My b-spec driver just beat both of them gold first try with the 7 on racing mediums. The first race he did no problems but the 2nd one he probably would have won anyways (seeing as he tends to pass someone every one lap or so) but when he was in 4th or 5th EVERYONE ahead of him crashed and span out so he passed them all and stayed in first then on.

Try dropping the top speed down to around 150 to 60 ish .. Grind Bob alittle more on other races to up his class and try again. I did it with the Toyota 7 .. If you buy the 2J gift it yourself but save your game to usb before you buy it, then reload it after you buy and gift it, as you will pay loads of £ for it just to win 1 race.

I won the Toyota 7 race car and I thought that maby my lv 28 B-spec driver would be able to destroy all the oponents, he is allowed Racing Medium which is very good and his car also has a huuuge turbo giving it 917bhp, but he still manages to come near the end of the pack after the first corner :( I managed to do it first time in the Buick, easy, so why cant he seem to do it? sad times

Agreed with some above post. I beat both with the 7 RC. On monaco you got to be careful about the overtake command anywhere near the chicane coming out the tunnel. If he tries to outbrake the other AI he will crash into the guardrail EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME!!! I lost a couple times because of that. The best place to hit the overtake command is right before crossing the finish line then Bob will outbrake them to the top hill corner.

Also I lowered trans to 160mph, slammed ride height to -10/-10 and changed the decel LSD to 7. Bob easily won both but I had to coach him the whole race and he is a level 34 right now.

It seems my Bob gets a HORRIBLE start every race going from 7th to 11th. It helps if you Paceup him right before the start. This is really annoying at monaco.

The first event was easy peasy, bob even lapped the corvette z06 in lap 10!

I think the problem is that the Toyota 7 has a terrible launch speed. At the start of the race it just sits there and get passed by every car. It's not just my bob, but all the other 7's in the race (mostly 1 or 2). Maybe you guys managed it with the 7 but I think I'm going to wait for another car in the UCD / OCD after all.

Stick with the Toyota 7 and just keep his pace down until the 2nd or 3rd lap. All the AI's will crash and get stuck on corners while looking for position. If you are in 4th or better after lap 3 you can push him to pass when he enters the tunnel and he will always get ahead. Then just keep his pace so he's not crashing into the walls and he will pass at the right time. I won this with a 16sec lead.

I just kept my Bob angry (paced all the way up) the whole race and he passed at least one person each lap on the two straight aways, and I was 4th or so place like you said by the 3rd or 4th lap which is where they all crashed like you said and Bob just drove away.

My bob also doesnt EVER tend to spin out or hit walls or anything when he is paced up all the way which is surprising because my other bob couldnt drive worth **** when he was paced up.

3 places he will pass is the first straight up the hill, through the tunnel and the last little straight before the hairpin right before the finish

My Bob did both races with the Ferrari... BUT, with the STOCK turbo. I was pulling my hair out. Why couldn't Bob beat everyone with that big turbo in it?? Launch speed is better with the small turbo as well as overall acceleration. I ran both races until I found the rev limit and set it up for the Bobs. I can't recall the setting, but with the small turbo and the rev limit right, both races were pretty good. Very little babysitting on Deep Forest, but a lot of babysitting on Cote. Keep at it, you'll get it.:)

But if you look at the other 7 in the race it will leave the line signifigantly faster than your bob driving a 7. I don't know why that is but its really bad on monaco. Paceup before the countdown helps a little.

They launch with TC your bob doesnt he just goes very easy on throttle until he wont tirespin. Im sure if you could somehow get him angry before he launched hed just hit 2nd and spin em all the way like he does when he is drifting but I guess you just gotta live with it.

Right this is the set ups for Monaco for the Toyota 7, again my lvl 21 bob breezed this.

Buy and install Racing Mediums and Lvl 2 Turbo upgrade...not sure how he'll do without the turbo.

Full Downforce

Transmission set to 162mph max

LSD 30/55/30

Suspension

Camber F 1, R 1.5
Toe F -.1, R -.05 (- is a minus)

Height F -22, R -23
Spring F 17.5, R 18
Damper Extension F 7, R 8
Damper Compression F 8, R 8
Anti-Roll F 7, R 7

Brakes F 8, R 8.

