Another question, i find my lights not bright enough at night time on most cars, is there a option to turn them up or increase range in CSP

Just not something I have dabbled in yet. Haven't even got anything to paint dds, I will when I have figured out converting cars.

Cheers @gladbecker82 made a tune called road car and deleted the other skins, popped that one in, sweet as.
converting cars is WAY harder than doing (basic) skins. You will learn it in no time.

Hello is this car available to the public for download? I don't see any links or attributions in the post. Is it payware? Freeware? Your original work? Upgrades from others work? Thank you for your hard work and your reply, cheers!

Hi, i'm not allowed here to post link to public download for my reworked mod, because it' from a payware mod by simdream.
The reputation of this group is obviously ******, they are accused of theft and plagiarism and a lot of people here are debating whether to publish updates or reworks from their base mod...so...when i finish my upgrade and i if you have the mod base, p.m me and i send to you a link ;)

I don't think posting reworked files without the base mod would be an issue, would it? @daan ?

My first track day car after I finished residency was a gutted/roll-caged EJ Civic with a swapped H22, a bunch of different RARBs, custom KW coilovers and a Quaife LSD. So yeah, I kind of understand how FWD LSDs and setups work. My car had a ton of torque and I can tell you that having an LSD doesn't let you re-write the laws of physics. If you didn't exercise throttle control mid and late-corner, the car would happily understeer itself to death until you backed off.

I have no idea about this little car or if it had the sort of power to do that, but in general with FWD's, if you're not maxing out the traction circle at all times - you're not trying hard enough. In other words, you should already be near the limit of adhesion on corner exit. Adding acceleration to that should induce a small (or large - that's where the throttle control comes into play) amount of understeer.

Also, I bet a lot of those Argentinian drivers are very good. They have a big racing tradition down there. Ever heard of a guy name Juan Manuel Fangio?

Have you tried that FIAT yet? I tried it again and it is diabolical.
Trust me, in fact don't trust, please try it... i really is not worth all this effort to defend it.

My opinion on trick race cars and expensive bits the point sort of is that you can re write the laws of physics.... don't F1 cars do just that? (could be driven upside down etc...).

I have been in race cars / track cars that sort of drive themselves and can make people think they are hero's....

Anyway, all of this for an God awful forza rip from a liar...

Physics is pure mathematics, it is impossible to break its laws. F1 cars use physics in their favor, and have a ground effect that allows them to take the curve faster, but it is physical, if you break you go to the grass.

Ah, I see you haven't yet seen the truth. It's okay. I was thinking to tell you how it really is, but you won't take my word anyway. You can talk to almost every other AC physics modder if you don't trust me.

As an anecdote, the KS Supra has negative SAI. They tweaked it a bit after release to stop the steering from feeling so weird. Yeah...
I know you from your excellent physics work on a variety of mods hosted on RD. Happy to see you here.

I believe you did a lot of the physics work on the (excellent) Skip Barber car, right?

Yes, that's me.

Apart from some help and custom load curves and some tweaked values from Papa on the tires and of course the general community chipping in with what they have, I did *all* of the physics work on the Skippy.

It's nice most people seem to like the Skippy, although in my own personal creator's opinion there wasn't enough reliable data to really get it as good as it should be.
For example we have a hypothesis that they run the road-spec tire Skippies very often on worn tires, while in AC everything seems to be completely fresh off the rack. So that will influence the transient balance mainly. Then there is the whole issue of not having any good American racetracks in AC that are accurate enough (ie: Laser, photogammetry) to really tell for sure where it stands. In the best tracks, it's similar but...not quite right.

Meanwhile on the contrary for roadcars you can find laserscanned geometries for some of them, damper dynos, good info on the springs and ARBs etc. and often video of them driving on either the laserscanned AC tracks, or tracks that are quite well made and smooth IRL like Suzuka. So IMO my roadcars are better than my racecars to now.

It's unlikely I'll stick around here unless summoned again for some reason. I just had to post because I saw the idea of my Supra being a modification of dj_amur/Esprit's Supra gaining some steam, and that's just not right.

- weather base "hazy": better twilight skies

- track-adaptions: added code to readout track config (this needs CSP 1.25.198 or later):
[SOL]
HORIZON_OFFSET=-0.0 ; positive values will lower horizon, negative values will lift it
SUN_DAWN=1 ; sunangle, where lightsource is faded in to lit up area
SUN_DUSK=1 ; sunangle, where lightsource is faded out
FOG_LEVEL=1.0 ; multiplier of fog level
FOG_BLEND=1.0 ; multiplier of fog blend
FOG_DISTANCE=1.0 ; multiplier of fog distance
SMOG_MORNING=0.2 ; smog level for early hours
SMOG_NOON=0.3 ; smog level for noon
SMOG_EVENING=0.4 ; smog level for late hours
EXPOSURE_FIX=1 ; set to <1 will darken the tracks

- clouds: small adjustments to color with sunset

was the sky too orange at dusk and dawn for you before this update?

Do any of you guys know what museum the BMW E46 M3 GTR is in?

What did Team BMW Motorsport do with them all? I think the one's that won the 2004 24 Hours of Nurburgring race are in Germany.

I'm not sure about the other one's specifically from the year 2000 until 2003, the one's that competed in the American Le Mans Series.

I know, slightly off-topic, but car related.

No, incorrect. Completely. My car has *nothing* to do with Esprit's Supra. It uses some leftover generics from Kunos but otherwise everything including the entire suspension, engine, aerodynamics, most of the tires and so on is by me. The base for the suspension is a laser scan provided by Aad Hofman.
It's well made and I didn't reference another mod and it's *definitely* not just Esprit's Supra with some changes. This is something else entirely.

Cool - I was just speculating when the car popped up so thanks for setting the record straight.
I thought this might have been a collaboration between you and Esprit, so glad to be corrected.

Could you explain a little more about the scanned suspension?
I understand how laserckan helps make an accurate 3Д model, but I don't quite understand how it helps make the right physics?
Or I incorrectly understood?

So with all the talk of encryption as of late, this type of stuff has been around for a bit. What good does it do for the creator/converter to purposely bork a mod? Seen this same kinda thing (sorta) with the Argentina pack/cars. Which ironically, after getting the real deal, they drive like absolute garbage.
Never mind the broken blurring wheels and engine notes having a higher pitch than 10khz.

The Viper and the Marcos may be found here and here. The Venturi is from a GTR2 mod, the rights to which are held by Wildman_fr. I am unsure of how to contact them.

Does this mean that you've successfully converted the BPR Endurance mod to AC? There are some great cars in that pack.

Would you be prepared to release it if I can track down Wildman_fr for permissions? He did apparently give permission to this guy: https://cosm1-simracingmods.blogspot.com/2012/08/bpr-global-gt-series.html (albeit that guys blog ends in 2013 and I can find no further trace of it...).

I find I have to unpack data quite often to fix things that the original modders missed (eg hands/wheel in synch, janky shifting animations) so if modders ARE going to start encrypting their mods then I hope they make sure they are nigh-on perfect, or respond to requests for updates when errors are reported.
