Best sleeper/fun car?

MX-5/Miata '04. worth of every penny. doesn't look like much, isn't that fast, but gods, that it's so much fun in the corners. it a perfect out of box-drifter, no tuning needed.

I think the most fun I have had is in the '86 MR2 Supercharged or the Trueno. I have 3 MR2s, one stock, one fully tuned, and one for the 'Ring. Ive also got 2 Truenos, one with sport exhaust and suspension and one fully tuned. I love how you can throw the MR2 into a perfect slide and snap it back with ease. As for the Trueno, put on the Original suspension and Turbo and you'll understand. With a DS2 and average driving skills it pulled 59 seconds around Tsukuba.

The Honda 800(and the like)... Fully done up and raced on Cita Di Aria is a BLAST!!! You could fit that thing into a suitcase...

Clios (Both MR versions)... If you tune them right, you can get some serious motion on the back end... Really fun to race on any of the rally street races... Kind of feels like a poor man's NSX

MGs (I'm not sure if it's the used version or not, or if they're different for that matter). But they're great fun to rip around in.

Toyota MR Spyders (Another great car to bomb around in, though I'm not sure that I'd call it a sleeper as it looks real hot!

Yeah, I love the 800. Fully tuned it'll redline at something like 11800 RPM...

I've seen one in real life. and it could fit inside my bedroom :)

No kidding! I saw one at a shop once.. asked the guy "hey is that a Honda S500?" He goes "its an S600.. but how did you know about those?"....

I was too embaressed to say GT4.. :embarrassed:

The AE86s and the MR-s and mr2 spyder are both fun in a mild form,
I really think that the R32 GTS-25t is underrated, in mild form, it can whoop on its class.

1800SSS

Yeah I love high it can scream:drool:.

Fireball

I did that once, this guy had a spoon engine in his civic. It surprised him I
knew about it:D. But I told him about how I learned about in GT.

For me, the sleeper is the BMW 120d Diesel. It may not be quick on the straight but it can do a lap around the 'Ring in 7:35. It has a very torquey 2.0L Diesel. I tuned it to 255 BHP. I may run the 4 hours with it.

For me, are:

Daimler Motor Carriage 1886 and Benz Patent Motor Wagen 1886 - try a two player battle whith this cars in Nurburgring Nordsheleife.:)

Auto Union v16 type c Streamline - a bit...strange car.👍

Subaru SUBARU 360 - a funny car. :)

Chaparral 2D - this car, whith only 3 shifts, fully equiped can go up to 440 KM/H !!! 👍 (whithout nitros)

I just discovered a new sleeper car today.

The RUF BTR 86', unlike most RUF cars it can be equipped with a wing so it has adjustable downforce! :dopey: If you get rid of the back-sliding character its a BLAST to drive around the Nurburgring. With weight removing stage 3 it only has 1038 kilograms and with all engine tuning parts its has around 460 HP.(Without additional turbo)

Its also equipped with an awesome looking race-like bodykit, it sounds gorgeous;it its like racing a 86' racing Porsche. 👍

I was able to do a 7:01.xx round around the Ring without pushing on R1 extra-hard tires, it handled like on rails. RUF's tend to slide away at the rear, increasing toe to +2 rear and setting downforce F 15/ R 30 helps to cure all these problems.

Try it out.

Greetings Good Sir,
I heartily concur with your endorsement of the aforementioned RUF "Yellowbird". A goodly number of years ago, I traveled across the big pond, to Merry Olde England, to visit a good friend of mine. To my delight he met me at Heathrow in his 1989 964 RCT EVO. This was indeed a mighty conveyence. Enough torque to change the earths rotation, horsepower in abundance, and a nasty personality to boot. It was a car that would reward you if you drove it with any amount competence, but should you make a mistake, the wrath of this beasty was indeed mighty!
After two days in the pilots chair I had a new respect for the ass engined Nazi slot car. A superb machine that handled like it was on hockey skates and truly one of the most powerful road cars I have had the priveledge to drive.
Yours From Memory Lane
Fangio

Just a small thing:
The Yellowbird and the BTR are two different cars.
The CTR "Yellowbird" is the crazy-go-nuts, twitchy nut job car, notable for being the fastest car in the world until the arrival of the Jaguar XJ220.
The BTR is the considereably less crazy-go-nuts, twitchy nut job car, especially with downforce.

