I won on Deep Forest with the Toyota 7 Race Car, but it didn't have good enough acceleration on Cote d'Azur so I couldn't overtake. My only other option was to use the XJ13 which had better acceleration. I only managed to win because the Chaparral 2J kept spinning out, leaving me to fight it out with another XJ13 which I passed on the penultimate lap.

a friend let me borrow his 2j and my driver still couldnt do it in that...even after a few tries...same story in my 7...ill keep trying, but i really wish i could "de-rez" him.....i really dont see whats so hard about "making" room through the chicanes

I got my 2J last night finally, and sent my L31 bob back to win me gold at monaco....and he crushed everyone. the other 2J was ~14 sec behind at the finish. I did ZERO coaching.

I took the 2J around the high speed ring which is usually my track to gauge how fast it is, and the 2J did it in a little over 55 sec, and my best car before was the 905. but I also ran the Sauber last night on it, and it ran a 53 sec lap...wow.

im sure my x2010 or FGT would do it faster....

grind him up in some other races, best mine did was 2nd in momaco at L24 or so. it was the last race to complete the expert (or whichever level its in), so even getting the 2nd place, it finished the level for me.

figured I would come back later and let him run the 7 again, or hold out for a 2J.

After winning the 7, I brought Bob over to the Historic race and with a lot of coaching he won all golds. He passed the 2J on the final lap through the chicanes. I was so proud of him!

Sucess!!

Ok...heres the story...Using the Toyota 7 in the Historc car race...1st attempt at Cote D'Azure failed today...my bob got into 2nd place then smacked a wall to get passed by several cars on the 5th lap...exited, but not before a few choice words and threatening to kill my bob and beat his hands into a pulp with a big bat, not necessarily in that order...nuff said...i left and got in the 7 myself in A spec to see if i could improve the cars handling...it did seem to understeer a bit so i changed the settings to something better...numbers to follow...so i go back to B spec and try again...same track...he seems to be doing better and i am giving a lot of commands to overtake except at the chicane near the waterfront...and he is finally passing...all the way into 1st by the 5th or 6th lap...he then lets the 2J pass him on the 6th lap for no apparent reason...at that point the circle button is looking real good, but i hold off and let him redeem himself before i "De-Rez" him...and he did...he took 1st place 6.5sec ahead of the 2J after i gave him a few commands to pace up and a few more threats to expose his skidmark underwear secret to the whole gaming community...he did go on to Deep Forest and win there too...skids and all...heres the numbers

Aero: Max front and rear
Turbo: Stage 3
Transmission/top speed: 186
LSD: 10, 25, 15

Suspension:
Ride height: -25, -25
Spring rate: 16, 18.5
Dampers E: 8, 7
Dampers C: 8, 7
Anti roll bars: 5, 7
Camber: 3.5, 2.1
Toe angle: 0.0, -.30
Brake: 7, 4

Hope this helps...if not play around with the settings a lil till it works...now im going to see what car ive won!! Yay

Oh, yeah

My bob is a lvl 23..

I figured it out. There is a language barrier between me and my driver. Overtake apparently means "check your opponents brake lights". The signals for working brake lights are: a) tap your opponent in the rear, or b) pull up next to your opponent, wave to let him know that the lights are fine, then slam on your own brakes. I had a long talk with my driver about what overtake actually means and we have an understanding now.

nicely done i just bought a 2j instead :) i took my gt40 round that i won from a gift ticket and it also did better than my toyota 7 just depends if the other 2j gets stuck in traffic or not.

Haha, good one!

Hi! For Deep Forest I used Toyota 7 with few changes to settings and won it easily.
For Cote D'Azure I used Jaguar XJ13 Race Car '66 which you win after completing Indy 500. I've bought High RPM turbo. Without any major changes to suspension I had a lead after 4 laps. It is important that Toyota 7 isn't in front of you in the starting grid, because it has a bad acceleration and will slow you down. If it is, restart race.

LMAO 👍

My top driver is lvl 22 and has the arrow pointing down. I called him in the office and 'made him an offer he couldn't refuse'. Surprisingly he went out there and creamed the competition by over 23 secs!!! (Côte d'Azur)

BTW kr0nika, you saved a life, Bob's life. I was just about to place a bomb under his car... Thank you very much, I don't want to murder him anymore...

He deserves that I put his replay on YT. Thanks to kr0nika. :)

Never have I been swearing as much as for the Historic race (Cote d'Azure).
The b-spec driver is so dang stupid :S
Trying to overtake when there's a wall. NOT overtaking when it's the perfect time.

I also used the XJ13 Race Car with Turbo to win on Cote D'Azur. It has far better acceleration than the Toyota 7, so I was able to pass some of the cars at the first corner. Thankfully the Chaparral 2J that was in 1st place crashed at the chicane after the tunnel, which meant I could pass easily and fight it out with another XJ13 at the front. I managed to pass on the 4th lap, but he was on my tail right to the end.

I had Silver yesterday (not enough for the Alfa-car), so I decided to let the driver do it on its own while I was taking a shower. To my surprise, when I came back, I noticed that he managed to get gold

B-spec works so much better if you don't say anything to the driver :ouch:
I used the Jaguar XJ-13 Race car...

But I'm happy, now I have gold on all Historic challenges :dopey:

I've just managed it in the Toyota 7 with the set up on the previous page. The only thing I did differently was set the brakes to 2/3 so Bob couldn't slow down as much as he wanted to :mischievous:

It took me about 10 goes, very frustrating but the prize car is well worth the effort.