Bob, does need to be pushed hard on the first couple of laps. You should be ok once you get the lead. Dont give up if you have a crash. I've just won it again after 2 crashes, 1 at the chicane and 1 at the turn before the S/F straight.

Make sure to overtake the minute you hit the S/F straight, he can and will overtake all the way up to Casino hairpin.

Ease off at the chicane after the tunnel and try to time it for the last corner of the lap before the S/F straight IF he's sitting behind another car.

This works, my level 15 bob did it on this one after the second try. Overtook the lead 2J on lap 6. However would set the gearing a couple of notches higher, he was maxing out on the main straight with the gears set to 162.

Hi guys, I'm brand new to this site, alot of the set-ups posted have been extremely useful throughout B-Spec so far (NASCAR and FGT to name but a few) But the Historic Race Car Cup in Monaco is impossible!

I have a level 21 bob, almost completely cool, I'd say about 90%-95% towards the blue end. Fully Tuned Toyota 7 does not do the trick, no matter how I set it up.

So short of doing that birthday cheat, I reckon my last option is to turn to the people on here and ask, can anyone lend me a 2J for a while so I can get that race out of the way!?

I will literally use it until I've won, then send back immediately (even with fresh oil if you like :D)

Cheers, let me know.

Sam

EDIT: Okay nevermind, I did it with a 2J a friend found for me on UCD. I'd still like to hear stories on how others did this tournament? I don't think the disc would still be intact for me if I hadn't done it by now!

my bobs is level 21 been doing great and i know they aren't good at the Monaco track to start with but im wondering if its the car, in the historic Monaco race even the NPC Toyota 7 does crap, it doesn't get out of corners or off the line well and gets mullered everywhere.

any suggestions in the cars you did it in? i tried setting up the 7, but he's just out-classed.

i have the gt40 but havent tuned it yet just wanted suggestions first.

Thanks

I think you just get lucky eventually - my BoB spent the first 5-6 tries going backwards at the pool on lap1, but once he made it through there without getting wrecked he won it fairly comfortably.

my 7 came in 2nd place on the monaco race, and probably could have taken 1st had the 2J not put him into the wall at the bottom of the track. I was able to gold both races in the 7 in apsec, and usually bob is better than me on the really tight tracks like that.

but he also doesnt take chances like I do either....

have the overtake button always pushed except the s after the tunnel. the secret is to overtake everything before the ferrari and 2j. toyota 7 to be fully tuned. when you are trying to catch a car use the steady mode in order to have the bar in the middle. after you will pass every one just keep it again in the middle or less

My Hot Bob was much faster than my Cool Bob, even though he is 3 levels lower in skill. I also lowered the top speed as much as I could in favor of acceleration, still Silver is the best I could do, but I will keep trying because I believe the price car is really worth it ( Alfa Romeo ? ).

I tried it 20+ times with the Toyota 7, the best I could get was 2nd, I used several different setups from this forum and others and still no luck, it really started to get on my nerves. I had golded everything else up to the Endurance races which I hadnt yet started.

Thankfully a friend of mine found a 2J in his used car dealership and bought it. I borrowed it, and almost lapped people without and babysitting or any commands after the 2nd lap when he took 1st and ran away with it =].

I just got a 2J off a friend of mine and absolutely smashed it, finished in 1st right behind last place, would have lapped several people if the race was 9 laps.

The car you win isn't half bad. It's the '65 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 carrozzata de zagato CN.AR750106. Quite a name haha.

I think that race took more attempts than any other race for me in B-Spec (possibly even more than Daytona trucks). Most of the problems came with him trying to pass in the chicanes and clipping the corner walls.

He finally won it passing the 2J in the chicanes... I was cringing.

the 2J does seem to have a distinct advantage, but having not driven one, not sure what it is. I "should" have one today I hope and will send my bob to the gun fight with a gun this time....

the 2Js advantage comes from those fans at the back of the car creating a ground effect which sucks the car to the track. Perfect for a low speed track like monaco as downforce on wings works better at high speed

Im one race away from getting the Indy 500 which wins a XJ13 which I've heard can and will win the race. I think Bob-o could do it in the 7, he does drive and catch well when he's in auto pilot but he wont overtake at chances I would etc.
