B-Spec is not all bad.. Its comes in very handy when my wife wants me to tend to her and I still want to play a game... At lest make some money. ;-P

Right now bspec plan is set all my 3 newbie drives in my evi2 mercedes 190 (road car unfortunately missed the race car in used cars depot, but it would have been to expensive anyways) and let them grind up levels, schwarzwald league A (exlert series) races arent to long and u gain 23000 credits. Plus they level from 0to 4 after 1 race.
Do they get more poi ts if i use a slower (but win) car anyone knows??

B-spec isn't meant to be auto pilot by any means but rather a game about training your team to be as good as you are in a-spec. Though on the surface it may seem "stupid" it is quite ingenious, and years from now people will see some of the early posts about this portion of GT5 and perhaps laugh about the misunderstandings. Any way, it will take some time and effort to train up your b-spec drivers and yes this may take almost as much attention as a-spec! You people gotta have some imagination here!!!!!

sure, the concept is ok, but if b-spec bob drives even worse than my cat when i put him ontop of my G27, i can conclude with a considerable amount of certainty that B-Spec sucks donkeyballs.

if i let him drive an insanely overpowered and highly tuned car, i can win a race, but at this time i do not have the credits to make that possible.
It's the beginners class, and in the beginners class you'd expect to be needing beginners cars, even tho B-Spec Bob is now doing the FD challenge in my chrome line M3 as we speak, and barely winning....

The AI is so bad, it's even worse than the AI on probably most PS2 racegames. (accept GT3 and 4, they were worse)
it's lame, it's poorly worked out, and its like that fat slut in the bar after you had 15 beers, she looks good, but from up close its horrible.

How do I get my Bspec racer around the london circuit in the small car amatuer races. Even if I press decrease pace he keeps ramming head on into all the walls.
He's in the Motul CIVIC he should be slaughtering the other racers.

that's the whole problem, you could try to keep the "cool-hot" bar indicator in the middle by increasing and decreasing the pace, but best is to put on the best tires allowed for that race and give the car as much power and suspension parts as possible.

It seems that Bob have more trouble driving in small/mini and narrow circuits than regular size circuits.

He's just so dumb in a small track, braking all the time and won't overtake even when you tell him to. But on a normal track he's money most of the time, not perfect but good enough.

Yup. And they go so slow on the turns, like people will pass you. No steady gas, just likes to "pump it" and puts it all down near the end still turning. They burn out of corners WAY to much. As a driver you should be LEARNING the track. The more you race it, the better you become on it. If you burn out on turn, you might put power on a bit later next time? Come on, people aren't stupid. Caution is so important on beginner drivers, not sheer stupidity. On skinny tracks, they will not pass anyone when I tell them to. Never!

Its all about giving the commands at the right times, its harder than GT4, but I for one am glad and I think its cool. Its gonna take awhile to build a stable of racers then its time for endurance racing. If it was easy it would be boring to quick. I see the vision of B spec its large scale and its gonna take patience.

My driver can recover from slides better than I can, but at least I know how to pass.

Can anyone get their driver to beat the truck challenge and the Classic Sports Car Race? Mine has a 550hp Lightning and a Cobra and he's coming in 8th when all the other trucks pass him on the curves. PUT THE POWER ON, MAN!

Edit: Upping horsepower on the Lightning to 585 and changing gear ratios, let's see....

My b spec driver is only level 3! It's so boring because he sucks at turning even though I tuned the car to the max and he doesn't know how to overtake!! I don't thnk I'llbe using this mode a lot.. the only cool part of bspec mode is that my driver's name is I.Fuchs.. ;)

does anybody think the b spec drivers performance (at lower levels anyway) relates to the country of the car hes driving?

My guy is called Fracchi, and does really well in European cars and doesnt seem to drive to great in anything japanese.

Put him in situations where he will for sure win, then go back and do the ones your stuck on. Start with FF or give him a AWD, give him the best tires possible and level 2 everything else. If you can give him a overpowered car do so etc. At first he will drive like a buffoon but as you level him he should get better

try keep you driver in the cool to win races

Well said - keep the driver cool and he performs so much better. My driver, Mr.G.Gay, is usually at the front of the pack half way around lap one, he's quite aggressive so I have to tell him to decrease his pace a lot.

