Part 1 - Friday

Well, I got woken up by my dad at 6:20am so we could set off to the track before the roads got messy, we arrived at roughly 6:45! :scared: So we set off to the "F1 Village" where all the teams merch tents are - well I say all the teams, Spyker, Super Aguri and, most suprising of all, Honda all favoured the no Merch idea - and set my eyes on a BMW Team Shirt, picture time!

We walked a lap around the track, took a look at our seats for Sunday at Abbey corner and then walked back round to the main straight where we set up some breaky, pasta. :) By now the Formula 1 Practice Session was underway..

After this, dad had a little "birthday suprise" instore, he teamed up with a collegue he knows through work to manage to get me into the paddock for a short while! It was awesome to be so close to the GP2 cars during their Practice session, hell Dad even commented on the smell of ethenol coming from the cars as they entered the pits!

After this had finished, we decided to go check out the BMW Pit Lane Park. We went there last season too and we found it an awesome experience! Me and Dad took part in the pit stop chellenge where we teamed up with another pair on the rear wheels to take on the 2 teams working on the front two wheels. Dad took the drill, I replaced the tyre, our first pracitce didn't go too well with me knocking the bolt out of Dad's hand with the tyre  but soon after we got it nailed and our team recorded a 11.5s score, thrashing the front team. :D

We also watched a Formula BMW UK demo on the skid pad whilst we were there. Afterwards we watched the second practice for Formula 1 whilst again taking a walk around there track untill we stopped at Abbey in our seats, to check out how long we get to see the cars for, we measured it at around 4 seconds .

I'm seriously considering renting a Kangaroo TV for the race at 40 quid, it gives you the option to watch on-board camers, listen to team communications and keep track of who is where. Very handy!

Well, I'm probably gonna go catch a hours kip, roll on tomorrow!

Part 2 - Saturday

Well the day got off to a shocker, woke up to the sound of Dad saying it was 8:15!! The oversleep resulted in what would have been a 10 minute trip becoming a 50 minute trip thanks to the traffic. Deffinatley gonna have to learn from that one..

We got in the circuit at around 9:20 and headed towards the F1 Village again as my sis wanted a Jenson Button top, I also stopped by at the Toro Rosso shop to grab myself a Scott Speed t-shirt and a Team shirt, looks nice! :) We then made our way to Luffields to check out the view, must admit, I might have to sit there next year! Anyway we moved to the Pit Straight to catch the Morning Practice..

After Practice finished we had some food and moved on to the first corner, Copse, where we watched the Porsche Supercup Qualifying session take place..

Approximately half an hour later we took a seat on Hangar Straight to watch the highlight of the day, Formula 1 Qualifying, it was a really good hour with the crowd exploding when Hamilton took the pole..

So, to sum up the day, I'll leave you guys with this pic of Mr.Hamilton..

Thanks to xs.to for the hosting!

Sounds like you had fun, Lee! Me and my dad might have been able to get tickets for today's practice, but obviously he didn't manage to secure any.

Have a great time tomorrow!

Sounds great! I must visit Silverstone one day. I've been near it several times, but never got to visit.

Use xs.to to host pictures. Imageshack isn't exactly usable anymore because it's so slow (on my end anyway).

Thanks for the comments on the pictures! I'll be sure to get some more tomorrow! :)

Looks like a great trip so far! :) Have fun tomorrow and Sunday! :) --- Randy

Part 2 now up with pictures!
Hey Bee, those are good pictures that you have taken for this weekend so far. :)👍 For the sake of asking, what camera are you using? One of those digital cameras by any chance?

Also, any chance you might take some pictures of the GP2 sprint race tomorrow? I have a feeling what you said about the time you arrived at the track was after the GP2 feature race.

Looking forward to tomorrows photo report. :D
