Ok - Now that I have done afew of these races I have adjusted the starts times.

Race1 - Fuji 700pp 10laps - Ferrari 599 @ 10.00pm(NZ) 7.00pm(AU)?! - will deal with the punters AU/NZ style.

Race2 - Suzuka 550pp 10laps - Suzuki Swift @ 10.30pm (NZ) 7.30pm(AU)

Race3 - Eiger 600pp 10laps - anything you can make go fast! @ 11.50pm(NZ)7.50pm(AU)

Race4 - Fuji 700pp 10laps - RX7(fully pimped out!) @ 11.15pm(NZ)8.15pm(AU)

Race5 - Fuji 700pp 10laps - anything you can make go fast!. @ 11.45pm(NZ)8.45pm(AU)

Thanks to Lion Face,Toivonen,AusNicko & Vrrm for the competition last night.....let me know if you want to change the starts to get away from the general riff raff(10laps is usually more than enough to sort the men from the boys)

*Thanks for the heads up on the RX7 in "screamer" mode Mike...good choice!

Was good racing last night particularly enjoyed enjoyed multi lap close tussle with Nicko in 1st race. Just too good for me in the end.

And the RX7 race was a hoot, will look forward to a fuller field in those things in coming weeks, worth it for that race alone, will be great fun.

Many thanks Wayne for organising this month's events.

Although the delay in the release of GT5 is a disappointment, its not the reason I've stepped back from GT5P.
I recently got Supercar Challenge and NFS-Shift. And although SCC isn't really much cop, NFS-S isn't half bad - the physics are closer to GT5P, and I'm loving The 'ring again, now in 720p.
The update last week of GT5P online events was a letdown for me too, although I'm sure ride-on mowers on any old goat track would be worthwhile with the SAR/MNR fellas.
But primarily, its The Nurburgring on NFS-S... just a blast!
If you've not got NFS yet, I'd give it my recommendation. No, its not GT5, but its a decent filler until March arrives. A reasonable selection of cars (with Porsche, no Ferrari), and a few decent tracks including the likes of Road America, Willow Springs, Spa, Nurburgring etc.

Yeh, well if NFS_S offered ride on mowers at the Ring....... maybe.

For the moment the events Wayne put together for this month are a lot of fun. The RX7 at full tune on Fuji is a hoot.

After a Friday night race session with some of the SCR lads i now have a new favorite car - BMW M3 on S3's(thankyou Zed).

I will try and make it to tomorrow's racing as well. :D I may only make the first 3 races as I start school again on Monday.

Been waaaaaay too long since i last hit the track. Like the rest of you the news of the pushed back release date for GT5 was a big dissapointment. GT5:P was fun at the start, but its sadly lacking after all this time.

Been doing some casual PC racing, and also been enjoying some Forza with the new wheel i got the other day. Forza3 is out soon and it will be getting a good workout for the next few months while i wait for GT5. Come on PD, give us a game that we can get everyone back on track again.

Hope to see you blokes out on track sooner rather than later đź‘Ť

There was some good racing tonight, although not many people on track. Just Toivonen, Tizzla, Vrrm and myself.
I wasn't in the first race and the second race at Suz in the Swift's Toiv owned everyone.:D:tup:
The third race Vrrm was missing, Toiv and Tizz opted for the Evo 9 and I went the Evo X. I have been doing some laps for the Eiger FWD online TT, which helped a little with maintaining focus. I got my quickest lap of 1'08.444 on the 9th lap. Then came the Screaming RX-7's at Fuji, I got a bad start but kept close enough to reel the gap in with the aid of slip. But ended up over correcting at T1 on the 9th lap and so ended my race.
The M3s at Fuji was more or less just for fun, with Tizz taking full advantage of the M3's 'slippery S3' configuration.
I am trying to get a little interest raised in the Eiger online TT, there is only 2 Aussie's and 0 Kiwi's....so if you want to give it a crack that would be cool. The Mazda Atenza is a great car.
Thanks for the races fella's.;)đź‘Ť

Rusty apols for the bump in the RX7's 2nd last crn.

