With the web site being down too and was a drag, with the PS3 hooked up to the only tv in the house, the little lady wasn't too thrilled about watching me race all weekend either....

That isn't an option for me because on my main account, a rare car is in the UCD and I only have half the money needed so I've just been racing my main account drivers with my secondary account.
 
Well it got past Loading Race events, which was where it hung all weekend. We'll see if it starts a race this evening.

Sweet! 2 races down. More to go. Lotsa more.

Sites running faster again due to less load. don't expect that to last for long.

Forgotten how CPU heavy this widget can be on a single core laptop some times with Yahoo and Vista running.
(Removed Vista OS again for now, going back to other games and Kubuntu 12.04 beta updates.)

Tried the US, UK and Ireland (i.e. a random server!) and all gets the same. Occasionally it gets one through (typically the first one in a "batch" then "craps out").

Cleared IE cache (not Chrome cache - wouldnt expect it would use that?). Starting races from the web interface works fine if not a bit laggy.

Any ideas?
 
The widget seems to work for me, except that it only recognizes one person on my friends list. The 4 new friends on my list for b-spec grinding aren't even available. Anybody know how to fix this?

New friends can take a while (4 hours) to show - make sure you and your friends have signed out and back into GT5 (exit game is enough no need for PSN logout) and then let the GT5 servers sync up - the widget will just pick up on them and automatically add them in :)
 
Correct, as long as you have logged out/in (and your four friends have too) - dont worry they will appear over the next few hours/days (days if they are "random GTplanet friends" ;) )

My Widget still not working - though I presume some peoples are as my Bobs are all busy racing!
 
and as I said that it kicked in - seems to be just a bit iffy atm wonder if there are some back-end things going on in prep for the 4th maint planned :)
 
hey just got this.. is there any way to specify which track it can run on.. I'd really like to only run cape ring (duhh) and if there are any other certain things i should know about please let me know :)

Edit: just found out how to chuck the ID in 👍 good news is that it loaded Cape Ring first go so hopefully as I sleep it will spam the 🤬 out of cape ring :P Oh yeah, will I need to re-enter the ID code each time I load up the Widget?

I wouldn't mind taking a stab a re-writting it on a different platform, I just can't decide on which platform to use. All the code is in XML and Javascript, it's pretty much already done, just has to be ported.
 
I think that the Yahoo Widget Engine will still work, just no further work will be done on it. I've been using the Widget Engine since it was the Konfabulator, and not much has changed within it.

There was some development on a Firefox extension, but the original author has gotten a life, and stopped development on it...
 
Yeah, I know. But with multiple platforms, it would be difficult to support/maintain...

Of course, it's better than leaving Internet Explorer up and running.

You would not be able to use IE extension as that provided even more problems than yahoo OS that yonis was ditching.
Firefox and Chrome only was the plan for the extension. IE users would be left behind with only the widget as it is now.
 
I had just got this Widget. I have only got one race done and I have Temp Server Issue. Not sure what to do. I turned the widget off and on also my PS3 server mode even the PS3 all together, also where do you put the track ID in? Thanks in advance!
 
Those of us without a PC in the house, Macs only thank you, means that we will stick with the Yahoo Widget, or develop a web browser extension to handle the grinding.
 
Hello, excellent grinder program.

But i have on-going issues with the grinder: It will log in, and half way, it will "SESSION DROPPED; WILL RETRY". No matter how many times i force reauthenticate, it just won't work.

any solutions? I have tried reinstalling the widget, still no dice.

STOP THE PRESS!

Been running some tests with ypmud this morning & have some fairly conclusive data that the 5min races payout more £/per min than the others.

5 min races over an hour paid out £112k (~£2k per min)
20 min races over 90 minutes paid out LESS overall £99k (£764 per min)

If you're running this bot & want to maximise what your buddies are getting run 5 min races! This has the added benefit of racing more of your buddies who will hopefully in return race you more.

I am wondering if there are detailed instructions on how to set this up? In the remote race events there aren't any 5 min races. I tried setting the widget to short races only, weeks ago, and it never queued up a race. Reset to all race lengths and it picked up and went on. Would like to give it another shot but not sure what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have you set to always use and leave one driver free on my hosting account since you appear to be the only person, of late, running my main account's drivers. If you want me to change anything let me know.
