Hi all im real sorry about that my internet has dropped out i'll try and get it fixed for the next round at Leman on the 18th sorry again everyone I hope I haven't ruined everyone else's race

Your not the only one who had to abandon the race :(. Sorry guys I had to leave as well. @nosoks did I cause you rear end damage? Went skidding round the corner first lap and I had front and rear end. I lost traction with my tyres at that point. Me and Ascari have a love hate relationship lol. See you at the next round la Sarthe.

nah i dont think mine had an effect from yours. i forgot to clear cache so that might have done it. In the end it was pretty dissapointing, finally had a good qualifying and then made the mistake on lap one which triggered everything. I tried to rejoin and stay to the inside instead of cutting across everyone and got clobbered. Sorry to anyone who got damage it was all my fault from that simple mistake.

@Cobra_GT500 It was weird, I felt a bump at the rear then had FRONT damage, I had thought it was maybe a lag thing. I know I was on the brakes hard cuz stuff was happening ahead
No prob my end.. look forward to the Sarthe chase in a couple of weeks

Well done again Lion

Track limits, 2 wheels must be kept inside the white lines or on the rumble strips unless circumstances require you to do otherwise, Green track paint is included, keep it clean and have fun!

I'm going to do some testing tonight at Le Mans and Motegi if anyone wants to join in, send a friend request through to join. :)

Can I request a change from the Audi to the Merc SLS? I did some testing last night and the although i found the Audi was quicker at some tracks and the Merc was faster at others, I felt I could drive around at the same pace lap after lap in the Merc without losing control of the car

Yeah I even tried the gt-r and corvette too. The gt-r felt woeful and I was off the pace. The corvette was a couple tenths quicker around Madrid but not around Le Mans and it was hard to handle

yes you can change, I have sone setups that work reasonably well for most of the cars, I can send them to you if you like,

Hay Dave the 2013 layout is a great track but it's very forgiving when it comes to drivers who can't keep it on the black stuff an it's very easy for peoples who want to get a faster lap time not only in the race but also when it comes to qualifying something we can not police by replays
I think 2005 layout will be a better choice to stop these shortcuts temptation an keeping it fair and honest an will sort out the men from the boys
As well when it comes to qualifying a lap takes around 4 minutes give or take just to do a lap (I'm not giving away my lap times just yet) anyway with are 10 minutes qualifying session including is a out lap so that will make it a one lap qualifier so maybe we should up the time to 12 16 or even 20 minutes or start qualifying for the final corner eliminating the out lap personally I like starting from pit lane.

these are only suggestion the final call is yours mate

I understand mate, I will have a look into it, I know the '05 layout has the bunkers right up to the rumble strips, the main reason for going with the '13 layout was to be able to shortcut the chicane to start the race almost immediately, maybe turning penalties on to light?

I'm in favour of 05 layout for the same reasons as Greasy. NOT cutting that first chicane should slow and bunch everyone for a tidy start if we're all careful. The decision of course is yours Dave

I agree guys, we could always do that or start the race further down the road say leading up to tetre rouge,

My main concern is that the starting point is fair for everyone without causing havoc in the first turn or having a pole lap being worthless by having everyone go careful through the starting turn and jumping the pole winner with draft down the mulsanne,

Ok how about turning around and going back through the Ford Chicane and form up and then start at the proper start line?

yes!

news!

we will do ^^ The Flash's idea, on the 2005 circuit,
however, due to the start line being so close to the final chicane we will move the acceleration zone to the very front of the grid until pitlane exit,

So we are here today at Ascari racing resort near Ronda in Spain for the 3rd round of the Australian GT series.
After a very tough qualifying with Greasy taking the pole from Flash with Lion seating nicely in 3rd an with newcomer Enforcer taking the back of the grid who lag just before take off resulting in Moto taking damage

AscariFullTrack3_zpsdf682090.jpg
AscariFullTrack18_zpsd324287a.jpg

As Greasy gets away follow closely by Flash It'z loses control of he's Audi an with no brakes an no steering couldn't pull it up in time coming into copse giving Nos a bit of a bump in he's new Ford GT resorting in both drivers having damage for the incident
AscariFullTrack15_zps4ca7883f.jpg
AscariFullTrack16_zpsb1c0c68a.jpg

As Moto got around the previous corner incident suffering from Enforcer lag punt he puts it in to the wall at Bathurst corner right in front of It'z pushing both drivers to the back of the pack an now far behind
AscariFullTrack5_zpsebbddf5b.jpg

With Greasy an Flash fighting it out for first place an Lion an Dave doing the same for 3rd these four drivers were putting some good lap times down and keeping it interesting up front until Dave lost he's Audi coming out of the kink pushing him far back behind the leaders as Enforcer locks up all four coming into copse still suffering from he's earlier incident
AscariFullTrack6_zpsb91ca68c.jpg

