2 sessions and a lot of cursing and finally a clean lap:

27.821
1'02.375

Losing a lot especially from t1-t2.

Will drive it again, but only in small doses. :dopey:

Edit: Another dose:

27.142
59.511

Good thing this car is slow, because I've hardly run the reverse of this track, and I remember it being much harder than forward. :scared: I doubt this will be as good to me as the Stratos, but I'll give it a shot tonight.

EDIT: Er, are you running +20, -10, RH, Neils? When after an hour and a half I finally got a clean lap, it had these splits, using 210 gearing:

23.921 (seen .7xx :ouch:)/53.159

I lost a pile in the last sector when the nerves kicked in, but it was still faster than all my dirty laps.

This kind of reminds me of the current WRS week. The car does not want to stay on the track, the track is narrow, and the track is bumpy, all of which mean I am in "get a clean lap" mode, not "get a fast lap" mode. Obviously, I'm still pushing this understeery thing too hard if I punish it every lap for handling so badly by bashing it into the wall somewhere.

That's too fast man.
23.7? get real, you'd need a lancer EVO X.:dopey:

Ive pushed as hard as i could for 45 mins, and run out of patience.

I have come up with a clean lap though, but its no way near yours Austin.
Good T's 👍

Mine, so far, are:

T1: 24.027 (i wheelspun the hairpin, goddamnit :ouch:)
T2: 53.516 You want another .4 out of that? How? :lol:I was in the air during one turn!

Anyway, enough from me, good luck to everyone else, and yes, 210 gearing.

:irked:👍

Hmmm, I always tend to check and double check. :dopey:

... but I pray to, that I made some kind of mistake this time. :scared:

Yes, I am. Sorry to you and Neils I sounded so pretentious :guilty:, but I am indeed running RHs on the '74 Mitsubishi rally car. I think the difference is, I pushed as hard as I could for twice as long as you, because I have more time to spend, it seems. 💡 Keep running and I'm quite sure you'll get right around 53.0. It takes time to learn this one.

53.xx's seem pretty damn fast guys :scared: My test laps where around 57.x I think, I'll try it today and see what happens. I do remember that stock gearing is no good so 210-230 is probably better.

Its 210 all the way.

200 gives you a millisecond of limiter bounce at the start/finish line.

220 is too slow.

210 FTW.

or, in my case, 210 FT 2nd place till arora comes along, then 210 FT 3rd place till Mr P turns up, then 210 FT 4th place it will be.
Unless Hugo runs.

ahhh nuts..

:irked:👍

Oh the best thing..... i forgot to save my ghost that those T's came from, so now i got to run another lap.
👎:grumpy:

Unlucky there Dave .. been there as we all have I expect! keep your chin up mate ;)

Funny post though buddy ... gave me a chuckle anyway :sly:👍

I must've had a few too many lemon cellos when I dreamed this one up :P The first sector is quite a rush when you nail it and very frustrating when you get down the hill nice only to spin the hairpin as VEXD said :ouch: The second sector's not bad, just need some rythme. Find a few brake points on the last sector and your home free.

I tried 220 and agree that 210 is the way, I have a clean 54.4 after not too long. I'll be back after a few more 👍

... but I pray to, that I made some kind of mistake this time. :scared:

Nope. No mistakes. Gave it another go and got so pissed after 6 laps, that I spend the half night playing Rachet and Clank II. :D

See you on the last and very wide open track. :dopey:

Improved by about .35 with these, leaving even more on the table in the last sector than before.

23.818/52.714

I know why you are all skeptical of my times, and I understand that a new member without a maxdrive running faster (briefly, I suspect) than you guys that have been here a while is suspicious. But please do believe me when I say I am getting these times, and cleanly, with the right specs. I don't frankly see any point in making up times or cheating just to say I was faster. So this is the real product of my effort. And who knows, maybe using a DS2 is faster this week?

Without a maxdrive? I did not know that, I probably live close to you and I drive all around peddling my wears so if you wish I'll grab your mem card and upload replays for you 👍

PM me if you like

Got a new time with a crappy T1 but nearly a second faster in the final sector. I had no idea I had left that much on the table.

24.099/52.923

Hopefully I get a maxdrive soon so I can prove my time... this one would be fun to check for cleanliness. But it is legal; I checked thoroughly.

Bloody hell, another alien.

Get back in your spaceship.

Im about to have a session to see if i can find a time that comes close to the one i had with the splits i posted.

I am not about to have a session where i get into the 52's for T2.

This is because i live on the ground, and do regular things, like eat, sleep and go to work.
Instead of flying about in a spherical object, waving a laser gun around and trying to decide which cow to disect next.

Bloody aliens.

Seriously though, Austin, those are :ill: times, but not completely unobtainable; which would lead me to believe that you are just fast, not cheating.
Well done. 👍

If you would be so kind as to reveal your strategy for the uphill jump-left (between T1-T2) that comes after the uphill straight, that could be good.

Like arnie says.....

:irked:👍

Ok im back.

I did manage to see some 23 second T1's and some low 53 second T2's, but no 52 second T2's, that's just silly.