I'm surprised no-one said this one yet, for no-one expetcs the Spanish Inqui...I mean, the Volvo 240 GLT Estate!

when tuned, an absolute sleeper, and too much fun to drive.

That car is probably one of the best drift cars in gt4, it loves staying in the high rpms!! looks retarded but it anit a retarded drifter, thats for sure!

with all due respect these cars are stunning with the propor racing body kit and rims... i realize grand turismo does not allow you the freedom of modifying the look of the body much, but in real life you can make em' look great! However, the look of the GL Wagon is partly what makes it such a dandy sleeper, and i couldn't agree with you more... but I love the BMW 2002 and of course my heart and soul, the 1982 Audi Quattro

probably one of the biggest sleepers is the ford lightning tune to about 500+ hp with equally beefy drivetrain and other mods and you got a 4600lb missle

The sleeper: Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech, looks like a car used to take the kids to school and the croceries home from the supermarket.

But, packing GT-R technology, it can take the kids around Nürburgring in six minutes and forty-five seconds without too much sweating... and that's not even fully tricked out. :ill:

You are correct sir... The 260RS is the ultimate sleeper

i recently sold my 88 vw gti after it broke down, it wasnt the fastest but it was fun, i didnt get to tune it as much as i wanted it had exhaust and intake with a dohc 16v 1.8 and it was beating any of the local tuned civics, and you can actually heal toe and drift that thing

it was decent sleeper

NEO class RB26 FTW.. the stock turbos are able to support over 400 hp and loads of quick-spooling torque in gran turismo 👍

Believe it or not, in stock form the 260RS is not that much better than an RSFour. :) Almost identical 1/4 miles, power figures, weights, and the RSFour has a better ratioed gearbox. :odd:

Now for my sleepers:

*Toyota Caldina GT-Four '02 - The soccer mum's ultimate getabout car. Is an animal around the ring with only 407hp going sub 7'30 on S3's!! Then you can slap some slicks on and make it into a 9.2sec beast with 587hp + NOS.

*Toyota Celica TA22 '70 - The original and often the best of the whole Celica series up to today!! Only the GT-Four's give that same kind of mad feeling.

*Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon '00 - The bugeyed wagon, and the quickest of all the wagons in stock form. Try 12's on the 1/4 with only the oil change!! :D

*TVR Griffith 500 '94 - The easy choice for quick, cheap fun. 20k gets you a nice 60,000km version....add an oil change and stage 1 weight reduction and you have your instant British lightweight champion!! Being powered by a 5.0L Holden V8 motor doesn't hurt performance either. :)

That's the tip of the iceberg for me.

Sleeper: Ford Ka with stage 2 turbo and S3s. Quick as can be for a 965kg car with only 184-199hp, and it looks cute... Yellow + stock rims...

I would think the C1 Corvette, who would guess a 50yr old car would go so fast with the right mods.

Sorry if any of these have been listed already, I'm not going to read 11 pages noting every car taken.

Lotus Carlton - Looks like a Vauxhall Carlton, goes like a missle. Twin turbo and 170+mph good enough? :sly:

Starlet Glanza V - Turbocharged hot hatch that most people never expect to go as fast as it does. Too bad the chavs are getting their dirty hands on them these days. :indiff:

Honda Odyssey - Mother will be pleased when you took the kids to school in record time. :dopey:

BMW M5 - Doesn't have the shouty looks of the M3, so the M5 is often unnoticed in the city. On the autobahn however, don't be suprised if one passes you at 200mph. :ill:

Dodge RAM - Youtube "Hemi Rage". Have fun. :mischievous:
