Hugo Boss's round 5 time is 1'07.422, I put his place right but cut the wrong time in :dopey:

I juggled a few tracks around my head untill I stuck with this one, should be a challange ;)

cool... I'm setting up the combo. got time for a 4 lapper?

32.400
32.201

Like the track, also 'cos it's seldomly being used in any combo.
About the car ... boy I wish it would be in GT mode so we could smoothen out the springs a bit. This is all about weight distribution and its moving around the car´s corners. So far only could come up with a meager 34,505 but that included some 2wheel grassy excursions :)
Quite a challenge to master this car but will get to it hopefully 👍

ok... i use 290 gearing so far, cos i tried 300 but it wasnt quite topping out.
However, im not sure if im faster with 290, or 300, so find out for yourselves...👍

I think (i said think) that ragging the car for all its worth in each gear, is giving me better acceleration, as it appears to be the best way to get to 160mph for the start/finish line.

However, changing to 4th early out of the spoon curve gives me better traction, and a smoother exit, but a slower speed by the time i reach the line.

I can see 30 seconds is easily possible for a T1, but it requires getting the 130R right, then by getting the braking point right for the first right and then getting through both tightie righties without breaking traction at all.
Im still not 100% on how to tackle the 4th gear right, and the 3rd gear right before T1 either, as there are a few methods, and ive only done 8 laps.

Still, its a great combo, and i will be drawn to it all week i think.
Its such a short time between "aaarrrrrgh i fell off again!!" and "cool, its a new lap" that i know i will run this a bit more than usual.

T1: 32.048

Good luck all.

:irked:👍

Definitely going to try this one tonight. I love the S4, but my abilities on Suzuka West are severely lacking. I suppose this is an opportunity to learn it! I'm sure this will be just as fun as the others.

EDIT: This one's hard! :scared: It's a really difficult balance between pushing too hard and either going off or scrubbing off speed and not pushing hard enough and suddenly you find yourself squinting to see the ghost in the distance in front of you. I'm happy with my T1 for now, although the back half wasn't too great.

31.476

Having a good time with this one.

Made the mistake yesterday using +20 power, opps.

Chased that ghost down in the first couple laps of todays session.

First split.

01GTP 33.045

I don't think I have ever run this track before. My comment in the week 4 thread has based on thinking we were running Montegi West, but I got clued in when VEXD mentioned spoon, and 130R. :dopey:

And I have only TRIED to drive this car. This thing is a rocket ship, especially with the extra power.

So this one is not a lot different than the current week's WRS. Keeping the car on the track seems to be my biggest struggle. After running for about a half hour, I have a lap and split that I am satisfied with, for now.

32.577

The temptatin to hit the reset button is strong with this one a little too often. If you miss 130R or the entrance into the first right, the lap is out the window. I am having the most trouble with the first corner combo, since that's the only part of the track that I have not run before.

Will make it back here, but off to more important ventures, namely GT5P. :)

Started the leaderboard 👍 I'll peel myself away from gt5p and get a lap in soon.

Just had a session before going to bed. Hope I can still sleep, as this combo is quite a blast again

T1: 31.267

I'm running 290 gearing as well 👍

I'm submitting. Not as wonderful as the last couple; just a little too frustrating with such an unstable car. Have fun, the rest of you.

I managed to make an improvement to my split and at the line. Good thing this was not a multilap race. Don't think I could have stayed on for more than 2 laps in a row.

Split from my sub is - 32.241

Good luck to all for this week and the final series results.

Kevin

Submitting too ... spent not quite as much time in this great car as I hoped. Split was 33.990. Erik, as far as I'm concerned you're welcome to come up with ATR3 and rather sooner than later 👍

Wow. :dopey: Coming back to this one after a week with the Prologue was pretty tough. :scared:

Best split also gave the best lap.

32.412

Same figures as Kevin. :sly: Just not in the right order. :ouch:
Hope we won't get too many racers between us. :nervous:

Time submitted.