T1: 24.004:ouch:
T2: 53.230
I can see another half a second, to .7 left, but i'm not going after it, DFP's are expensive, and i've got a LAN to go to.

The best news is, i saved the lap this time :dopey: so i wont have to run this again. I'll settle for second place.
As long as Ron doesnt run :sly:
You get back in your spaceship too. 💡👍

I live on the ground too. And I eat, sleep, and go to school. But I apparently have more free time than you. That time was the product of a combined two hours or so, and it sounds like you never have that much time to spend.

So, at your request: that uphill jump is tough for me, too, second only to the first two corners in difficulty (I get those acceptably okay about one time in 5, because the back really doesn't want to stick). I find looking for the best speed over the jump is not the way to go, as it messes up your line for the next right and you fly into the wall. So I brake before the jump to ~63 mph, taking an out-middle-out-in line over the course of the left, lifting for a moment at the second "out" so I can drive through the apex of the non-jump part of that corner and get a good line into the right.

Sorry for the pathetic description! Haven't gotten as good as you at conveying how a lap should work.

Any effort is appreciated, thanx for that 👍
I think im doing what you are, just not as crisply.
I find i keep catching the wall thats jutting out on the right a bit further up the hill too. U know, the one just before the course opens up and you pass over T2.:yuck:

I think i may have run all im going to on this one, but you never know with combos this good, i may get drawn back to it later in the week.

Usually just before deadline, where i'll spend an hour or so trying, and failing, to get a better time.

Thanx for all your input Austin, you're fast.
:irked:👍

You're slowly losing your podium position, David :P

Just did a few exploration laps using your suggested 210 gearing and already got the hang of it a bit:

23.514
52.655

I lost a lot in the last sector as I wanted to bring these splits home. Will be aiming for a low 52 T2, maybe even an high 51, later this week since I have some more time to relax these days :dopey:

@ Austin: that's some nice splits you have there :sly: Will be interesting to see what's still left for you...

Killer combo, Erik 👍

Darn, you just had to come this week, didn't you? Too bad for us.

Those are a few exploration laps? Yeah right. I guess that's why you're Hugo Boss. Even with my currently faster second sector, no way in hell will I match that T1. Nice job. 👍 How do you keep the rear from bashing itself into the wall in the first left-right? That must be where I'm losing most of that time. Not much left for me unless I can match that 52.7 from earlier this week (or better it) with another brilliant final sector like I had with my slower splits. And believe me, the chances of that are pretty low.

I ran a few on this one yesterday and just got around to double checking my replay and pulling the splits from it.

24.886
56.539

It's slow, but those pesky walls sure are tough to avoid. I like running this track and the car seems to be a good match. Just really tough staying off those walls. :scared:

I should have time for at least one more session, will see if I can get a better one that is also clean.

Kevin

Ran again, with a lot of frustration over a 23.5 and several .6 and .7s for T1 ruined by sailing into the wall on the jump, and got some sort of miracle second sector on this lap (yet lost .5 in the final sector :banghead:).

23.883/52.206

If everything came together absolutely perfectly, I would be one second faster at the finish. But as it is, I doubt I'll be beating that lap without a ton of luck and effort.

You can all get back in your spaceships....

But Hugo, you can wait till after the 4th of May :sly:

I'll accept last place this week.

At least Ron isnt running.... yet....

:irked:👍

Nope! I wont be running this one :guilty: I have neither the patience nor the inclination to start threading the needle so late in the week ;) I also have a few PC builds to do! so my time is pretty much limited ... also I suck at GT3 .. sorry! GT4 now :dopey: 👍

Good luck to all you guys running and if I can find time for the Finale? ... I will pop my head in :)
Have fun!
Ron.

I ran some last night and got down to 53.8 but touched the wall near the end, I'll get something clean today(I hope :scared:)

UPDATE: Hugo, Kevin, and Austin 👍

I ran stock gearing first, now I am running 210. great fun surrounded by walls.

25.202 / 55.543
24.940 / 55.195

I had time for one more run at this while GT5P uploaded.

Submitting now, with -

24.624
55.512

It was fun, Erik, but would it have killed you to let us have the RM's on this week. :sly:

Kevin

I'm submitting, with a time that could have been improved plenty, but I didn't have the skill or patience. We'll see what Hugo comes up with...

This is my first post here for the week and I know that is shunned upon, but I didn't really have much to say, time wise.
This track is a bit too tough on the shoulder as its not realy ready for sawing at the wheel. So it was not till yesterday that I had some clean laps.
Went back today and beat those times by a couple seconds.
Time will be submitted with these splits.

25.848
57.366

Great improvements, Austin 👍 Unlucky for you I managed to improve my time as well...

22.994
51.700

Overall there might be over 8 tenths left on this combo, but that's always the case on Citta :D My 2nd sector was a bit too cautious after I noticed my T1 :nervous: , but in the end I'm content with this lap.

It was a good one, Erik! Great fun

How do you keep the rear from bashing itself into the wall in the first left-right?

Sorry for not noticing earlier... It's just brake and throttle control. I try to feel what the car likes best. I brake late, get a late apex and try to be as much to the left as possible before going into the righthander. This way you can carry more speed downwards the hairpin. I take both corners in 4th gear.