All depends on your driver and the car. At first I had him spinning out all the time, but then switched cars and changed tactics and after two failed first attempts he hasn't lost a race since.

B-Spec is great for chilling out to and piling in those wins, prize cars and easy credits.

after a intence fight for 1st trough 4 1/2 lap on the suzuka circuit the stupid (...) went out in a spin. allmost 5!!! seconds til 3rd but he stands still on the grass, 2-4 feets from the track, waiting for the rivals to pass by before goin back on the track. ends up on a 6th tho it could have been a nice 2nd..! his level 9 and i just soo want to fire him, kill him if thats possible.. wonder when he will start driving propper.. :grumpy:
Rome circuit was a nice 1st.

(standar :S ) original Countack LP 400 '74, Supercar Nostalgia Cup

tho this race got him to level 10.

I have noticed that u will win better cars/premium with b-spec where u might win a standard car in a-spec.

got two drivers.. -_-

...

My driver was also bumping heavily into the walls with my starter EK9 and no matter how cool he is, he just crashes into some walls on Tokyo R246. So I went into the setup screen and started twiddling with the suspension to get rid of the understeer and lo and behold, he started winning races after that.

So bottom line is give your car a good setup, it will help your driver immensely.

PS: Anyone knows what the arrows beside your driver's helmet mean? Also, is there a way to speed up time in b-spec?

TIA! :)

What is the first (and second) cars you guys pick for B-Spec?

I sent my driver in to the sunday cup with an unmodified Peugeot 207 GTi and after a couple races he is now winning these races with minimal effort and minimum interaction required from me.

What car do you think I should use for the next step up?

I don't understand the point of b-spec.

Why would you want to sit and watch the AI race through double length races?

Annoys me that there are trophies for it, am I really gonna have to sit and watch the AI race for hours on end to complete the game?

I like B-Spec. Gives me a chance to have the PS3 on in the day, earning money for the evening. I'm at level 6 now, and have won some decent enough cars cars to complete other events in A-Spec.

I've been using B-spec to farm afk credits to great success. I generally let my drivers AFK either the Lamborghini Challenge, or the first GT World cup (B-spec level is only 15, A-spec about the same). I generally set the race, and come back later to collect my 22k credits. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

I have been playing a-spec and started b-spec last night. All of the cars i let my driver use now drive like garbage.

Is this a glitch or does it change the car settings drastically????

It would be good if there is an iPad app for controlling the B Spec driver once they release the remote play feature.

I think all that equipment it's too expensive for just one race. I mean, on balance the price money + the price car (which I don't expect it to be very spectacular) won't be worth all the money I'd spend on tuning a car I won't use again. I still appreciate that piece of advice, I'll bear it in mind if I can't win that race by any other method.

I bought a uysed Vitz 1.5 RS Turbo and with a few mods (5000CR) it won everything in that trophy.

I HATE the B-spec mode, the drivers are completely, moronic. I can not believe I'm forced to do this ****, in order to win the game, PD, great job as ****ing always.

ditto..........
PD sould leaved B-spec as it was in GT4 as an ptional way to compite in races, and not
this "kick me in the face" way :banghead:
I really don't see the point of a full blown B-spec mode !!!!

I'm not going to lie, I absolutely love reading everyone else's posts. I was really hoping I wasn't the only person who wanted to take my B-spec driver out and beat the ever living heck out of him!

I have my driver in the MUGEN MOTUL CIVIC Si Race Car '87 with 280hp in the very first races you can race. My guy cannot beat Autumn Ring mini. This is my 2nd driver and through about 10 races, they haven't fared better than 3rd. Yet, I just raced a 6 lap race on Madrid and my driver was about to lap last place. I hate B-spec!

i agree to all of you hating b-spec. my guy is now lvl 6 and he was just competing in the amateur american muscle challenge with my 600 hp fully tuned corvette 69. he started like the brakes were stuck then surprisingly made it up to position 3 after the first round and i thought: 'well maybe there is some fun in this...'
but then he overdid it in variante della roggia and went out of the track where he came to a complete standstill and let the complete field pass without moving a single inch! i would so much like to punch him right now, maybe they could implement a move boxing feature, where you can do this after each race to teach your guy ;)
