This is illegal, and how safe could something be that you give up your PSN account?

It's not hacking the game. It simply runs your internet browser automatically. Saving from manually controlling all the inputs to keep the races going.

There would need to be a statement in the EULA that says any automated running of a browser to control the game will not be accepted. It's been over a year since I read through the EULA, but I don't remember seeing anything.

Since you are so sure, you must have read it. Please copy and paste it into a reply here so that we may see it.

Yes it does.

Could it be that I don't have friends to race against? Should I create a couple "fake" accounts?

Yes. If there are no friends to race them your one bob cannot do anything. If you want complete control over credit flow and bspec races then by all means create some extra PSN accounts and get them added.

I have a problem with this.

I downloaded it since the very beginning and had no problems with it whatsoever. But lately -like since 3 months ago- it makes my computer crawl to a halt, specially when reserving drivers.

I've already changed the settings so it only runs on 2 threads, taking 10 seconds to select each driver, but it still slows down my computer as if it was running something incredibly resource exhausting.

I've also cleared the caché in the PS3, in the account in which the b-spec grinder runs (not my main account), defragged my computer and run the grinder when nothing else is running, but it still manages to slow my computer to the point in which, in those 2-3 minutes in which it selects the drivers, nothing can be done with it.

Anyone has a solution for my problem?

The specs of my PC are: HP Compaq DC7900 with a Pentum Dual Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50 GHz, with 1 gb of RAM running Windows XP SP3. It is connected directly to the broadband modem, while the PS3 is connected wirelessly since its at another room in the house.

Thanks in advance.

Update your RAM to atleast 2 gigs and what graphic card do you have and how much RAM does it have?

Cheers!

I have a question for two things:

Firstly, where can you manage how many drivers should race in those remote races because when I try it it will only let 6 drivers race.

Secondly, I have a problem because the buttons are not showing up at all. I can see the flags and the helmets of the drivers in the "manage drivers.." section but nothing else.

Since I'm in a hurry I cannot upload a screen now but I hope someone can help me out based on the information I gave already. If that won't help I will upload a screen later.

Thanks in advance, guys!

Ok. I was already thinking upgrading the RAM anyway.

The computer doesn't have a graphics card because it was originally intended to be used at an office -where my mum works, but it was never assigned to anyone there and it was sold to my mum completely new.

The thing that bothers me is that this is a recent issue. Back when I installed it and until the last months of last year it ran with no problems, using 4 threads and 2 seconds to select the drivers. Now, if I increase the time to select drivers the widget, for some unfanthomable reason, only selects six or seven of the 13 drivers available. The same thing happens if I decrease the treads below three (the current set up at two threads gives me a 80% of 13 drivers being used).

Thanks for your interest in my problem.

Could also be that its old and need to be formated and get a new fresh copy of windows (since computers get so much crap and gets slower over time) Also new RAM wont hurt but if your low on money, get a fresh copy of windows and try to reinstall everything and it should be okay for atleast 6 months if ur lucky. But if you got some more money i suggest u buy a new freshbuilt computer with a graphic card with atleast 512mb RAM on it! :) A good basic computer with no overpower **** costs about 250-400 euro :)

Cheers!

Two of my noobie accounts have been banned for this d: anyone experiencing this ?

Example

Go into account
GT won't load anything and the drivers CR level is "--"
Always get an Error when connecting to anything "Connection error = yadda yadda"

*however main account works swimmingly absolutely no errors

Good thing it was a toss account XD

Will this help get me up to B-spec level 40? It's Taking FOREVER.
Buy your self No
doing 4hr ring races with login bonus of 200% is still quicker. There is no way to insure drivers finish first with remote racing So you earn less XP.

This only pays more Exp If you do it in a syndicate where people are forced to race your drivers or get kicked. This mode relies on people racing your drivers.