Sorry I missed Eiger race, was looking forward to it, had a network dc.

At your suggestion gave the Eiger TT a few laps last night. Fun challenge. To find anymore speed I reckon I'd have to mess around with tuning.

Sorry, mate, not tonight... and after trying iRacing yesterday at a buddy's house, I think GT's light may be fading for good as far as I'm concerned :(

Yeah, sorry, I won't be there tonight. GT5 will have to be good to make me come back as regularly as I was before. GT5:P for me at the moment just hasn't got me hooked at all since playing rFactor.

I won't be there tonight guys. Will probably be having a go at WRS 50 or something else. Just don't really feel like online racing at the moment.

I'll be there tonight.

Sigh...........

So what's good about iRacing?

Sigh...........

So what's so good about iRacing?

From what I've seen:

- Professional, almost contact free racing
- Well organised championships
- Driver ratings
- Huge database of stats for every race and championship ever run
- Driving physics
- Laser scanned tracks
- Growing list of cars including NASCAR, Indycar, Daytona Prototypes, Sports cars, V8 supercars next year....

Bought a 3 month membership when it was on sale a little while ago. It's certainly a great game & coming from GT, the difference in driving standards is huge. However its very full on, something that you have to stick with for a long time, not really hop in for a race here and there for some potential bash and crash like GT. The price will drive people away too. I think it's a massive rip off, a yearly subscription will cost you $156USD, which gives you the base game (3 cars, 7 tracks) then each additional car/track you want, it'll cost you $15-30. I have no idea why it costs that much but it quickly becomes an expensive hobby

So what's good about iRacing?
Blair has pretty much covered the basics... but there's more, a lot more. For a taster, throw an eye over some of the testimonials... from people like Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Justin Wilson, and Marcos Ambrose - these are some of people you can strive to race. In the last few weeks, apparently, Shane van Gisbergen has joined... from scratch, as a rookie, like everybody else... i.e. if you joined tomorrow, you could race 'The Gis' between dinner and NCIS

No wrrys Vrrm, it was nice to have a few races with you mate.:)
I do agree that the Eiger TT leaves alot of pace to be gained by a good setup.
I missed the races tonight, but I'll be there next week. Long live MNR!:lol:đź‘Ť

Thanks for the info on iRacing, sounds promising.

A few hundred US $'s a year makes for a very cheap hobby, the cost of a pc and web (but we all have those now anyway) have to be included, but still very cheap.

I go fishing, but only in warm climates (hence everyone wants to come), I figure it costs me upwards of $500 a fish and I'm going to buy a boat next year. Lol, online racing saves me heaps of dough.

I like the idea of a game that one needs to perservere with. I've been playing GT5P pretty well exclusively since last century. And Suzuka and Fuji were easily my least fav tracks in GT4, yet I reckon I've been round both 10K plus times since early last year.

Maybe iRacing is worth a thought, but as we now have a timeline for GT5 (despite its disappointments) I reckon I'll hang out with the other diehards in MNR until the release date, and then if it's not up to scratch........

On the other hand of the majority of TORC guys drift towards iRacing I reckon I'll take it on.

Keep me posted.

Till then guys I'll look forward to seeing you back in MNR when the mood takes hold.

It would seem that my PS3 has decided for me....'Yellow light of death:ouch:

Going to take it back to the guy who "fixed it"....so will see you fine gentlemen another day.

I suppose we won't see you for MNR then mate, I hope they get it fixed for you.;)
Take it easy Joe,
Rusty*

Just cause the PS3 is broke don't go thinking i'm getting soft.....the PS2 is now in full effect with GT4 getting some well deserved attention.
Forgot there were more than just 5 tracks!!

Damn those flaky original ps3's. Mine tanked and took a week or more to repair and I didn't trust it thereafter.

I bought a new slim version a month or two ago when they came out and like it mucho more. Still trust only goes so far, I have attached a portable hard drive and do backup both the game and the system from time to time.

I've got computers (servers) that run continually year in year out with never a problem. Why the ps3 can't do the same is beyond me.

Has anyone tried the G27 wheel yet?
