oh schaiße after stressing the whole day with so many files and deleting them. i am happy that finally so many things work as intended. but for that i had to delete so many files in my ac folders and also then i wanted to delete some stuff in my trash bin, i also deleted them. whilst deleting them in my trash bin i "sadly" final deleted some files which had been empty files in my ac folder which i found with some software. hopefully i didnt delete some important files now gone for ever, sp i really hope that everything related to them (idk what they were) still works, wish me luck

OK folks... finally got around to finalising the Repsol-livery (rear-end paint-design, that is) - and that completes the project... hopefully!

Will test ingame, and then work on a skin-ini for each...

As you can imagine, a lot of work, a lot of love, and lots of hours (about 120hrs worth) have gone into this project - and the results look outstanding.

Happy racing!

EDIT: I'd not like these liveries ending up in someone's patroen page or elsewhere for profit - that would be so unfair - so how can this be prevented???? Presumably NOT! Might come up with something, maybe hurtful to some, but what else can be done??? I'd be interested to hear opinions or ideas from anyone here, cheers.
These look fantastic - are they likely to be released at all?

I used the cortina one for my AI 1937 championship and they make for the illusion as well. A trained eye would notice the smoke position is slightly off but running on spa 1938 in a Delage15s8 in the middle of dirt smoking Auto Unions is something else

Thanks Tetri- did you use version 2.0 as all the smoke positions are sorted except the Alfa and Cortina maybe slightly off but much better. Glad you like it, I've just added flames and smoke to the first Grand Prix Legends F1 car. Glad you're using and enjoying as planned. I now realise that you mean you added the smoke to different cars , makes sense. I can try and do them properly for you if you like- lmk which models of Delage and Auto Union.

Yeah i'm using the last version. With the AI pack on Reboot Sebring it's absolutly glorious.

Sure. I'm still sorting out issues with those 1930s era cars - the simdream suck ass so they're out, and Ai is struggling big time. But for sure you'll get the links just before i upload everything so you can fix the smoke properly on them.

Most excellent.

Hi everyone, question for F1 mod collectors here. Any good F1 mods or cars for 74, 75 and 76 seasons? For 1974 I know we have Bazza's mod. But I need some more advice on 75 and 76 cars.
Not sure how relevant this is but here are two cars that might catch your interest:

74: https://perendinator.blogspot.com/2023/12/raspberry.html

76: https://b68ul2zl.sellfy.store/p/ferrari-312t2-1976/

Not going to comment on the quality but I have both personally and not sure what else is out there

COTA 2024 sun burnt skin (version of Fenryr)

Since we see a really burnt grass during the 2024 F1 weekend I edited some of the files to have a similar look. Just place the skins folder into the cota_2022 track folder and enable it in CM or just drag and drop the *.rar into CM.

skins.rar - 15.6 MB

Before

After

Works as well with @Pyyer ´s extensions!
Sorry guys, I made a mistake with that skin. For all of you who have a black line near the track, please go into the skins folder and delete the grass_base2.dds. Then it should be fine.

Apologies.

What do you guys think is the best damage level for F1 races? I know the damage level 100 would be the most realistic but perhaps it's too extreme as there is some wheel-to-wheel tight racing sometimes when small contacts occur.

Most F1 cars have the default damage level at 20 in damage.ini which is way too low, imho.

[DAMAGE]
INITIAL_LEVEL=20

You can continue the race even when you crash to the wall 60 km/h and only some minor aero damage occurs. That shouldn't be the case.

Have you played with this setting?

Talking about mid 30s mods, so far my selection is revolving around a few cars :
-the 1934 Maserati 8CM (HSS)
-the Delage 15s8 Seaman (Fourty two)
-the w125 mercedes (mantasisg and aphidgod)
-the auto union type C (gary peterson)

I added the Alfa romeo Tipo B P3 (GoD) and the Alfa 12C-36 (Legion) cause they make for a funny rabbit to chase despise having completely odd physics especially braking and cornering, but am i missing some gems? I found the simdream 1937 pack to be atrocious, and they behave like modern berlines on the track.

The AI cannot handle the Napier Railton sadly, maybe a fix needed.

HSS have the Mercedes W25, the Bugatti T59 and the Auto Union Type A from 1934.
Paid Patreon only, while they're in early access.

They also have a Alfa Romeo Monoposto (aka Tipo B, P3 yada-yada) free on SimVendor. The model is different to @GzeroD 's car (narrower) and altho it's labelled as a 1934 (and skinned from 32-35), I suspect it might actually be the skinny-er 1932/3 Formula Libre version.
"For 1934 the car was upgraded with a 2.9 litre engine and wider bodywork to conform with the 750 kg formula."
~
Golden Era
The change was from 65cm to 85cm apparently, which seems to align with the differences in the models.

Whatever the truth, the mod has improved hugely along it's path to 1.0, and is well worth a look.
And now that I'm looking, I see that the Bugatti T59 has reached ver 1.0, which is when HSS traditionally releases cars for free on Overtake or SimVendor.

Great! The P3 needed an update. Will have a look at them all, thank you very much for your input. I'll add the t59 once it's out. I paid once for HSS wip and there's a bit of everything in the pack, so i'll wait for them to turn v1.0 before featuring them.

Ok, I know it's not friday yet, but I have other plans for friday.

I think I'm done for now, but there are still a few skins I would like to do when the dust settles. The 1984 Zepro and the Cirkelkaffe liveries are probably the last two fairly famous ones I haven't done. And of course, the mandatory fictional Durex-livery. Rest assured, it will come. And perhaps a fictional tabacco-livery of some kind as well. But no ATCC liveries, and no Japanese anime. This is a serious Swedish car, not a toy.

all-skins.jpg

(Ok then, maybe I'll do some ATCC liveries, if there are any cool looking ones.)

Hello guys... Does anyone know how to "properly" simulate air density in AC as I would be able to reach real top speeds in Mexico if I can set up this thing...

Reduce the global CD gain from aero.ini if you want more top speed.

CD_GAIN=1 ; Coefficient of drag multiplier (for easy fine tuning)

Set it to like, 0.8 or whatever matches your preference. That's the easiest way.

I'm a bit disapointed to not have more skins for Tommy Volvo 240, I think his is better than this one ...

That's nice, thanks. Do you happen to have a fix for both rear view mirrors too ?

I have no problems with the mirrors
Strange...in the mirror app I have only the center, no left or right. Center mirror (set to monitor is fine).
And both others look like this:

Got the car from N&F Modding discord...

Hi, and thanks for reworking this awesome track! Can you do something just with this no-chicane layout in a next update?
I've seen a few releases of this track but no one remembered to remove this tires barrier beside the wall on the main straight. It is in the way especially at 150mph and is a serious hazard, as it would be in real life, so in the sim too! :D