It might take me longer then usual to get the results up this time, I'm working out of town today and may get in late. I'll do my best.

Updating now 👍

Take your time, Erik. We'll see the results appear when you've got them sorted!

Didn't have time to try again, so I submitted my lap from two days ago.

Ran this yesterday and earlier but I couldn't improve my time, then I improved my time during the last session that just ended.

I think its the pain killing drugs. Therapy has been painful lately and the discomfort last most of 24hrs.
As they say, "No pain, no gain".

The sub'd lap has a new t time.

32.252

This time is not followed by a good second sector, but it beat my old ghost.

Erik, Thanks for the series, it sure was fun and just short enough to keep up with.

Well im gutted.

I had one of those magic laps last night.

Got round to T1 at 31.4xx smiling my head off...
Came round to the hairpin, and scandinavian-flicked her into the turn with perfection like i'd never managed before.
She hugged the inside kerb all the way round, i was just buzzing...
Got up the hill towards spoon, the ghost behind me had all but disappeared.
Stopped checking where the ghost was, missed my braking point for the spoon curve, and fell off. :ouch:

I'll have to submit what i got before, because i havent had time to run it since, and ive got cupboards to build tonight (lucky me), so it loox like im off the podium again.

Ah well, at least Ron didnt submit. :dopey:

Good luck everyone, and roll on the next ATR! Ive loved this series.

Hugo, see you next week.

:scared:👍

I made it back in plenty of time, so the spread is up.

Congrats to Hugo, the Boss strikes again, Austin, and VEXD 👍

Congrats to VEXD for the overall win 👍 well done indeed. Niels you grabed a box, nice way to end gt4 :) EDK came real close and I can see great strides in the times.

Thanks to all who ran, and especially those who stuck em all out  I had much fun racing with you all and thanks for all the props. I'm sure I'll run another series sometime down the road but for now I'm on gt5p for a bit.

Replays and vids of any weeks runs can go here so we can recap the month. I'll post a batch of mine in the next day or so...

Erik

I should get my Maxdrive tomorrow (finally) so I'll happily post all three runs. 👍

Congrats to all of you for giving this a good run. I know I had a hard time keeping it on the black stuff. And especially to VEXD for doing all the races well and taking the championship.

Erik, I think you've gotten Hugo's time wrong. Right now it's the same as VEXD's, and I sure didn't beat "the Boss".

Erik, I think you've gotten Hugo's time wrong.

Thanks for catching that, I'm prone to silly mistakes now and again :dunce:. Sorry Hugo, if you'd like I can recreate the spread sheet image but it's a pain

Congrats to Hugo, Austin and Vexd for this weeks podiums. Also congrats to the overall win to Vexd and the silver to Erik.

Thanks for yet another great organized series Erik. 👍

And thanks to everybody for making it to the end and making it worth to race here.

I should get my Maxdrive tomorrow (finally) so I'll happily post all three runs.

@Austin. Respect. 👍 The way you have handled this is very professional. :)

I won!!!!

Woohooooooooo :D

I know it was only consistency that did it, and not necessarily results.
Thank god for GT5P grabbing everyone's attention :sly:
Still, it feels good to win something that Hugo tool part in (just kidding Hugo) and i want to congratulate Arora for creating one of the best series ive run for a while.

As i said to you in pm Arora, the combo's were always a good selection of grip to circuit layout, with some seriously tricky bits in each week. 👍

Well done to everyone who entered, and to the guys i just soaked in Champagne for this week 👍

I want more! When's the next one??!!?

ATR3 please!

Looking forward to seeing it turn up in short race series, after the novelty of 10 Prologue trax have worn off :sly:

Is there anyone who can convert max files to youtube vids in here? i know Sphinx knows how to.
It would be good to see vids of each week (seeing as there are only 5) to see the ATR 2 in all its glory.

Leave that with you.

And thanx for the props guys.