If you cheat and use Multi PSN accounts on same PS3 then yes but thats very selfish :sly:

Fastest way to get to b-Spec lvl40 is by repeating the 24hr Nürburgring races. I think you have to repeat it like 12 times. Yea, 12 times!

Sad that you have to "grind" to lvl40, even in the freakin' b-Spec mode. But ey, it's Kaz's game. :)

That would work if he was level 40 already. ;) He may have to rely on doing the 4 hour race, if he then is at least level 32.

Yes, it will. And the quickest way to get there is, as GraphiteGB mentioned, if you join a racing syndicate virtually running non-stop, or if you simply race yourself non-stop. You can get to level 40 with the widget, if done right, in a matter of days. The other advantage of using the widget method is that there is absolutely no requirement with respect to the level you start out at.

And while slightly off-topic, there are alternatives using offline B-Spec.

Automated B-spec with phone

Automate B-Spec with an Arudino Development Board

Which race to set it on depends on a number of things. If you have a Bob that can win any of the seasonals without any input, that would likely be your best option. If you don't, but you do have a X2010 or X2011, irrespective of what everyone else may be saying, you'd want to repeat Tokyo in the Dream Car Championship. The minimum level requirement here is only 24.

But that's just a little off-topic injection if one then really wants to use offline B-Spec. Still, nothing beats the widget, if done right. :)

Guys im having a little bit of an issue with this widget. I added a couple of new friends over the last 2 days and they will not show up in my mamange drivers. I have completely switched off my PS3, i have also gone as far as deleting the B Spec widget but I still can not get them to show up?

1 Its no good just adding friends they actualy need to play gt5 to validate your friend ship with gt5 server.
2 after they have logged in you will likely need to reforce authentication as the cookie and friends data is stored on PC and likely not deleted when you uninstalled ( normal for applications they don't delete preference files only application. )
3 Deleting widget may not be enough to repair Yahoos broken files you may need to remove the yahoo widget OS (the hole reason yonis was looking at web browser extension instead.) then reinstall..

Also happend to me.

🤬 So you're banned from PSN? Because you've used the widget? I'd really like to know on what grounds? Did they tell you which terms and conditions you were in violation of, as I currently fail to see what these could possibly be.

I've downloaded the widget and yahoo gadgets, I am logged on to my GT Home and my ps3 is in server standby. I put all my details correctly into the B Spec Grinder and I have tried Australia and United States it gets stuck at the logging in stage (doesn't even make it halfway) Help!?

Check this post on how to enable debug mode, and then let us know what it says in the debug window.

I have problem with logging in. It wont let me logg in. It says "Logging in" then it loads to the half of the bar then it stops there in the middle of it. What can be the problem?

I have tried two diffirent accounts and i get same problem in both of them.

I got both Yahoo Widgets and B Spec Grinder 2.5.2.

I'm having the same problem since the system update, getting the following in debug mode:

uncaught exception: fetchAsync: no URL specified. Either set one in the URL.location or pass as second parameter.

You'll have to go through the gran-turismo.com website first, as when you attempt to log in, you'll be greeted with new terms of service first. Once you've accepted the new terms, everything should work as normal again.

Right. 👍 There is no reason to ban anyone. All what the widget is doing, is the same what you would do on the GT5 home page manually, with your web browser & your mouse, or on your iPhone. The widget is just doing everything automatically. ;)

They must be blocking us!!! ;''(

Does not have to. Remember there was a 2.04 patch for GT5 2 days ago. And there was a PS firmware update yesterday. Maybe they have changed something on the web site, the links (how it's internal connected), added more tracks and changed the track numbers or what not. ;)

If so, then the OP have to investigate it & change the parameters in the widget (update it). Then it should again run as before.

As stated above, until you do this the widget wont work. 👍

Confirmed. Widget spent all day yesterday in "no man's land". Logged in to PSN website and accepted new TOS agreement and after that widget fired back up and ran all night. Think it works both ways too. If the hosting account has accepted new TOS but the "friend" has not that friend will not make it to the race.
