98% of them all are garbage. But some like to gather mass trash.

Like Electro, I've dumpstered more tracks and cars then I've kept by a massive margin.
Tracks by Terra, FatAlfie, LeBluem,Lilski,Rainmaker,ACTrackreboot (rip) and a couple others are the best out there. Why have wonky others?
Same thing with cars.

So $upporting for that kind of quality is a no-brainer.

You hear us Tony B? :gtpflag:

Count me in! For good, beautiful or meaningful projects, I am willing to spend money. And if there are enough people, that should be fine. The selection process suggested by Electroforce is a good idea.

Complement: And the link to the finished product will only be sent to those who participated in the project via PM. Otherwise the give me - give me - types again the beneficiaries. Advantage for users of this forum!

Exactly.
So i will think about election process when have time . Or just simply will make a poll somewhere. There we can choose. And proceed with it.
If someone has more clear idea how to do it, please share

Don't want to come across as a downer, but...

It sounds to me like you're all talking about starting exactly the kind of closed group that so often gets criticised here. The thing I enjoy about this forum is that it's just open sharing, by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, not an exclusive club. Also, there aren't fights when something gets 'passed around', because that's exactly what everyone is really aiming for.

Would love to hear your top 10 or top 25 cars/ tracks ? RD did a "best of thread" once and that and SOL was the reason i got back into AC. Best thread in ages.

Hi gents,
What about a new sportcar? Here is the Honda NSX 2017. 4 engines, close to 600 hp

Have fun, Mike.
My first post here. Thanks to all for bringing those mods!As a Honda fan I found some great Hondas here(s2000 turbo 500ps,Nsx Na2.Nsx tuned NA1...,)
Thanks Mike173 for the new NSX.I hope you dont mind my first try via CM and ini files to make my own version I will not share it to anyone...
IMO car has a lot of understeer even without throttle it wont steer in good.I dont know how to deal with complex stuff so I edited diffs, suspension and steering rack and now its good.Just have to find out how to lower rear tyre grip a little on semislicks. Also I added more brake power to it.
Replaced sound in CM with Maserati Levante S I think its better for it then race R35 GTR sound.
Question:how to remove backfire? It comes not from exhaust in your NSX but from left rear side of rear bumper. Thanks

I appreciate the offer but I think I'm going to try and figure it out and do it myself although I'm not sure if I want to get into skinning quite yet as I spend enough time with sim racing as is. We'll see.

There are two possibilities...
1. the number is a separate object that overlays on the car body, but that would be very unusual and it doesn't make sense for a number that repeats only once on one car.... overlayed objects are used for stripes and similar things that repeats over many cars.

2. The number is painted on the alpha channel as well to achieve a sense of shine or matt reflection

I suspect that the second case is true, and you haven't corrected the alpha channel... if so, just paint the alpha channel in white (where the number was).
...and I suggest using photoshop. Gimp is ok, but for doing skins, photoshop is better organized regarding the UI and workflow.

Cheers and have fun !

Yeah, I totally agree. Not only that but especially the option to work with smart objects. You can't do that in Gimp.
And of course being able to paint on the 3D model directly. You can only do that in Photoshop.
Gimp is great software. Very stable and not RAM devouring like PS. But for high-quality skins Photoshop is a must IMHO.
If you want to start skinning just go ahead and make one. Just give it a colour and a number, something very simple. You'll learn a lot more than trying to edit existing skins. Good luck and have fun learning !!! :boggled:

rss_formula_2000, the mirrors are black, I checked in CM showroom, the right name is in mirrors.ini.
I tried using the material of an other RRS F1 that has working mirrors, did not work? any other idea?

Lots of cars are affected.
You can either go back to an earlier CSP version, or disable real mirrors.
It has been reported several times on the CSP/Sol discord channel, but no real solution so far.

I tried to revert to 140, I updated to 185, because SOL install recommended it, but 140 does not work with sol 1.3.0.
deactivating real mirror worked, thank you.
I hope they find a fix, it is so strange how only some mod cars are affected.:odd:

This gives me an idea, what if we setup a donation fund for the GTP Modding Team for them to hire modellers and people to work on physics. It would mods to be able to be shared more and even posted on RD, and even modders like Gary Paterson would probably give respect as well if we used scratch made models or original physics.

I hope so too because with real mirrors disabled we obviously can't adjust them...

Personally I love those type of 'top' or 'best of' lists or especially car/track combo lists that can make for some great racing that you may have never thought about before.

Maybe we can start a GTP top 50 mod list..I'm sure there are a lot of gems that have gone undiscovered

Here is SimRacing604's top 50 best car list....at least the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe made the list which would be my pick.

Hello.
Fixed backfire position. Please if you like.

Correct the position again.

if a solution comes up, I will let everyone know in this thread. It cannot be that hard to figure for RSS, it is mostly their cars who are affected, not even all of them.

This is kinda an interesting idea. Would be cool if the list could include 0-5 star rating vote system from GTP Members. Have you ever seen this list of mods? Seems like some of these might be considered top mods?

https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/protyres-ini-lut-pack.18088/

Cheers!

yes I have in fact and have used it to try and search out a lot of those cars. I totally forgot about it

Regarding the above list from Simracer604, I was just thinking to myself that it is totally biased as I'm pretty sure he is sent most of those cars that aren't official content obviously from the modders for exposure/advertising
