While we're on the topic of Fords...

I'm quite a fan of the Panther cars, specifically the last-gen Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis, although the Ford/Mercury/Lincoln trio of the eighties is quite desirable, as is the Mercury Marauder. The nineties barges don't quite do it for me. The thing I like about the Panther trio is that they're rather versatile. A regular Crown Vic offers the most normal experience of the three, or you can opt for an ex-police interceptor and have something of a rough muscle sedan (relatively) to beat on. A Grand Marquis is geared towards cruising, with longer gears and plush interior accouterments. Comparing the Marauder to the CVPI is the same as comparing the Grand Marquis to the Crown Vic: the Merc is more hushed, more refined, plusher. The Marauder does offer a bit of a performance advantage, though. I do like the Town Cars, although the limo-biz stigma makes them slightly less appealing to me; if it's my personal car, I want it to appear as such.

Ideally, I would have two Panthers: a stock Grand Marquis for the relaxed daily driving, and a modified CVPI for being loud and enjoying the benefits of everyone else clearing the left lane for you on the highway. The ability to beat on it would allow for less stress when combating traffic in the city. If I had to choose just one, though, and if it were my only car, I'd go for the surprisingly rare Crown Victoria LX Sport. Appearing relatively similar to the regular Crown Vic, the LX Sport offered some minor performance, suspension and interior enhancements over the base boat. Unfortunately, these are exceedingly rare. Total production from '01-'08 was 18,329, or ~2,250 per year. For comparison, the Ford GT sold just over 2000 units each year for both years of its production.

It is LOUD. There is no sound insulation to block wind noise.
That's strange, I never recall hearing wind noise whenever I drove my mother's 2012 Fusion places.
My family and I also have been on long trips with this car, it hasn't made us uncomfortable at all.

I kind of like the Del Sol (Or Del Soak, as my dad calls them), I don't really know why, but when I saw a green one when I was little I fell in love.

I also like the Camry, for no real reason, again.

I'm not much for Del Sols, but I still smile back to when I saw one on the highway several years ago with license plate reading DEL SLOW.

del Slows were always nifty, but they were no X-90.

There was actually one available within my budget (1996, 4WD, every option but a CD player, $3995) when I was putting out feelers in February. And... it was, before I started looking at 4000 pound luxury cars, pretty damn close to the top of my list. It certainly would have been easier to park.

The one that got away...

I don't know why, but I like this thing.

And the Civic, in all of its steel wheels with plastic hubcaps glory.

These things are awesome.

I always thought these were cool.

For some reason the X-90 just reminded me of another small SUV that I absolutely love and if I could find one in good shape for the right price, I'd probably buy:

I almost forgot about this thing. :D

@Doog Nobody should ever be ashamed to like a Panther Ford.

They are quite cools cars, and if you have a black one with black wheels, everyone thinks you're a cop so nobody will drive like an idiot around you.

I have no clue how I feel about them. I think I've only seen one in person, I hadn't seen it before and was dumbfounded.

I like them too. I almost ended up with my great-grandmother's Lincoln Town Car.

Look what I found looking for a first car at my local dealer today...

It's even one of the early models with that badass touchscreen interface :D

My good friend has a red Reatta. It's super unreliable, but the interior is fantastic.
