Hi there,
Anyone knows about this problem??
I'm trying to run the B-Spec Grinder on Win7, but I can't login.

"the login credential you've provided are incorrect"

The B-Spec is runing in server mode and the User name and password is correct.

I'm able to login and grind via Gran-Turismo.com, but not with the widget.....Anyone??

Have you downloaded the latest version, v.1.1.3, off the first page of this thread?

The old versions will fail as the authentication process was changed by Sony. v.1.1.3 fixed this.

An interesting observation: After about a week of running 24/7 I noticed my PS3 seemed to be running sluggishly....cleaned the cache and it took a good 2-3 minutes to complete....

Yonis, thanks for putting your efforts into making GTP even more accessible as a community.

I just started yesterday and it's running smoothly. If in the future you allow the ability to keep the preference to choose a specific event that would be just perfect (when I manually did it I went for Sarthe as it had the highest payout).

Just a quick question though, If i plan on using my laptop to grind overnight wirelessly, if the connection cuts out for a few seconds, will the widget try reconnecting automatically?

i just cleared out the cache for the first time evAr after i tried manually starting an online b-spec race...

took about 20 minutes or more to complete, but it's also the first time i've done it in the 3 years of owning my PS3...

in our WSCC racing-league, we clean cache each time before entering a race lounge. That prevents connection issues during races. If you do it regularly, it takes about 5 seconds.

In the current version, it will try reconnecting for 15 minutes or so and then it will wait for you to tell it to reconnect. An outage of just a few seconds will likely not even be noticed.

There seems to be a bug calculating cash in version 1.1.3. It seems like the widget is subtracting what your drivers have earned from your total instead of adding it.

For example, I have ~17.x mil when I first setup server mode and race for a while, suddenly it's saying I have 16.x mil.

I don't have that behavior in mine. Hover your mouse over the credits and paste here what the tool tip says. Does it add up? Is it accurate?

Sorry, this was a stupid time for me to report a bug. I just started a 24 hour A-spec race. I'm 4 hours in, it might be a few days before I'm doing remote races again. Will post more info ASAP.

You could always compare what the widget says to what the GT website says. If they are different, its the widgets fault. If they are the same, the problem is likely with the GT website.

Looking at it now, it seems the widget is correct... I'd swear I've noticed two instances recently where that number didn't seem right, and logging in confirmed that.

Once I start racing remote races again I'll pay a lot more attention and take some specific data if I do see any discrepancies.

Hey guys, I'm getting a lot closer on the Driver Selection feature... The user interface for it is nearly implemented. I would have gotten a lot further with this, but Comcast knocked out my Internet access for 2 days, so there was no way for me to test my new code.

Anyway, right now I just need to add a few menus. After that, I just need to tweak the actual selection code to use the new settings.

Here's a screenshot of the actual Widget at this time; it's not a mockup.

Stay tuned...

Thats a brilliant effort, not too worried about my friends driver being picked out randomly but having the choice of using each one of my driver at a time would be brilliant to ensure they are all getting exp and credits :D

Can you implement an option which picks the driver that has earned the least amount of credits? So it keeps all the drivers earning about the same amount?

Hear hear, I can't wait for friend selection.

I have online "friends" who are good to race with online, but don't host while sharing their Bobs. So I don't want to delete them, but want to give good hosters first preference, like:-

  • yannc
  • morrosco
  • redrobin347
  • EngelskExile
  • and especially soniae74 👍 You're a machine.

Lol, thanks. All credit goes to Yonis' grinder.

Same here. I have one friend who uses my Bobs all the time and because he only has a few friends with GT5 mine get loads of cash and xp but because a lot of my friends have GT5 and have Bobs shared he only gets used occasionally. Also, as Watto says, there are people on my list who never ever run races or indeed even collect their cash so I'd really like to have the option not to use them.

Wow, I didn't realise how big this thread has gotten. Page 74 and nearly 1500 posts. Be proud Yonis :) so many on here are thankful you've helped take the grinding out of grinding.

It's quite a few pages back, but there will be an option for "ALWAYS USE", "RANDOMLY USE", and "NEVER USE". This will help us ensure good hosters are repaid for their efforts.

EDIT: Just looked back through the thread. It was page 41 when Yonis first showed us a preview of "friend selection". It's been a popular thread.

I'm definitely willing to be an alpha/beta tester to speed the testing up.

Speaking of which, even on my simple accounts (few friends/drivers), I'm getting up to a 10s delay for 4 threads where before they would work fine at 1 even when it was only trying to reserve 6 other drivers (on purpose, was testing something on my end).