I went with the Toyota 7, too. I didn't change the tuning setup much, but I did gear the car for a top speed of about 150 mph. I mean, the car gets close to that on the main straight, but other than that, the average speed for a lap at Monaco is something like 80-90 mph. It's mostly slow-speed stuff, so gear for acceleration. Also set the toe for turn-in, rather than stability. I think I used +.05, +.20

There was a bit of babysitting, keeping Bob cool, and keeping him from trying to pass at the chicane after the tunnel, and at the bend right before the main straight. Bob was 15th level.

Picking good places to pass was key for me, so starting the pass about a third of the way down the main straight was good (if you were already close to the guy ahead), and if the pass didn't quite stick by the first corner, then immediately doing it again as the track turns up the hill. On the turn before the tunnel, a pass can work IF your car is close to the car ahead, and you have momentum. This would give Bob enough time to pass on the other side of the tunnel, and move into position to take the chicane properly. But if you miss this one, you're plowing into the wall before the chicane, so pull back if there isn't a clear shot at it here.

I tried it 20+ times with the Toyota 7, the best I could get was 2nd, I used several different setups from this forum and others and still no luck, it really started to get on my nerves. I had golded everything else up to the Endurance races which I hadnt yet started.

Thankfully a friend of mine found a 2J in his used car dealership and bought it. I borrowed it, and almost lapped people without and babysitting or any commands after the 2nd lap when he took 1st and ran away with it =].

The computer keeps putting me in the wall like the second to last turn I'm getting pissed:crazy:

Stage2 turbo and max speed 252 IIRC. The lower gears are less prone to cause wheelspin and you begin to accellerate sooner.
LSD was more like 12/30/8 to get more rotation off throttle.
Brakes were set more to the rear and rear suspension was stiffer than the front.

Those LSD settings changed my car totally. Had to struggle before just for a 3rd place. But those settings got me to 2nd right from the start (Y) :)
Edit: My b-spec driver had to struggle, that is :P

How do I get the Chapparal 2J? I have almost $10 million, but I have yet to buy the Formula Gran Turismo, which I will need soon. I am Level 26 in Aspec and Level 19 in Bspec.

Deep forest you will win easily with the toyota 7, but the other race is the most difficult. My bob is now lvl 31 and now he won code d'zur, but i standed the hole race telling him to overpass and run faster....... because he would not win again........... after a lot of trying, he won it kkkk

With Cote D'Azur it's all about where the 2J is. If he's first after the first corner, quit and start again. He needs to be about 4th or 5th so he gets held up. Then when he makes a mistake at the chicane after the tunnel (which he usually does) he'll fall further behind.

I only managed to win with the Toyota 7 when this happened. All the other times the 2J was first from the 1st corner and Bob could never catch him.

I hate to be one of those people that keeps bugging... but I'm bumping this 'cause I didn't see anyone address my question specifically, and I was really hoping to hear some input from someone that might have finished this race in first place, doing it this way; without a multi-million dollar car.

I managed to get 3rd with a fully-modded Countach.

I've gotten to 2nd with a Toyota 7 once I won it in B spec.

Right this is the set ups for Monaco for the Toyota 7, again my lvl 21 bob breezed this.

Buy and install Racing Mediums and Lvl 2 Turbo upgrade...not sure how he'll do without the turbo.

Full Downforce

Transmission set to 162mph max

LSD 30/55/30

Suspension

Camber F 1, R 1.5
Toe F -.1, R -.05 (- is a minus)

Height F -22, R -23
Spring F 17.5, R 18
Damper Extension F 7, R 8
Damper Compression F 8, R 8
Anti-Roll F 7, R 7

Brakes F 8, R 8.

Bob, does need to be pushed hard on the first couple of laps. You should be ok once you get the lead. Dont give up if you have a crash. I've just won it again after 2 crashes, 1 at the chicane and 1 at the turn before the S/F straight.

Make sure to overtake the minute you hit the S/F straight, he can and will overtake all the way up to Casino hairpin.

Ease off at the chicane after the tunnel and try to time it for the last corner of the lap before the S/F straight IF he's sitting behind another car.

racing mediums? best that can be used is sports soft man
*duly noted: i was wrong, and thats why i have been struggling.

with this exact tune and finally switching to racing medium tires... i beat the living hell out of them by a lead of 17.5 seconds. The funny thing is, i managed to win the deep forest race on sports soft (even though it took awhile)

Weird setup for my Toyota 7 Race Car but it worked on B-Spec and 2 more times right after to make sure. But it works well. after bb takes first you need to let him cool down and keep him near the middle of the stress bar. Should be gravy! Goodluck

Downforce: F:60 R:85
Turbo: Mid RPM Range Turbo Kit (Stage 2)
LSD: IT=30 , AS= 55 , BS=30
Transmission: 224mph top speed
Suspension:
Ride height= -30/-30
Spring Rate= 20/20
Dampers ext and comp both= 10/10/
Anti Roll Bars= 7/7
Camber: F= 7.0, R= 0.0
Toe: F= -0.10 / R= 0.15
Brakes: F=9 / R=8

This was the setup I finally used to win Cote. My problem all along...wrong tires. You REALLY need to make sure BOB has Racing Mediums, and spamming Increase Pace in the straightaways helped. Cleared 1st place on Lap 6 and never looked back. Had a level 20 medium attitude Bob.

My L17 just beat it, took first place after the 5th corner on first lap and stayed in lead the whole time. I just kept telling him to speed up until he took first and then told him to maintain speed the rest of the way, I don't see what the fuss is about. I didn't do any tuning whatsoever. Used the 2J