VEXD

:mischievous:👍

Congrats to David, Erik and Niels for scoring the series podiums. Well deserved, guys

I had great fun, even though I only took part in 3 rounds... I'm starting to play less and less these days, but luckily there's another LAN next week. Cya then, David ;)

Erik, thanks for the series. You brought us 5 entertaining combo's and also looking of the amount of drivers that took part, I can only say ATR II was a great succes 👍

Congrats to this week's tops. Great run by Hugo.

And congrats to VEXD, arora and Niels for the series podiums, well deserved guys. 👍 👍

Niels, I tried to catch you after a crappy week one showing by me, but alas, it was not meant to be. But some nice, tight racing between the 2 of us and I had a lot of fun. :)

Erik, I'm sure it's hard work putting on simething like this and putting up with all of us crazies.

But I am with the rest of these guys, we need an ATR 3 sooner rather than later!

💡 Might have to figure out some way to incorporate GT5P?

Anyhow, thanks for 5 really fun and memorable combos. Your car, track and tire selections showed careful consideration and testing.

I will get all 5 of my replays on here sometime this weekend.

Kevin

Apologies for the thread revival, but I'd like to remove, to some extent, the uncertainty surrounding the validity of my times...

Well, it's more than a bit late, and not actually what was requested (a Max replay), but it's the best I can do. :dopey: What I'm talking about are the replays of my three races, which are videos taken with a digital camera (apologies for the really bad quality). I realize that the one on Citta Di Aria in particular is impossible to verify as clean with just a video, but these do at least show that I actually got the times I claimed, for all you skeptics out there. In fact, nobody else seems to have actually gotten around to attaching their Max Drive replays, so I guess it's safe to say that I've done better with the replay submissions (although I think they were always unofficial anyway) than everyone else. ;)

ATR Race 3
ATR Race 4: It's obviously hair-raisingly close in a number of places, but I can assure you that I checked extremely thoroughly in both the analyzer and Photomode and found no wall contacts at all.

An old thread indeed but cool of you to put up some vids anywho....

If you continue on racing into gt5 you won't need to worrie about max drive varification as the ps will grab and transfer files for you right off ;)

In fact, nobody else seems to have actually gotten around to attaching their Max Drive replays,

Wrong. I (voluntarily) submitted a MAX replay for the only race I was performing good in. (race 2)

so I guess it's safe to say that I've done better with the replay submissions than everyone else. ;)

Wrong again. You did far worse then anybody else. Only your times was questioned and only your replays was requested. And yet it took you 6 month to react.

6 post up and 6 month ago, I expressed my respect for the professional way you'd handled the whole matter. Obviously that respect vanished 5½ month ago.

I'm sorry, Neils. I've explained in other threads why I couldn't get a Max Drive, and now that there's no more GT4 WRS and little interest in replay-required competitions, I'm not going to get one. It took me so long to react to this because I only fairly recently realized I could take video (which I know is insufficient in your eyes) and only just remembered about this series.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding about the replays. I suppose this is the WRS clause "any submitted time is subject to a time verification request," but the rules about replays were so unclear in this series (sorry, arora) that I assumed it was friendlier and more trust-based than the WRS. Obviously, I was wrong, and I see that now. I know I messed up, but this series is long past, and I'd frankly prefer not to have yet another of these discussions.

I'll let the videos sit there. Anyone who takes that to mean I'm believable, fine. Anyone who takes the extended gap to mean I'm not trustworthy, fine. Again, I know they aren't Max replays, so although they're certainly not enough for verification in one of these competitions, they do satisfy the objective I originally had in mind when I posted them, which was to prove I wasn't just popping in here and spitting out impressive-looking but made-up numbers for split and lap times.

The only rule I posted was to "keep your best lap replay in case you need it" The series was ment to be friendly and trust-based. I did not expect to see a really fast driver show up that was not replay supported, in fact I'm pretty sure everyone else who ran this series does/did own a max drive.

Like I said before it's not gonna be a problem for you anymore, if you continue racing and wan't to compete with the tops it's gonna be on a ps3, and there is no way around submitting replays with that platform.
