B-Spec in GT5

Am I the only one enjoying this? I have my guy J.Stone doing races all the time. I got golds on Sunday Cup finally and am starting to figure out the strategy. It is going to be pretty cool when I can use all of my racers to make some crazy money. ;) And the endurance races will be awesome too.

I'm enjoying it too! My guy is lvl 5 now and is almost capable of winning without much input from me. He still gets flustered in a pack, but once he's out he does much better.

It's a nice break from driving all the time. Gives me a chance to have a beverage and watch my cars in action, not just in replay.

b-spec sucks at lov level and in slow car, so i gave him a faster one and he is dominating the races at low level, gonna be fun earning easy money without driving self :D

This. +1 :)

Anybody here has beaten the Yaris Cup in B-Spec? I found it difficult to win in A-Spec with a modified 125 HP Vitz, imagine it with a crappy 3-level driver. Can someone give me a tip or two for winning that race?

Anyone know how to lanuch an Online B-Spec race against friends b-spec drivers? I can't seem to find an option for it but the GT website said we woul dbe able to do this. Maybe I need to be higher level or maybe it is offline to save server bandwidth or something.

Anyone know anything about this?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your friend has to 'Share' his driver, then when you do a b-spec race, he should be in the field.

The actual remote races doesnt go live till December.

Can you fast forward in b-spec like in gt4?
Nope. But the races are so beautiful to watch. :)

It's hardly an exciting game mode, but it's a nice way to earn some extra money while I'm sitting at my computer or doing something else.
And having the sound of the R8 V10 engine in the background while I'm writing this is actually oddly soothing :P.

I pushed my driver (V. Montoya) so hard in the Swift (which any of us would win in) that as he got angry or something. Just before level 5 his green "go" arrow pointed down and turned orange. He hasn't won any races yet! I figure he just needed a break to go rest lol. Then I got T.Massa and let him slaughter the AI with the Chrome BMW. I can sense some jealousy between the two now, I can hear it now in the Paddock "Why does Massa get the sweet rides all the time". Etc. Yada Yada Yada.
Gotta work on my management skills I guess!
I hope Montoya can be salvaged, he was showing progress then he just collapsed:ouch:!

Up the power to 200 or so hp, Sports Hard tires, Full Customizable Transmission(set for 230km, not sure what that's in miles), and that should be enough, since I used a similar setup (Yaris 1.5 RS '00 model I think).

I used a Vitz Turbo with 155hp, beat(1st) them the second try. I noticed the first time on a track he goes slower but the second he improves.

There's a huge glitch on Fuji Speedway where the AI just slams on the brakes and sits there if it's got its wheels on the rumble strips at certain parts of the track. The worst part is that your B-Spec driver does it too.

My guy did that on Autum Ring mini. He waited for the cars to pass before returning to the track. I did not see it as a bug or glitch. But if there were no cars on the track then it seems like one.

I dont think choosing a name is all that important. Everyone would just choose the same names.

Yep and we all know what that would be....

Some say that after making love, he bites the head of his partner, and that he's had to give up binge-drinking now that it 's got to £1.18 a litre. All we know is he's called the Stig.

my guy was on the madrid course (mini one I think) he hit the wall when going round the hairpin at the beginning so he reversed, but instead of doing it a little he reversed and did a full 180 :indiff: he did this 4-5 times...... before rejoining the race.... incase you were wondering it was a Volvo C30R-design

Has anyone had any luck getting gold in the GT All Stars series? I'm using the Zonda R, tuned completely, but I can't manage to get gold on Cape Ring. My driver is level 21.

Anyone found any good tuning options? Getting blown away every time is really annoying.

Also, the classic super car race is being frustrating, got silver and bronze with the Mark IV, but I can't find a good tuning option to get gold.

I think all that equipment it's too expensive for just one race. I mean, on balance the price money + the price car (which I don't expect it to be very spectacular) won't be worth all the money I'd spend on tuning a car I won't use again. I still appreciate that piece of advice, I'll bear it in mind if I can't win that race by any other method.

That was what I used, but I think it was a bit overkill, don't remember right.

Also I used the car in other places so it wasn't bad for me, it was my starter car and the car I used in the Beginner GT Rally Special Event after further tuning, still I recognize I over exaggerate with the tuning I perform to the cars mt B-spec drive..

B-Spec is a bloody joke,

I'm trying to do the Toyota Yaris cup, i have almost twice the horsepower of the other cars, sports suspention and everything, the damn car comes in last everytime, i've tried everything, maintaining pace, increasing pace, i try to keep the drivers stress level low, but that doesn't work, and if he runs off he gets back and completely stops the damn car on the tarmac for a few seconds before driving off again..
He doesn't overtake, on the straigts he's just bumping into the back of the other cars, and keeps braking for nothing.

WTF?

this is a complete waste of time, why is there even a B-Spec mode? this is stupid.

B-spec in Daytona is HORRIBLE. I've got a truck with 200hp more than any of the others and I keep coming in almost last.

haha doing that race now and he came in dead last...21 seconds back. He keeps braking on the corners.
I swear..if B-spec Bob was a real person he would get a punch in the face for being so utterly terrible. He drives like a toddler.

Exactly. Drops to 120mph when he was already going through the corner at a stable 145. Good news though I finally got a win. JUST BARELY...

yes. That driver would have had a knuckle sandwich for the way he drives.

Tune your bugatti that you win in Aspec mode and you will blow them to kingdome come. The classic super car use a lambo countach lp 400 tuned to max and if you wanna make sure bob doesnt screw it, give it a wing.

That was what I imagined too, since IMO earning credits in GT5 is way to slow for a non full-time gamer. However, my two drivers has no will to win whatsoever. After 20 races, they display no trace of talent for racing. In most races they have to be constantly fed orders to overtake and increase the pace, and when pushed in such a menner they all to often often spin out. In the end it's almost a bigger chore and less of a credit making scheme than doing the races myself. Maybe they'll fare better if I give them ridiculously powerful cars compared to the other AI's.

So, I was thinking of an interesting alternative, let's call it C-Spec, where an AI driver learns from yourself, inheriting your own experience level and style of driving. Something for GT6 maybe...

B-spec isn't meant to be auto pilot by any means but rather a game about training your team to be as good as you are in a-spec. Though on the surface it may seem "stupid" it is quite ingenious, and years from now people will see some of the early posts about this portion of GT5 and perhaps laugh about the misunderstandings. Any way, it will take some time and effort to train up your b-spec drivers and yes this may take almost as much attention as a-spec! You people gotta have some imagination here!!!!!