AscariFullTrack7_zpsa5ce8d7a.jpg
AscariFullTrack8_zps4e47b3cf.jpg

As Moto an Nos was suffering from their first lap incident diving into pits for some desperate repairs an continuing their fight until Nos got by Moto an showing that the Ford GT can be a intender under the new racing regulations as Dave try's to get he's car back up to speed

AscariFullTrack14_zps9e8a22b2.jpg
AscariFullTrack10_zps907d4aa6.jpg

All was looking good for Greasy at this time in the race increasing the gap over Flash an Lion until he made a slight mistake into the first chicane with the only damage being done was to he's confidence an the gap he made to Flash
AscariFullTrack19_zps18312555.jpg
AscariFullTrack13_zpse0954667.jpg

With Flash now back on Greasy's tail Greasy was looking to get things back to how they were an with no help from flash until he out brake himself into Hill corner allowing Lion to give chase to Greasy now without much success
AscariFullTrack20_zpsdabbd9c6.jpg

AscariFullTrack21_zps7a24e248.jpg

With Moto having engine trouble an tire trouble he retire he's merc an ended up calling it a day hopefully he will have better luck next week at Le Mans
AscariFullTrack22_zpse77e6268.jpg

As Flash got by Lion as Lion goes in for early pit stop on lap 10 Flash needed to wait to lap 16 to take the lead from Greasy as he goes in to pits while Dave for a split second forgetting that he's Audi is no longer AWD putting him back insight of Nos
AscariFullTrack23_zpsfdbc72b6.jpg

AscariFullTrack24_zpsfd89cf8b.jpg

AscariFullTrack25_zpse9aae564.jpg

Sadly after It'z first lap disaster it didn't take long to the gremlins of GT6 started taking they victims an that was the end of It'z race an Enforcer was soon to follow cutting are best line up so far down to 5 drivers
AscariFullTrack37_zps84de9945.jpg

AscariFullTrack38_zps3639deec.jpg

Flash unexpectedly running it wide into Rafael chicanes letting Lion to get by putting him down to 3rd as he try to get going again only to lose it ones more putting him to far back to take the fight to Lion for the rest of the race
AscariFullTrack26_zpsa52c2d91.jpg

AscariFullTrack28_zps9dd003a5.jpg

As Lion an Greasy exchange positions as each of them pitted for fresh ties trying to get a advantage over each other in lap times Dave an Nos was doing the same making the race pretty much coming down to a strategy an not a bumper to bumper fight for position
AscariFullTrack29_zps7ddb62d9.jpg

AscariFullTrack30_zpsf84c67aa.jpg

AscariFullTrack31_zps52c2d055.jpg
AscariFullTrack33_zps67ab3e41.jpg
Greasy pitted 12 seconds in front of Lion giving Lion a 10 seconds lead over Greasy with 10 minutes to go as Greasy was close the gap to Lion getting right on he's rear bumper until Greasy found the wall coming into Screw corner with 3 minutes left to go giving Lion no challenge for the lead
AscariFullTrack34_zps1de9579b.jpg

AscariFullTrack35_zpsdceca861.jpg

As Lion goes over the line taking the win from Greasy who was 8 seconds behind an Flash was sitting comfortable in 3rd 34 seconds off the race winner
AscariFullTrack36_zps61e6b8bd.jpg

Congratulations to Lion for a good win an having a bit of luck on your side
Well done to Greasy for posting the fastest time at 1:53.345
And good work to all who attended making a fun enjoying race for most drivers
Bad luck to those Drivers who got DC and retired

Why do rolling start at all?

Before the pit stop bug change, sure we had to pit before the race started. Now we don't have the bug, we have no need for a rolling start. I'm not bothered, just thought I'd throw that out there.

Also, I don't think it matter where you start the race at Le Man, you can't pull out that much of a gap in the first sector to not be drafted down the long straights no matter your starting position.

@Lion-Face
rolling starts are part of GT racing. An aspect of the sport that I like, and from a safety issue regarding black screens it is better to have, If everyone moves off in an orderly manner it prevents that car from being involved in a crash, and also allows that person to still be involved in the race once they have loaded and not be penalized as much if not at all from something out of their hands,

I will be tagging along, but you'll need to have the full map on to know where I am until you see me again near the end

So who's coming tomorrow night? @Heathenpride will you be gracing us with your presence?

I should be there but haven't had much time to practice le man with e3 being on in the last few days and been pleting other games. Tonight ill have a play around on le man and should be ready for the race. This time I won't go in the first corner aggressively. I went running into the wall last time that happened :P.
